If you re looking for an amazingly amazing resort with plenty of advanced runs, express lifts and great powder and tree skiing, this is not the resort for you. This is a resort for the desperate Southern Californian who wants to ski on a one day trip. The snow is not great, but it s Southern California. You can t expect much. Food is okay. Last time we went there, the rental shop was totally understaffed, so it took about three hours before we could get on the slopes. If you re too lazy to go to big bear or mammoth, come here. If not, go there. FYI, the lift tickets are $79 for adults.

The place itself has the nicest staff ever. Patient and can work with you. The people there, not so much. They're not always aware of the courtesy of society. Like moving from the narrow paths to make it easy for the people there.

Nice place to take the family and have some snow fun, will try this place again in the summer time, it's good to breath fresh air and be with nature, amazing panoramic view, about 2 hours or less from Los Angeles

A great place for beginners to learn how to ski or snowboard though weekends make the classes so large it can become overwhelming. A nice area for experienced to show their skills on the many routes too. Only real problem is how crowded it gets on weekend with classes and with the mountain in general.

It's the closest mountain to LA which makes it a very popular destination. Employees are great. The hill is challenfing enough for the occasional skier. It has couple of, what I like to call, SoCal Black Diamons. The parking situation needs to improve. If it's a sunny day and there's snow on the mountain get there early as parking did and will run out.

The best time to go is when it's really cold and possibly snowing. My family and I went today and the snow was so soft and fluffy. And it actually started snowing. It was really amazing. We all had a lot of fun.

I came here with my family for a day of skiing during the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. First the snow is so bad! It is more frozen water particles blown by the machines not snow. The frozen water particles were being blown everywhere and it was hitting my face. Second, my daughter missed her board lesson due miscommunications but the manager at the ticket counter refused to give us refund or credit for the missed lesson. Overall, it was horrible snow and skiing condition and terrible customer service here so we will never come back here again.

It was epic! I grow up in Colorado and experienced real snow, that being said 2/4/19 they had real snow up there. the roads were kept clear, the check in process was easy, food was good. Services were great, everyone was friendly and helpful. My son and I had a great day!

The experience overall was great and the environment is lively and active. From the music to the professionalism they had, I had a blast, only things I could knock was just the entry line was long and the rental room smells like a sweaty gym, but still a great time! Will likely go again!

Can't be the drive here but definitely beat the traffic on your way up. The terrain park and Blue Ridge is da best. Everybody loves the awesomeness of the duper fast Blue Ridge lift....lol....panty tree is the coolest tree ever!!! The Foggy Goggle is the best of the best place to defrost, get your buzz on abd sit to chat with everyone......Bring yourself....no regrets ..

I think this place is a great deal if you are looking to do a quick day trip and Big Bear is too far for you. The only thing is the website says Ikon pass holders can get 8 hour tickets for 69 regardless of blackout dates and when I went, the ticket was 79. Would have been nice to know that beforehand, I guess they didn't update the website.

My 3 kids and I had a great day today skiing. The parking was well-organized and we got close to the main lodge by getting there at 7:30am. Exiting the parking lot was annoying because there were not enough exit signs to guide me. Ticketing was pretty fast, though I had to stand in the much longer "Online/VIP" line because the other 5 lines couldn't handle online tickets. After that, everything was super smooth. The lift lines were usually just 3 mins. and at most 6 min.s. We used The Blue Ridge Express chair lift for almost the whole day, which was the fastest/highest chair on the West mountain. We were really impressed by the extensive groomed runs, which really helped turn the crusty top layer of snow that froze overnight into a pristine silky smooth ski experience. The staff on the slopes and in the dining area all had great attitudes. Even when my son lost his ticket, they replaced it happily. Lastly, the pizza was very tasty --they must make the dough daily.

Nearest to LA/OC and fun 4 a day. But beware the rental shop at the resort! Substandard quality board n boots 4 both me n my son. N computer check in is a hastle to get your board. And 10$-13$ more for rental than in town. Plus no combo price for lift n rental. 1/2 day was 5$ less than 8 hr lift. Just what'evs. PS missing Bear MTN! Take da Xtra 40 minute drive bro.

Nearest ski destination for So. Cal. residents. Pleasant staff and location, and assortment of different skill levels of slopes ( nice bunny hill for beginers, many blue, green level slopes, some black diamond when snow is high). Sometimes live DJ ,music or radio station appearance. Good family fun!!! Rent equipment and/or take lessons.

The skyline from this place is fantastic, a great place to spend the weekend. A place for skiing and entertainment as you like. Very clean air and altitude give an unforgettable coolness. You look like you're on top of the world.

I took a snowboarding class and the instructor was good. It was my 1st time in the snow and I had never skate or snow boarded. She taught step by step at a steady-fast pace which moved us along but she also never left a person behind & helped us if we did strt struggling. The place is nearby my home and it has good space to snowboard...and although the lines were long to rent the equipment, the equipment was running low, and the grill closed early, the experience there was still a good one and they created an amazing place. Idk if its just the beauty of nature all around or my love for snowboarding that makes me love this place so much. We went back and plan to keep going plus the staff were kind and we found good parking. The lifts are a little scary for me though...I'm not good with the landing.

If you are expecting Mammoth, Tahoe, Park City, or Vail this is not the place for you. To complete a surf in the morning and snowboard at night in one day; this is the perfect place. One hour and fifteen or so minutes gets you from sand to snow. No mountain switchback driving. There is a lively atmosphere at Mountain High. The employees seam to enjoy being there. The snow is usually icy with a heavy dose of machine made packed powder. Actual powder days from real snow are usually few and far between. Worth calling in sick if you hit one though.

This is my home mountain. Been going for years. Not a very big mountain at west, but east has much longer runs to feel the burn. Challenging park features at west resort, east however is reserved for carving, with usually no features. They have some tasty eats in various locations, hand tossed pizza, bread bowls, burgers, etc. And for something special, track down bartender Brad for his famous MorningWood bloody mary. Word of warning.. due to a poorly thought out stop sign in town, traffic can be horrendous on weekends/holidays. Make sure you are parked in the lot by 730 or face heavy traffic.

It's perfect for beginners and okay for intermediates. Location is great for a quick 1 day trip and warm-up for the ski season. I went on a Thursday and the crowd was just right. Weekends are murder though. There was just enough snow on Dec. 27 since it snowed 2 days before. Again, it's a great place for family and beginners.

Went up today to snowboard and purchased 17/18 season pass for four of my family members. However, today's dangerous icy slope conditions brought regrets to our decision for season pass purchases. Just one fall on the hard icy slope was enough to bruise your butt/knee and makes you rethink if you should get back up to try again. FEAR is what we experienced this day at MH. VERY disappointed with MH in their level of snow/slope maintenance. People will have fun when it's safe. Concerned member,

We love Mountain High but, When did buying lift tickets get so complicated! Some Must be purchased online, some 24 hrs in advance... what happened to getting in the car and going snowboarding??? Thank goodness for Ann the ticket whisperer. Helped us out and got us riding.
