The staff at Mount Moriah were friendly, compassionate, kind, and professional from start to finish. All the logistical items were clear, and they took the time to explain everything in detail, that was very much appreciated.

Mathew was wonderful in making us comfortable with the process of planning all the way with seeing the funeral and burial through until the end. It made our process bearable and felt very well taken care of. Thank you so much!

My family arrived at the cemetery to find they had not set up the sight, or done anything for the services. We watched them drive over head stones with a 1 ton truck trying to get everything ready. They then dropped one corner of the casket while trying to get the site set up.

My husband and I went to make our funeral plans. Everyone was friendly and gave us a very relaxed feeling.
No pressure was put on to chose anything we were not interested in.
All and in all it was done very professionally.

Rodney was exception, caring, sensitive and really made us comfortable and no pressure. He kept worrying about heath as I was admitted to hospital day after Pati died and want the best care for me. Caroline was great at finding sites for us but seem confused and the info the headstone. That does not take away her concern and help. Overall excellent service.

We only had a visitation for my husband, but Mt. Moriah handled everything smoothly and quietly working in the background taking care of the wishes of the family. They provided us a quality time to visit with friends and family. Anything I needed they were right on it and it was taken care of. I really appreciate the care they gave us.

I always give Mt Moriah a top rating. The Green and and their staff have taken care of my family innumerable times.
My parents John and Margaret Fischer, my siblings, Mary Ann Rose, Betty Huffman" Shirley Higginbotham, her husband Eugene.
I am happy that my husband Tony has his temporary presence close by.
Although we moved to Florida, Kansas City is home. My dad helped by I l d the Union Station" went off to WWI only to return and work on the Liberty Memorial.
My mother was a Harvey Girl for Fred Harvey"s in that historic building. I have written short stories published in Amazon about them.
My only regret us the turmoil created by some family dynamics which increased my sadness
I would suggest, although Courtney was wonderful and definitely an asset, that listening even closer as we Don"t always want to share our linen. But, then I should have articulated with more alarm that it needed to be extremely pruvate.
Perhaps a mention of Dignity website could be mentioned particularly when lived ones stipulate no service
Again, you get the best rating ever and U hope my plan for the future will be noted as very private.
Thank you again. You were all wonderfully understanding and my deepest apology for my family who seem to have not matured

We held my father's funeral here and all I can say is we had an amazing experience. We worked with David Freeman and had a very professional and dignifying experience. My father's funeral was perfect. David helped us schedule the military burial that my father would have really enjoyed. I don't know how many people came up to me saying that the funeral was one of the best funeral experiences that they have ever been to. I would not have changed one thing. Highly recommend working with David!!

My husband and I had the unfortunate experience of making arrangements for our 3 month old son. Mount Moriah staff could not have been more kind to us. We worked with Don Lewis, Susie Self, and David. They were each very empathic. They were willing to make the process fit our needs, they do not have a "cookie cutter" approach when it comes to arrangements and services. They want each family to have whatever arrangement will result in peace and closure.

Mount Moriah was the best choice we ever made. The gentleman who picked up our loved one after he passed show such care and 100% dignity with respect. The service for our loved one was small and simple but mount moriah helped make it thoughtful and showed such care with every little detail that we hadn't even thought about. The staff is 110% forever in our hearts

During these very challenging times, the team at Mt Moriah really worked with us to give our mom the send off she deserved. Our mom always said she wanted a "parade" when she passed. In the Covid environment with a limit of 8 people allowed to attend, that was going to be next to impossible! When we suggested a drive-thru visitation parade, though nothing like that had never done anything like that before, they were all in... and more than 75 cars were able to drive thru and pay their respects! In addition, the service which was broadcast live on Facebook has received more than 1,400 views! Thank you David, Rodney, Herbert and the entire Mt. Moriah team for giving our mom the special day we'd always hoped to give her!

I am glad we were able to have 50 people at my mother's funeral. They were very supportive to our needs and upgraded my mother's basket because they purchased their burial plans over 30 years ago and the casket they ordered was no longer made. The plan was difficult to read because it was handwritten. I'm sure with the advanced technology it won't be difficult for future families. So glad my parents did a prepaid burial plan, it made it so much easier in our time of grief.

For being such a sad time for us, Hilton and Madonna couldn't have been more caring to us. They were very thoughtful and the Funeral Director went out of his way to help us with the service and the setup of the display.

We were very touched. Thank you for all you did.

Hylton Lawrence took spectacular care of our family after my mom passed. He gave us many ideas for the service and had an outstanding attention to detail. Everything was wonderful, including allowing us to set up early with tons of keepsakes and photos, having the service go seamlessly and even packing up for us and allowing me to pick everything up two days later. We have a number of family members at Mt. Moriah and they put together maps so we could find all of them to pay our respects. We appreciated all they did and everyone was wonderful!

Great, historic resting place for families in the Kansas City area. If you need help locating a grave or planning a service, these folks are fantastic. Ask for Family Service Counselors - Caroline or Suzy.

My father passed away 6 months ago. I received an apology 2 months ago for his name not being engraved on the tombstone. At that time I was informed they would have his name engraved within a month. His name still has not been engraved. It is such a shame that we already paid for services and the engraving which we are apparently not going to get. He was a veteran that fought for our country. The nicest guy you would ever know. It is such a shame a funeral home would cheat a veteran of just this last request. This is no different than grave robbing and fraud. By next month, I fully intend to contact multiple news channels about this, inform the better business borough, and the state attorney general if we cannot get what was already paid for 6 months ago.

We have been paying on our Plans & Grave Marker now for several months & all going well.

Regarding the PreNeed presentation by Madonna at Holmes Mt. Moriah this too was done in a professional manner.

I do have one question that has not received a consistant answer. The Grave Marker was purchased with full Month Day & Year for birth & death plates.
We understood the quoted/contracted price to be inclusive of both dates: birth & death. Is this a correct understanding? When I have followed up with Holmes Rd. staff, I get two different answers.

Thank you for your response.

We unexpectedly lost our mom late on New Year s Eve. Not only did Matt come in on New Years Day to meet with our whole family but so did Herb and the Reverend. They went above and beyond every step of the way! Any time I needed help Matt was available and super helpful! The loss of our mother was the worst possible thing that could of happened and the people at Mt Moriah were able to help us through this extremely difficult time with so much ease! We truly wouldn t of made it through this difficult process without the help and support of Matt especially at Mt Moriah. Thank you!

In the moments and days before and during the visitation and wake for our Dad, we didn't realize how important every tiny detail was. The staff at Mt. Moriah handled everything beautifully, communicated well with our family and made sure that our Dad had the perfect sending off. I especially want to thank Don Lewis, the keeper of mints, bottled water and encouraging smiles. He's a gem.

Horrible experience! Worst part was the abject failure of the live stream. People were unable to tune in. According to people it was unwatchable , between buffering and the name on live feed was some other woman s name. Very unprofessional. The free Facebook platform was inadequate for the volume of people accessing the site. Well into the Covid crisis one would expect it to be seamless.
Also original appointment was scheduled with me the day before and I was not notified that another director would stand in. Dragged my 101 year old mother there and no courtesy of a phone call. Passed on to another who was not what I expected. And, to top it off, the body was prepared with facial hair, contrary to instructions. Fortunately not many witnessed this due to Covid visitation was suspended. So disappointed

Although the circumstances were sad, the experience was superb! The folks at Mount Mariah were nothing short of awesome! They made us feel totally comfortable and went out of their way to meet all of our requests with compassion and complete professionalism. A special hats off to Patty Bruier who saw to every last detail and Emma of Classic Catering.

Grandma had a gravesite here, but her funeral service with another location. We had to stop by to sign contract (Sure come on by - oh please wait 30 minutes for someone to be available) and were met with a very unprofessional young lady ('We have to wear dark suits and It was so hot I almost died' is not a comment you make to a grieving family) who regaled us with stories of everything that has gone wrong in the past, this was not at all comforting. The grounds are pretty though not sure how well kept since the marble headstone (that was placed when Grandpa passed) is cracked. If this hadn't been where Grandpa was buried I would have considered using a different location.

During one of the most emotional challenging time in my family s life , Mount Moriah Funeral Home was able to offer guidance and support. My husband and I never planned that he would die from his cancer as we were fighting so hard to survive. The morning he passed at 5:30 in the morning after over two days in ICU had been exhausting both physically as well as emotionally. I had just got my children settled and the hospital called to ask who was picking up my husband s body. I haven t slept in close to 72 hours and had no idea. I reached out to friends and Mount Moriah came as a recommendation. I made a call and they were empathetic and understood that I needed to address the hospital needs at that time. They told me they would arrange transport and that I needed to rest and they would follow up with me in afternoon to schedule a time to make plans. They listened to our specific ideas and helped them become a reality. A Celebration of Life Celebration was accommodated at their facility. I highly recommend this facility and even more their compassionate staff. They truly made my husband s service the memory we were trying to create for our family and the community.

It feels good to know that I'm in charge, even in my death. I planned my funeral exactly how I want it to be. I dont want anyone else to have to worry about making any arrangements or decisions during their grief. It really is empowering. I urge everyone to do the same and ease this burden for your loved ones.
