I swear by Baker. The resort is unique because of the friendly culture and snow (quality & levels). I have had some weird experiences with some of the rental staff which I believe may be rooted in bad management and the fact that it's just not a fun job... Other staff members are always friendly though. It's about the boarding/skiing at Baker, and that's what I love.

Great mountain. Big terrain accessible by lifts, tons of snow, and still has the smaller mountain feel of small lift lines and easy to access powder. It may not have the uber-insane terrain and hugeness of some other West resorts, but you cannot beat the value for reliably deep snow and no crowds.

I snow camp at Huntoon Point (by Artist Point) each year, usually park at Heather Meadows lot. The bathroom up there is usually bad. There's a lodge near Heather Meadows and another one at the White Salmon area that had clean restrooms and yummy smelling food! I have not snowboarded here but it seems there's a decent variety of runs. Overnight parking costs $10 now, so if you plan to camp, check the website for details on parking.

Good service with nice slopes, and tons of choices. 8 4 person chair lifts. It would be nice they would clean the chairs for you especially on snowy and rainy days. Most workers do but some dont seem to care. The food is good and customer service is good as well. Because of the record snow fall this resort should be opened longer.

Long way up to the resort .
Pretty beautiful once there but the drive is very long .
Want open when we went but it did dust a little.

Truly one of the most medical placed I've ever snowboarded at. It's a point of strong pride to tell people that I learned to board at Mt Baker. The prices are insanely affordable and the parking is decent. Can't go wrong at all.

Powder! Out of all the ski slopes in the Seattle area, Baker gets the most snow. This smaller resort is worth the scenic, but long drive from Seattle. Views can be fantastic when the clouds part, but don't count on it happening. Decent opportunity for off piste and backcountry skiing (only minor hiking from top of the ski lift).

I've been skiing here since the 80's and it has done nothing but get better! Reasonable prices, lots of snow, 3 nice lodges with decent food & beer and just a short drive from Bellingham. If you haven't been, just go! You won't regret it....

Mt. Baker Ski Area is special. It's its own little thing at the end of its own highway. Consistently no wait on chair lifts, unreal conditions all the time.. Great food, great staff. This is all you can ask for in a Ski Area.

Not to mention.. Baker is deep.

Amazing views when the weather's clear, some fantastic hiking trails if your up for the adventure. Lots of hidden gems I highly recommend visiting during the off season when the snow has cleared. If your from out of state though heads up they do require parking passes in a lot of the park areas. You can get them on site $5 a day keep some cash handy.

Okay first of all, the people here are super friendly and helpful. Second of all, the ski runs are great, but the secret tree runs are where it's at. And third of all, the food (though it might not appeal to some; soups, lots of different salads, wraps, deli sandwiches, and burgers which can range from the normal beef to a teriyaki chicken burger) is delicious, or maybe it just tastes really good because I'm starving and tired.

Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Wasn't too crowded (day after Thanksgiving) even though other mountains were closed. Prices are pretty competitive with other mountains and there is a good variety of slopes (beginner up through steeps/trees/cliffs). Conditions were pretty great if you like powder, snow was a bit sticky due to wet/warm front.

I ve been going here for 20 years, and live in the Seattle where it s easier to go to Steven s or Crystal. Baker has a vibe that other mountains in the area can t touch, and lift lines and prices to go with it.

If you like shredding powder, like serious, world-renowned amounts of powder with open boundaries right next to lifts and drop zones galore (plus insane mountain vistas shared with nice folks), come to Baker. I'm a squaw brat from California and Baker is the opposite of places like squaw or vail which increasingly seek to attract wealthier investors and less true powder nuts than they used to. Baker is down to earth, friendly, affordable, highly shreddable and just straight up beautiful.
