Morton's The Steakhouse, Philadelphia Review

Valentine's date with my girlfiend. Arrived 15 min early for a 8pm reservation. Was giving the option to sit at the bar and wait which was very nice. Bar maid excellent. 10 min after 8 now being seated. This is when the atmosphere began to change. We where seated at a table that was very small. It made my girlfiend uncomfortable. I asked our server that was a very nice gentleman is there anyway that we could be seated at a different table. He said that he would say something to the manager. Appetizers where brought out and finished. The manager appears and ask how is everything. I reply that the table is very small for dinning. Meanwhile I'm observing booths that are unoccupied. I ask was there a way we could change seating, his response was that they are reserved. Ok. I also noticed that some tables where bigger seating 4 but only 2 are occupying these tables and some tables of this size are not being occupied. He ask to remove some appetizer plates and I agreed. He also with hesitation removed a steak knife. We are at a steak house. So the food comes out immediately after he leaves. Now my girlfriend is searching for a steak knife. Uncomfortable table no steak knife and a date with a bad atmosphere. Recommending this place would be shooting from my hip. First time at this restaurant and maybe. Maybe the last. Sorry not sorry.

The food was delicious. Exactly what I expect. The service was.. interesting. While our main server was excellent, the person helping him literally had the tone of "wait your turn". Admittedly, it was restaurant week and the place was hustling.

The food was delicious, I had the Prime Rib and my wife had a New York Strip that was cooked medium rare as requested. We also enjoyed our sides which came at decent proportions. However, what we did not enjoy were the lude comments and unwarranted advances made by our waiter Dave at the King of Prussia location.

It was okay. The lobster bisque was fantastic. The steak okay. The restaurant was dated to me and dark. The place is very in need of renovations and conceptual renewal.

When I m done eating a Morton's meal, for weeks afterwards there are flakes of meat in my mustache and I refuse to clean it because every now and then a piece of meat will fall into my mouth.

I understand a busy Saturday Night on the finial night of restaurant week, but a 7:30 reservation, and dinner served at 9:00. The wait for a steak that was over cooked was disappointing at best. The service couldn t get our orders straight, and the sides were cold. The service for a full meal that is on menu might have rated a higher priority but participating in restaurant week to attract potential clientele or advertise your property this was not a good meal.

Delicious food. FANTASTIC waiter. We had my 2 granddaughters with us and our waiter was superb with our 3 year old.

Nathan was the greatest server ever and the hostess was so nice. Every time we come here our experience is always great. Food was excellent.

It's a great place for a celebratory meal... Will be there this mother's day- delish... and service is spot on

The reservation system does not match the actual times the restaurant is open. The website let's you make reservations for as early as 11:30 am but the restaurant doesn't open until 5 pm. I called the restaurant for an explanation and they didn't make much sense. I doubt its hard to get an online reservation system that works right, especially when reservations are required for certain days.

The price is a bit high but the food is great. The server and service was good also. You price of food is why it's more fancy etc.

this is the best restaurant i ve ever been to. jason, the manager, was so welcoming and nice. he made sure we had everything we needed. we were given bread before our meal and the steak was delicious. they also let you take home the extra sides. courtney, our waitress, was great. the attention to detail even with the busboy was amazing. will definitely come back

Expensive, but well worth it. Great place if your are looking for a good steak. Would definitely recommend.

I got the angus strip and it was rich and flavorful. Everything is alacarte so be ready to shell out some cash.

This was a beautiful restaurant. Too dark in the lighting for me especially when trying to read a black colored menus with soft tan lettering. I personally don't like not knowing how much I'm paying for what I order however the food was not a disappointment other than the lobster bisque. My dining partner said it was not good enough to charge 17$. Our waiter was great. I only kept my reservation because I have respect for wait staff and I didn't want them to lose any income due to me. The over all experience was good but I would NOT go back because the prices did NOT justify the food.

The service has been outstanding every time we have eaten here. The staff at the front remembers us and seats us at our favorite corner booth if it's available. They also are always very nice to my 3 year old which is not always normal at places like this.

The food has never been disappointing. The steamed shared appetizer is always amazing. Any of the three combo dinners are ridiculously good, I learned that you can usually mix and match things from each combo too.

Lamb chops and steaks have always been cooked to order and I never needed any type of sauce.

It is kind of pricy but it's always been worth every cent.

The worst $200+ meal for 2 I ve ever had. Morton s has always been a favorite of ours, but this was absurd. Started by spending 10 minutes finding the host to seat us for our reservation. Drinks took forever. Watched patrons all around us returning meals because of poor quality and prep. My $13 glass of sangria was less than 1/2 full. My $70, 24 oz Porterhouse was flavorless and fatty. Wife s $45 , 6oz filet was the same. Low end grocery store quality at best. Scalloped potatoes were hard and undercooked. I made note, when I made the reservation that we were celebrating our 32nd anniversary. No mention was made, no complimentary dessert or anything. Very disappointing.

The place is nicely decorated candles and clean white table linen. The food, at best was mediocre. The crab cakes were delicious but everything else was not on par with a professional chef in quality, taste or presentation. The last straw was the powder mashed potatoes, with filet mignon? This is a nice place for a intimate date because it is very cozy and high end looking but eat before you come. I m sorry, I wanted to love this place but I just can not.

They try but it's just a steak place at a mall now.

The service was good, as always. The food was ok. We did a special fixed price menu and I don t think the food was the same quality as the regular menu.

Visited this restaurant for the first time today, my wife and I were out celebrating her birthday, this place was a little busier than usual for a Tuesday night, due a big storm that took out the power to the all the other restaurants around the mall, ruth Chris and Sullivan were closed, so instead of taking advantage of that, they over cooked our steaks, took over an hour to come out, the manager came around to ask about the food and I pointed it out he simply said that's how the steak was supposed to be cooked, we will not return to this restaurant, we have been to ruth chris and Sullivan during the busiest time and our food has always been cooked to perfection.

Over priced. Try outback steakhouse same experience less money.

Best steaks around. Cooked perfectly. The au gratin potatoes w/ smoked gouda were amazing. Brussels sprouts were too well done and oily. Onion loaf was delicious with whipped butter. Garlic butter side went well with steak. Great celebratory night out.

I wasn't even here but Google thinks that I was and is recommending I tell you all about it... well it was terrible... I stood outside in the cold and had to watch the happy people leave there after a delicious and elegant dinner while I waited for my wife to finish shopping at DSW for shoes on a Friday night.. just terrible

What can I say...its amazing! Service was top notch and our server Chad was incredibly personable and attentive. The manager Jason chatted for a few minutes was great to talk to. The wagyu ribeye was unlike any steak I've ever had. Outstanding 5 stars!

In my mind the best steak money can buy. I took my senior from Villanova he loved it.

Waited at the table for 25 minutes for ANYONE to come over. The Manager finally came over and said there was a mix up and the Server will be over right away. 10 Minutes later our server came over, apologetic, took our order ...got my overcooked steak, he never apologized, the manager admitted it was overcooked. Thank goodness there are plenty of other steakhouses in Philly/KOP /Radnor to give my money too

Ehh for the prices I was not too impressed. My husband cooks better steaks for me on our grill.

The food was great and the waitress was polite and attentive.

Service was fine, food had Capital Grille prices but definitely not the quality. Wife s Prime Filet steak was cooked fine, but my prime strip Oscar style was cooked well when I asked for medium rare. Salads were soggy with dressing and sides were very underwhelming... thought it was also strange my glasses of wine were listed for $18 but charged at $20 glass, no big deal but didn t make my average experience there any better. Highlight was the bread and butter, wife s prime filet, and carrot cake was decent. Would not recommend going back. go to Barclay prime, del friscos, or capital grille if you re looking to get what you pay for.

Very attentive service! Great recommendations for wine pairings and the steak was so tender I didnt even need a knife.

My family and I were seated quickly. Everything was amazing from our appetizer to our dessert. Our waiter was very kind and made conversation with us which was a plus. The steak is to die for! It s a bit pricy, but for the quality of the meal it s worth it. The place is dim with soft music playing and the restaurant is spotless. Although it s in a mall, once you step into Morton s all the noise from the mall disappears. I recommend checking this place out!

This is our favorite restaurant to dine at in the entire area, if not one of the best that we have dined at from around the world. We always compare every restaurant to Morton's. I completely disagree with the reviews that find this Morton's falling short. I've dined on several occasions and have had nothing short of a great meal with excellent service. The new GM, Dan is incredibly service oriented and has been very easy to work with. Lindsey, the bartender is great as well. The food and service have consistently met my expectations for client meetings and social gatherings. While the restaurant doesn't have the grandiose entrances like others at the mall, it's what is inside that counts. Most recent dining: 2/3/17, 4/15/17, 6/9/17, 6/15/17.

Great service, atmosphere and filet mignon cooked perfect. Sides have gotten smaller sadly but still delicious. Love the option of the prefix 3 course dinner for 45$. Parking Valet and self parking are available. Yes it's pricey but worth the cost. You definitely get what you pay for, high quality cuts of meat and great staff.

Morton's Steakhouse is a good choice for an elegant, upscale dining experience. My wife and I went to Morton's on Valentine's Day. The staff was very polite and friendly. The restaurant even had a special Valentine's Day photo opportunity. If you chose to have your picture taken, you were given a free print with a autographed card from the staff.

For dinner, we were seated in one of the smaller dining areas, which had electronic fireplaces to set a romantic mood. While the ambiance was quite nice, the food is what stood out the most. Our food was prepared quickly and accurately. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, and the restaurant offered a variety of generously portioned, shareable sides. We ordered the potatoes au gratin and creamed spinach, which were fantastic. We look forward to returning to Morton's again for another delicious meal. You will not be disappointed with the quality of food or service. This place is perfect for a date night or a nice small gathering of friends and family.

Went there for Christmas dinner, the service was very good, appetizer was very good but I have had better steaks at other high end steakhouses the ribeyes that we order had to much fat running through it for the cut that they offered.

Had 7:45 p.m. reservations on 10/14/17 for a special family night out. We were seated outside the kitchen in the noisy dining area. Wait staff was extremely slow. 2 Managers stopped by to apologize for poor service. They then let us leave after 2 hours with no entree. They paid for the appetizers and drinks we had. This was a horrible experience for my family and not at all what we expected at Morton's. Very disappointing and unprofessional.

I understand a busy Saturday night, specially during KOP restaurant week. However the following was completely unacceptable; extremely slow service, food barely warm and service lacked attention. Had to ask for a straw 3x. Really straws!

My recommendation would be not to participate in restaurant week unless able to provide the expected service and food quality that aligns with being a high end restaurant!

Worst experience ever!

Expensive but delicious food served ala carte. Even with Covid restrictions, they still have amazing service. It's a steakhouse so if you're vegetarian, not much to choose from but no they do have a couple of seafood options for you!

Went to mortons for our 5 year anniversary and the staff was incredible, the food was delicious, and the setting was very nice. The food took a little bit longer to come out than expected but we also went at 9:45 pm on a Saturday night so thats to be expected. Overall I had a great time and will be back

UMy wife and I took advantage of the Restaurant Week Prix Fixe diinners. I had the Morton's salad which was a little disappointing (basically a Ceasars salad with both iceberg and romaine). My wife had the onion soup which she said was good but extremely hot since it had just come from the broiler..
We both had the 6oz Filet which were flavorful and tender. We had one side each which we split between us: cream spinach and mashed potatoes. They were both good and very large.
I had the creme brulee for dessert which was light and creamy. My wife had the chocolate molten cake which is a few dollars extra. It comes with a scoop of ice cream and caramel on the side. She said it was very good but very rich.
Due to social distancing many tables were not in use. The staff were very attentive and friendly.
We went on a Tuesday evening so there was only one chef. Try to get a table with a view of the kitchen. Watching the chef in action doing everything at once was something else. Our waitress said he has worked there 17 years and it shows.

This visit was nothing less than perfect. Me and my boyfriend made reservations for Valentines day and we were just blown away by everything. The only small issue we had was the fact that I didnt know the steak was charred and I just simply couldn't eat. Not only was the waiter super understanding but so was the manager. They had no issues bringing me out a new steak and even made sure it was cooked perfectly when it came out. We also received an additional complimentary side dish for the wait as well as dessert on the house. If it was not for the server and the manager going above and beyond it could have been a great night gone horribly. I do not remember the names of the server or manager but they were amazing!

First off- I didn't have a reservation on mother's day for this restaurant..we (my family - total of 5) just walked right up and thought we were gonna get turned away and to our surprise they took us in.. let me tell you one thing -THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS..the waitress nicole and staff was very courteous and made us feel very comfortable..they even took a picture of us as a family that we will cherish for our lifetime and a mother's day we will NEVER EVER forget.. I'd recommend you dine in Morton's if your in the area..P.S. - we live 90 minutes away from KOP and on the drive home all my family talked about was Morton's restaurant..

Great staff and atmosphere. The people who work here makes it special. The food however is good but not extraordinary (priced to be extraordinary). Dan behind the bar is a magician. Go before 630 for happy hour and get a negroni. Skip the steaks.

We come every year for our anniversary and have never had anything less than a spectacular experience. The filet mignon melted in your mouth and was very flavorful. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a great special dinner.
