Morgan State House Inn Reviews

Absolutely lovely stay. The inn is well kept and beautifully appointed. We stayed in the fourth floor artist loft and it was nothing short of breathtaking. The walk up the four flights was well worth it for the exposed brick, large en suite soaking tub, and an abundance of natural light from beautiful skylights. One of the most romantic rooms I've ever stayed in!

Breakfast is a help yourself relaxed spread, but the stand outs are most definitely the fresh baked cookies, cakes and muffins. Best enjoyed in the front room overlooking the park.

Parking is available for an additional $10 a night in a secured lot behind the building, however the walk back to the main house at night felt a bit unsafe as the area is pretty run down.

Great stay. If I ever find myself back in Albany for another wedding, I'll definitely be back to the Morgan House!

Beautiful building! Amazing and welcoming staff. Love how unique the rooms are and very well kept. There is an outdoor patio that is perfect to just relax and unwind in. An outstanding combination of history architecture and beauty! Will most certainly stay again and telling everyone I know to stay there when coming to Albany.

Beautiful, pristine, and local. We needed a brief getaway, and this was perfect. The experience was very personal. Everyone was very kind! We will absolutely return!

We stayed at Morgan State House Inn overnight on the way to NYC.
The brownstone is located in the historic district in Albany and there are lots of restaurants within walking distance. The owner went out of his way to accommodate us as we arrived after 6:30 PM, in the dark.
The room was luxurious , inviting and totally charming. The bed was comfortable and we had a spectacular view of Albany at night.
In the morning we had to leave early, so they gave us our coffee in to-go cups and helped us pack up a huge, fresh blueberry muffin and a banana. So happy we decided to stay there!

We only stayed one night, but if time had allowed we'd have stayed longer. The location is perfect for the local restaurants and looks out over the park. The rooms and shared areas look like they have come out of a glossy magazine and were very comfortable and clean. Our hosts were helpful, friendly and welcoming - what more could you ask for.

This is a fine example of pure beauty. Stained glass windows, hand carved woodwork, gorgeous fireplaces. Very friendly and helpful staff. If you like old school craftsmanship you will love this place. Simply breathtaking

Beautiful old four story walk-up. Our room was on the top floor which was interestingly enough, Susan Morgan's art studio. Well appointed, very clean. There was some mention in other reviews about being dated, uh...that's the point. The house is 130 years old and considering it's age it is still in beautiful shape. And as far as someone fussing over us, I'd just as soon be left to enjoy it myself. It actually makes it feel like a home away from home. We really enjoyed our stay.

The Morgan State House was absolutely beautiful right down to every detail! Great location and the best hosts! Highly recommended if you like charming and unique. Certainly not your average accommodations.

Perfect location, beautiful home, and lovely service! I highly recommend if you re looking for a quiet spot to retreat or rest. The building is quiet and Washington Park is a great place to walk around. There are also lots of restaurants in walking distance. Light breakfast is available. My only critique is the bathroom- my tub was a claw foot that was too small to soak in, and the room was pretty small. But this is to be expected for such an old building. All over it was a great stay!!
