The best thing about this airport restaurant was the quality napkin. I am serious. The $17 bacon burger tasted like a frozen dry patty. Crisp black burned flavor on the outside, so dry it zapped the moisture from my mouth coupled with the beer almost made me request an immediate IV of fluids. The caeser salad tasted like no caeser salad I have had before. Still not sure what it tasted like. Not a salad. Other than the dry lettuce. The service, well, terrible. This is not the servers fault, but the restaurant. Two servers for about 40 people. Felt bad for them so thanks to who those were for trying your best with terrible management for staffing. People lined up waiting to be seated with no hostess to be found. Terrible place. Save yourself the $48 meal for a charred burger and two drinks and go get Wendy's fast food next by for a pleasant surprise.

service is pretty non existent, food was flavourless and over priced. I understand we are in an airport and there isn't much choice, but wouldn't come back here again

Reasonably good food for an airport restaurant. The halibut fish and chips was good.

Good for airport options. Considering what is available in the airport this is acceptable.

Good service. Food ok. Does well in a pinch if you are stuck around the C wing of YVR.

Service was super slow. Food was barely warm when served for all three of us. Did not taste great either. My friends said the beer was good, but that's it.

Quick service which is just what I needed at an airport and a tasty chicken club sandwich.

Service is slow considering people in an airport are generally in a hurry. $14 for a burger? Okay I guess... wait, cheese is $2.75? Bacon the same? Ended up with a grilled chicken bacon panini which was very tasty.

Food was subpar at best. Didn't expect to have rats as an appetizer, but saw a large running across the floor twice! One saving grace would've been the beer, but they were all out of everything except Bud.

We wanted to get something to eat in the terminal before we went , but basically EVERYTHING was closed we lucked out to find the only bar/restaurant to eat. Immediately after we sat down they began to tell people that they were not open anymore at 830ish. Our server was super nice and did a great job and the food wasn't half bad, a little airport expensive but hey. At about 10 minutes to nine older man tried to walk in and the bartender who was cleaning and closing up said were closed he was super rude and the person asked where can i go to eat the bartender just looked at him and shook his head at the guy and walked away...what I witnessed was maybe the rudest i have ever seen a person be in hospitality to a guest and that restaurant should reconsider him working there, and maybe give our waitress a promotion cuz she was great. Expensive and not that good. I had a standard breakfast and it was not very good.

Smells like rotten chicken, they make a good old fashioned though

Went for lunch and beers before my flight. Wasnt too impressed with the beer selection. Very basic. Had the prime rib au jus. Very tasty. Service was fine. Was it worth the high prices prob not.

Had the fish and chips was very good. Plus the service was excellent.

Staff was friendly if not overly attentive, although that was perfect for my state of mind as I was in a 30 hour in and out round trip. food was excellent!

I don't know why Google says it's an "$$$" restaurant. This is an ordinary place to get food at the airport, and the fact that it's always so very busy is perhaps somewhat of a testament to the fact that Monk's is a rung above the fast food available at the airport.

I ordered a Stella; I got a Stella. I ordered a prime rib dip; I got a prime rib dip. Really, it's about what you'd expect: fairly fast, filling, and generally satisfying. 'Nuf said.

There s serving peoples like robots! ...not interested if it not about the menu!

3.5 stars for probably the only decent place to grab a bite or a drink while waiting for your connecting flight. Prices are typical for this kind of area.

Been here twice on Two separate trips and the food is good, but the service is painfully slow and no one wants to look after you. Hard to order drinks, and no one checks up. Food frequently sitting on the pass for 5 minutes before a server takes it.

Poor service. Because I'm travelling alone I've been made to feel like they want me to leave because I'm at a table. At this point my bill is over $60 and the waiter keeps walking past me. Very disappointing welcome to BC

Like the reviews say, food is mediocre at best. Ordered a Monk burger, Nothing out of the ordinary, a grilled frozen patty with no taste and has you questioning whether they are actually made of beef or some other substance. Overpriced beer and food but that sums up airport restaurants.

The staff was great, as fast as they could be with the quality of management they had backing them. Food came out slow and poorly made. Could be a good place if someone with experience was running it. The bar tender was working really hard, getting slammed and got no support.

Good bar with good service at the Vancouver air port. I always end up at this place when I'm at waiting at the gate.

For starters, as a travelling business person I am in airports a couple times per week and I have never experienced the horrendous level of customer experience that I just had there. I had about 15 minutes before boarding and thought that I would have a quick pint. Knowing I didn't have time to order food I pulled the sandwich out of my bag that I had purchased a few hours earlier, only to be rudely informed that I wouldn't be served my beer unless I put away my sandwich. I understand that they serve food, but with only 15 minutes, it's hard to imagine them being able to prepare a meal and me having time to eat it. We are in a pandemic and I know that they arent so freaking busy that they can afford to turn away paying customers. Not only that but the bartender (the Philippino gentleman) was rude and clearly didn't care about my business. I frequent this restaurant regularly, but that will be the last time I step food in this establishment. Dont support this business.

Really fast service and food. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. I've been a few times and this time is no exception; this is a great spot to stop when on layover.

Always good food. Service can be a bit slow at times.but overall good spot to grab a bite to eat.

Time for a menu change and it is getting quite tired looking

The worst food we ve had in a restaurant in decades. It was so terrible that we left most of our steaks (definitely not Alberta Beef), paid the bill (way overpriced) and actually went to eat another meal somewhere else. Staff were nice enough but the food was really really awful.

Kind of my go to place for food when I am hungry and traveling for work

Fantastic food. Supper great service, very friendly staff, prices are reasonable you will not leave hungry.

I pass through monthly and they are always patient with our group of loud and obnoxious guys, usually a group of 6. The food is pretty good and they have pretty much what you want for drinks. We appreciate our stop here every time.

Nothing fancy, but a good place to grab a bite at the airport. Service was quick so we were able to eat quickly and catch our flight

The food was OK but way overpriced, the service was awful. Definitely don't eat here unless you have a long layover and no other options. They never refilled our drinks or asked us if we wanted anything else, and it took 20 minutes to get the bill. We were completely ignored until we made a fuss. Awful.

If you arehungry and thirsty it's an acceptable place to grab a meal while you weird for your plane. They can seat you quite the bar if you are solo. Meals aren't cheap, and the drinks are pricey.

Slow and bad service from terrible staff that will make you miss you flight, for overpriced (bad) food. Eat anywhere else in the terminal.

Over priced, food ok. Burger was dry.
Service almost non existent. Especially for an airport location. 30min wait for a burger 20mins more for coffee & dessert. By the time I had paid my flight was boarding. Had to stand up to get my waiters notice I was leaving.

Have eaten here often with no real complaints. West Coast Beni is wonderful. Staff could be more customer oriented with details but they are friendly.

There were TWO hairs in our burger!! Beyond disgusting! The rest of the food was greasy, bland, and cold. Service was slow and they were indifferent when we showed them the two black gross hairs in our food. Yuck!

Decent food service and the way they handled tables was iffy

I dont usually take the time to write negative reviews but this was the worst bar experience I have ever had. 10 minute wait to even be acknowledged while already sitting at the bar with plenty of employees working. Rude staff and cold food that took about 40 minutes to come out. I work in bar industry so I recognize when things are unexpectedly busy, however the bartenders were so horrible and had zero time management skills when the place wasnt even full. I would only recommend coming here if you have several hours to kill and you arent planning on eating.

Comfy little bar, I only had a pint of beer but it was a nice place to spend time waiting for my flight. Little pricey though at $11.03 for a pint before tip.

You can guarantee that any airport food will be expensive. What really hurts is when you re trapped in an airport paying said expected price for bad food and bad service. Neither of these were my case today! Thank you for the amazingly delicious gluten-free seafood tacos (I don t always even like seafood) and friendly and attentive service. If you want, and are willing to pay for a meal vice a muffin at YVR on the domestic side, check it out.

Crab cakes and soup of the day. Crab cakes delicious. Soup OK.

The food was good. However the hostess seemed like the customers were a hindrance to her.

Great wings, wonderful for a bite before flying. Had to ask for 3 different beers before they had one ready though

Not worth the price, food is of poor quality, service is very slow. Hard to justify going again, you'd get the same quality food from the Starbucks you have to walk past to get there.

Service was really good. It was smoking busy but the food and drinks came quickly.

Ordered the chicken panini came out cold. I told waitress returned with the same panini and it was evident the chicken was taken out thrown into microwave and returned to me. Gross food all around.

An uninspired menu with great service (when not too busy). A perfectly average experience.

Was seated at a table where the seat cushion was totally ripped and stuffing exposed. Took 10 min to get approached by server. Sister had cup of soup which she said was ok but cost $8. Kale salad was so salty and full of kale stems. Cost $19 and it was an appetizer size. Would never go back.

Food is can be fairly pricey(probably because it's in an airport) but some of the food lacks flavour and other things,the taste is not great as I had the mac n cheese and the soft drinks they serve are very diluted
