Appalled by the story I just read about them pulling out Senior's gardens for "uniformity."
So far they have fixed things that have broken and the neighbors are cool.
Monarch is forcing residents to remove gardens, seating in front of their homes. They prefer to offer an ugly rock landscape and overpriced box to live in as opposed to a sense of pride, home
and community in their complexes. They totally disrespect the importance of community and gardening to the seniors whose money they gladly take. Shameful.
They're asking all residents to remove all plants, bushes and trees from the property so they can make it more "uniform." How much more mean spirited can they be when treating seniors?
We want to complain about dishonesty from Matt, who works for Valley Apartments. We have paid for application fee of 70 dollars and 600 dollar deposit on August 18th 2020 for two bedroom apartment on housing voucher program.. Matt have told us multiple times that we do not have to pay for the rental insurance because we are on a voucher. He told us before we paid for application fee and deposit of total amount of 670 dollars.We had an appointment with Matt on September 11 2020 when he showed us an apartment for the first time and we have asked him for a letter saying that we do not have to pay for renters insurance and we have not received anything from him stating this.We have asked him for proof of no renters insurance on august 17th 2020 before we paid the money Matt said he will and never did. Instead we got a message saying we have to pay the rental insurance. I don't like being lied to and this is very fraudulent behavior. This is the 2nd email that is asking us to pay for renters insurance. How we are going to trust people like Matt who represent Valley Apartments. We want to work with honest people. We are very disappointed and we want our money back.
Also the apartment number 18 has bad carpet with big hole on it with many pet's hair on it. Also the carpet inside isn't new and has many colorful stains, the bathroom tub is old and has chipping paint and the toilet bowl is in bad condition. We paid $ 670 on August 18th and only seen apartment for the first time on September 11th.
I'm saddened to think I had to move into the Hobbs Apts. This place is terrible. I've been to visit friends in the other apartments they own and they are really nice. I just dont understand why they never pay any attention to this place. It's like the ghetto. While their other apartments have air conditioners we have swamp coolers. Not good at all. And bug city. I've been trying for months to get rid of these things. I hate them with a passion. The exterminators that they have dont do anything. They are in your house for a few minutes and then leave. It takes longer than that to exterminate but again I guess if they dont live with them why should they care. Otherwise these apartments could be nice but nothing gets done to make that happen.
I strongly advise to look elsewhere. Monarch does not care about you or the work environment they put you in. I was harassed daily by residents, I had to call the cops almost everyday. Your regional supervisor (JoAn) will not help and if you do ask for help she never knows the answer. She is very under trained. I was put at two properties in the middle of a pandemic and I had no one to train me. Thank goodness for Britney in compliance who help me when I was so lost in the first few months. You have to use your own Vehicle to get back and forth with no reimbursement for mileage or wear and tear on your vehicle. They say they will pay you one amount on here but to find out they pay $15 an hour which in low income and you could qualified to stay at one of their HUD housing apartments. Maintenance will quit on you every two months because their properties never have money to fix anything. One of the HUD properties I work for is falling apart. I feel so bad for the residence there, there is a busted pipe every day, there s about 57 clamps holding these pipes together. Floors are falling in because of water damage. Other properties refuse to help or ignore your emails altogether if you do ask. Regional manager makes excuses and will not fix them but makes you deal with the residence on this problem.
The way Teresa treated the staff shows what she s like. We had a great staff and she s getting rid of them as soon as she can. No notice nothing just you re not needed anymore. I m so disgusted with the way that she acts. Older people consider the staff family. And one staff member let go was told they were cared about too much. UNBELIEVABLE!!
Monarch properties in my experience has always been on time for the important issues of tenant to manager relations.
People are rude an never return your call. Ill never rent from this company Thay are nothing but Slum lords...thay take your $$$$.
