Love Molbak's! Tons of selection and very knowledgeable staff.
Always the best place to shop for anything garden and to have a tasty lunch. All the employees we spoke with were helpful and seemed genuinely happy to assist.
prices are a little high. but the plants are in top notch shape and the facility is in excellent shape. we used to frequent flower world in maltby, but now we go to molbaks most of the time. selection in the shade area is second to none. so More
I always look forward to a Molbak's trip when visiting my sister's home in the area. Love the ambiance and quality. See you in early March.
This place is huge! It s a good place to go for all of your interior and exterior design goals.
I love going to Molbaks you just need to make an appointment with a time and day. Great place to walk around in.
It's a wonderland of personal and home, decor, clothes and more.
Employees were full of knowledge and quite the educators about safe house plants! Thanks for the great customer service!
Amazing decor and thousands of plants. Pretty spendy.
Wonderful place to visit. Great staff. Photo opps galore.
Molbak's is one of the best nurserys around the north end of Seattle.
Was treated rudely by a cashier . Inquired whether she would be willing to markdown a figurine that was damaged. Made me feel like I was asking something very unusual and she wasn t very kind. I didn t mean to overstep, I was just asking because it was damaged and thought maybe they would reduce it.
Great selection of plants and gardening supplies. Note they require reservations to shop, but if not busy they will let you in
Very helpful and friendly staff. Was shopping for small tree and shrubs. Helped me with my queries, helped load tree on cart and rolled to billing. A+
Four of us waited ten minutes in line to check out with multiple purchases while one employee was on the phone, and a security guy just stood there. Finally I suggested the security guy call another checkout person. Unacceptable in an otherwise classy place.
The place is very good lucking, great variety of plants, nice garden stuff. The only problem is that this place is very expensive. In average any plant that I picked cost around 18 dollars, medium to small size plants I refer. I bought a tiny cactus for 7 dollars.
I love this place! Molbaks is an awesome place to go to if you want to get different high quality plants and learn about how to take care of them. I dinged a star, because they are super pricey. I can only afford to buy plants there once a year, but I go all of the time to enjoy the scenery.
Exceptional customer service, and prices you can't beat anywhere else.
I love coming here! The employees were so helpful and kind and they had such a large selection of all kinds of plants and it was just an amazing experience overall!
The expense is worth pleasant customer service & quality of products purchase
OVERPRICED! One tomato plant costs $30. Similar sizes at Home Depot or Lowe's are $20 and Walmart $15. Neon pothos Fred Meyer sells a bigger size at $12.99; Molbak's sells it for $25 and some of them even look a little beat up. For the prices here, I would expect to see plants with premium quality and care; however, it is usually not the case...
Good selections overall but I would only come here for plants that I could not find anywhere else locally.
Jonathan Milstein loves this place for all gardening needs.
One of the nicest nurseries I've ever been to. Worth the trip even if you're not buying anything. It's fun to browse around. You can spend the day, they serve food at their lunch counter.
I love the variety.... Always come here around Christmas time, it is a treat
Fantastic selection and quality with good service. Prices are higher but you get what you pay for. Their general merchandise and pots I would buy elsewhere. Been coming here for over 20 years and it's still a favorite.
I saw some people say that Home Depot is a better/cheaper alternative. I was curious so I dropped by a few Home Depots - while their outdoor plant selection is good (though a fraction of the selection), the indoor plants was a joke (small selection of succulents and other cheaper plants I've never heard of). Not much of an alternative, I still feel that Molbaks is a far better spot.
The displays are super beautiful and the staff are very helpful.
Always lovely! Getting Christmas decor set up. So nice to still be able to shop and browse!
This is for the cafe: service is really bad for the prices they have. Not recommended.
Expansive selection of plants and gardening goods. It it set up and laid out thoughtfully with sections that even cater to the Instagram crowd. I would definitely return.
This place is AWESOME! I have never been to such an expansive indoor garden center. There is even an area to eat in the middle. If you are there around Christmas, check out the 'Christmas Story' town display.
Once my favorite place to go for garden items.
Now only 2nd or 3rd choice.
Biggest problem for me is that veggie starts (esp. corn) are often completely out even in "prime time" for starting a vegetable garden (e.g., in May).
Last year I stopped by several times to find each time that they were out of starts.
I took to calling which saved me a trip but in the end, after several "No not now. Maybe next week..." I gave up and went to Medina. (Which I recommend as smaller and more personal).
A medium sized nursery well staffed with friendly experts, Molbak's is a good place to turn to when you need some advice or are looking for inspiration. Conveniently located in downtown Woodinville, shopping and food options are relatively close by after you've worked up your appetite browsing the bright and airy nursery grounds.
Thus far all the plants we've purchased from here have been healthy and parasite-free.
A solid 4.5 star establishment.
Pros:
+ Knowledgeable, approachable, and available staff
+ Ample parking in a convenient location
+ Healthy plants
+ Clean
+ Logical layout
So-so's:
= A bit pricey
Cons:
- None
This is a favorite stop no matter what the season. They always have beautiful things displayed, not just plants, but all sorts of items. The staff is very helpful and well informed if you do have a plant question. I love the gift shop as it has unique and high quality items.
No Common Sense Here! Just visited the Christmas display shop. It was a very busy afternoon, lots of shoppers and seen easily 10 dogs from 6 inches to 4 feet tall (yes, 4 feet tall)? Honestly, I don't know what people are thinking, but if the nursery allows dogs, fine take them to the outdoor section, not the indoor breakable ornament section. We even saw a labradoodle try to jump on a lady passing by (she wasn't engaging the dog, it just lunged at her). In less than an hour me and my daughters allergies were at an all time high, we were all stuffed up and sneezing like crazy. Then as we were standing in line at the cashiers, a woman watched her daughter tear beads off of an ornament so she could jab her finger into it, I guess because it was spongy????? What the heck, this place is a zoo, not a high end gift shop as it appears and prices dictate. We came to enjoy a leisurely holiday girls afternoon out to get into the holiday spirit and left incredibly stressed out. If this place wants to allow their establishment to be a dog park, then staff should at least be policing poor customer behavior. This place even has a restaurant ~ I wouldn't eat there with that many dogs around. Come to enjoy the petting zoo, forget about coming to shop in a relaxing, dog hair free environment.
Great plant nursery. Tons of selections and a very knowledgeable and helpful staff.
Recently got several plants and containers here. Amazing selection!
As a landscaper I have to say, the plants are good. But the prices are outrageous.
my mom works there and has worked there for over 20 years and it is her first job and i get to help there even tho i don't work there. And ive met the C.E.O. and he is freakin lit. my mom says he has a billion dollars so now i can tell my friends that i have met a billionare. has greay vending machines and christmas stuff is really cool.
The gentleman in the outdoor area was extremely helpful and knowledgeable re my questions about fruit trees. So rare to find these days. Thank you!
It's a fun place to check out. I'd only buy a specialty plant here if it's not available elsewhere because they are expensive. Non-plant items are way overpriced! The staff are friendly and helpful.
Fabulous Garden center with a lovely cafe and upscale items...
Love it! They have great service and great products.
Meh...OK selection of plants but ridiculouslly overpriced. Stay away from the orchids especially - a 2.5" masdevallia that's not even in bud for $29.99? I think not.
Molbak's Garden + Home has a wide selection of healthy plants. Great merchandising makes it really easy if you don't have an eye for design. The plants are healthy and hearty. My favorite however, is their selection of Agave's and Cacti!
All of the staff is knowledgeable and always more than happy to answer any questions you have. Furthermore, they walkout always walk you to the section you are looking for rather than just pointing you in the right direction.
This might have been because it's between seasons. But I was shocked by the lack of garden decor in such a large place. Their social distancing measures are really great, and their plant selection is decent. A little on the expensive side. It's really a nice place to go and look around. I just wish there was a larger variety of indoor plants and garden decor.
We go holiday shopping here every year. It was beautiful, but somehow less "fun" this time. More elegant, and less holiday items. Love the quality of their poinsettias.
Go for the cafe not the plant selection. Flower World for fairly priced plants but the cafe and wine tasting is a hit
The variety of plants is amazing! People there are very knowledgeable and friendly. We ate lunch there and all of us were disappointed in our food. Otherwise it was a great experience and we'll be back!
Their staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable! We came in with some completely random questions about bonsai and they were on top of it. Very good quality plant starts in the spring, too.
Massive selection of plants year round, knowledgeable staff to help you get exactly what you need for the next garden project.
A bit old-lady kitschy, and not a lot of nontraditional plant selections. A lot of overpriced stuff, but a whole lot of it. However, I visited after Christmas, and I suspect that was the worst time to visit.
Definitely worth a visit, but I was not blown away by the selection of plants. I would come back for the orchids though.
I think Bark and Garden in Olympia is still the best one I've been to thus far.
They won't tell you over the phone if a certain plant is in stock there or not, making you drive many miles and wasting your time to try and make a sale on something else.
If you love plants you have to come here. They have plenty to choose from.
Visited during stay at home orders and they are a delight. You have to reserve a spot right now, for safety reasons, but once inside there are tons of outdoor/indoor plants. Their inside area has dining available and a bunch of niche items like jellys, backpacks, furniture, etc. Definitely going back after quarantine is lifted to get the whole experience
Beautiful quality, great selection, but priced a little high. Still, a wonderful shopping experience and I never seem to leave empty handed!
My wife and daughter love this place. Bring your wallet because it's easy to find stuff you didn't know you needed.... -__-
Amazing plant selections, beautiful layout of the store year-round, helpful staff, unique inventory. I get lost in here every time I come in, and that's a fantastic thing.
Molbak's condones racial discrimination by its employees. My Asian mother was simply asking for assistance from an employee to which the employee stated (in front of many other customers) "I don't speak your language". After my mother's attempt to ask her again and ignore the blatantracial bias the employee simply walked away and left her standing there, publicly humiliated. The management at Molbak's feels that it was simply a misunderstanding and that it provides their employees a learning experience. The employee suffered no consequences. Apparently publicly humiliating and discriminating against asians is no big deal to this company.
Molbak's is an absolute delight. They pretty much always have what I want, even though they're smaller than some nurseries. Houseplants, landscaping plants, garden plants and starts, you name it. Also have a big selection of pots. Really nice environment. Their cafe is in a spot with a literal tree growing in the middle. And their staff was very helpful when I brought in a leaf from a sick plant that I'd gotten from them a whole year ago (I made the plant sick, not them). My one complaint is that their prices are so high. But honestly it's worth going anyway, it's such a fun place to shop.
Great place for plants and plant accessories. Also a good place to kill some time wandering the greenhouses and get plant/gardening advice from people who actually know what they're talking about.
