Wish there is 0 star in rating. It's no more same old mitra samaja which I used to visit from my childhood. Tasted goli bajje and masala dose today evening, it was biggest disaster both were tasting bitter ( not just mine but Full family members experience). Mostly they were using very old oil which used earlier. When i complained same with waiter wearing glasses he littrly ignored my comments and walked away. During paying bill I passed same feedback to girl sitting in cash counter, sad part is she was not in mood to listen feedback. Felt very bad with kind of response they gave.

A small restaurant which claims they invented the masala dosa.they do not use garlic and onion. Best place to try the authentic Goli Baje which is Very tasty, crispy and always served fresh in the evening hours...Masala Dosa, Sambar Idly, Puri and the Buns along with Coffee and Badam Halwa everything is equally good here. Service is fast and the Staffs are good.

if you stop by at udipi and you are food lover then make sure have a break fast at Mitra Samaja. especially on early morning hrs (before 8PM). you will see very less variety of food item but its awesome.. especially Upma.. last but not least do not forget to drink the coffee.. if you are a coffee lover then taste the best coffee at here.. you might have tasted many flavors @ starbucks but nothing like this..

Ambience - 5* Popularity - 5* Food taste - 5* Economical - 4* Hygiene - 4* Overall - 4.5* + Best local food in the entire city, just next to Shri Krishna temple. Don't forget to give a visit. The must have items are golibaje and chutney, idli sambhar and Chutey, Mangalore buns, vada sambhar and chutney, biscuit rotti, masala dosa, paper masala dosa, sheera, sajjige-bajil, refreshing juices etc.

Didn't like the taste of golibajje much, just felt it was average .I have to mention the coconut oil in the crust changes the taste considerably .The massala dosa was good nothing exceptionally great. The chutney and tea was good.Pricing ,service ,cleanliness was good .

The comforting music from the temple in the backdrop of an iconic old vegetarian restaurant that has served tens of thousands of customers over the decades gave me that Udupi vibe I was looking for. This is the kind of place you would regularly visit with your family and create memories. The masala dosa isn't any different from what you get at other places, though that gentleman of a waiter is such a rarity these days.

Once you are done with Udupi Krishna darshan the next stop is Mitra samaj located on the parallel road to temple in a small place. This place gets tourists as well localities alike. Mysore bonda and buns r popular apart from Dosa and other south Canara dishes they serve.

Goli baje.....one of the famous dish here Which you can taste when you are in Udupi. Food served hot and fresh, service is fast enough. Evening resturant get crowded and may need to wait for the seating place. Location of the resturant is close to anantheshwara temple, inside the Krishna temple area. Worth visiting for experience local cuisine. I have visited this resturant many number of times. Thus time I went with my dad and ordered 2 plate Goli baje and 2 malt. Cost us Rs 102.

Mitra samaj hotel is a neat and clean restaurant located within the Sri Krishna Temple Complex right across the ratha beedi. This place is famous for goli/mysore/mangalore bhaji. The bhaji is freshly prepared after you order and will melt in your mouth. You also get other south indian dishes and I tried button idli and the sambar was so good. Prices are on a higher side but quality was good.
