Every time I go to Missouri Star for ideas or ways to make new quilts, I come back with so many I don't know where to start. Even when you order something the care and interest that the crew shows is Outstanding. They give me stories made up one what I've bought . It is such a pleasure to do business with Jenny and Staff.
Great time watching our wives enjoy their visit, need more man things to do though.
Went to the store this weekend and was in we of what they have done for the town of Hamilton! Take your husbands shopping...they are opening a man's cave with recliners, tvs, and a pool table. Smart move!
Worth the drive. Quilter's Paradise. Everything needed to make that special quilt or pillow. A small town with dozens of stores filled with hundreds of fabrics and patterns.

Way to commercial lized. Over priced. No longer a small town store. People are arrogant and not helpful. You never see anyone sewing or machines out. It's all about money. Not about the people. And you never see the lady that does the videos. What an over priced place. Even the places to eat are way over priced. My friend and I both got salad and tea. Cost us each $15.00 plus a tip.. For a regular salad WOW. Won't go back.

Absolutely amazing. There is so much variety here and so many different stores too! It is a fantastic place for the whole family, the quilt lovers can look around in the shops while the non-quilt lovers can sit in "Man's Land" where they have leather seats in front of a television playing old western films and a pool table at the back.
This just an awesome place! Susan, Edith and I had a wonderful time we will return soon!

Great youtube videos! I'm addicted to checking out the daily deal but the material on sale tends to be very traditional and not fun/modern. I've ordered 1 time from them and it was an "ok" experience. The website language makes it seem like your order will get processed and shipped very quickly, which wasn't the case for me. I couldn't find anywhere on the site where it said how long processing time and shipping time would be. I needed my items in a hurry, so I called after 3 or 4 days to check the status of my order after hearing nothing about it being shipped. The person who answered was very friendly and helpful. She got my order sent out that day. Unfortunately, my order was missing one of my items, so I had to make a special trip out to a local store to buy it. I got refunded promptly for my missing item though. I would buy here again if I did not need something quickly. It's great to support family businesses rather than big chain stores.

After watching Jenny s tutorials, it was very nice to visit a couple of shops. My recommendation is to go later in the day to avoid crowds. We found the staff to be very helpful.
Lots of patterns, cloth. I would have liked to see machines available for sale, videos for instruction were mentioned but I saw none for purchase. That was a little disappointing.
I love Missouri Star Quilt Co.and Jenny Doan! Their prices are great and Jenny makes quilting look easy. She explains every step and makes her blocks easy to follow, and she does it all as if you were right in the room with her...on the other side of the table! The "daily special" is always remarkable. I'm sold on this site.

Loved my trip there last summer, wish I could go back this year. All the ladies who waited on us my sister in law went with me, were all so nice, they took their time and made sure we had all we needed, and answered all our questions, thanks Jenny for a great experience.
It has been a dream of mine to visit this place for almost a decade. We were visiting my in-laws just over an hour away and made a morning trip. It was so much more than I had imagined. Friendly staff, clean like you wouldn t believe. Tons of restrooms. The only drawback was I was hoping to find a unique pre-quilted fabric. This is not actually a quilted fabric. It s a design, often paisley, that has been gone over with a long arm usually in a small, diamond or square pattern. None of the staff even understood what I was asking for. I would not lower my star rating as this is not typically used for quilting. Just thought it would be something they carried. The staff did try to suggest where it may be located after I showed them a picture. I also did not see any quilt kits that included all fabric material needed. Saw some but all needed purchase of additional fabric for backing. Not a huge deal, but not a complete kit. Again this does not affect star rating as this was just something that made me wonder. The correlating YouTube channel (I ve been watching almost since it began) is the reason I can quilt. The videos explained everything to me I needed to know to start and have helped me become better. The tutorials range from, cutting, ironing, patterns, etc. the videos are easy to follow and show excellent views of Jenny working. Most videos do some of these things but not all. Due to this I can only imagine how great her in person workshops are. My MIL has met her when she came to her church to teach a lesson on how to care for family heirloom quilts. She described Jenny as lovely and kind.

My daughters and I went on a quilting retreat in January of 2015. We had a wonderful time. The local sandwich shop/bakery was wonderful. It was fun to sew and then shop for more fabric. Thanks for helping us create a great core memory.
I don't quilt,but if I did,I'm sure this would be the place to go. There are plenty of stores to chose from for whatever your needs are. There's also a place for the men to hang out while the women shop,I loved that!

Quality fabrics and amazing staff who make it fun to shop. There were endless amounts of fabrics to choose from and so many more I wanted only to find out this was one of FOUR stores. I was only able to visit two but they had everything a person could ask for. They also had a great selection of quilting books and tools to choose from. I would recommend every quilter to visit MSQC and be ready to have fun and splurge!!!

I ordered fabric from this store a week ago Friday, by the following Wednesday I received several emails soliciting the business, efforts of constant contact. I called that day as I received nothing about shipment of the order and was informed that my fabric had been cut the night prior. A commitment was made to get the fabric out that day (Wednesday) and I would have by Saturday. I still don't have the fabric. Will I order again? With all the companies out there.... nah. I have enough stress in my life. My thoughts are if you are not in a hurry ... go ahead.
I placed an order for pre-cut fabric the end of September. Its a long boring story but it is now October 17th and I still don't have my fabric (which was nothing that had to be cut). I need the fabric to make Pennants for a festival in 2 weeks. I have reached out by email a few times and the response time is slow and not reliable. Finally Kelly answered my email and said that it was transferred to USPS and it would be delivered on the 16th. She said she would give me the tracking number which she didn't. Still hasn't answered my email. So today I finally called and spoke with Misty she looked into the problem and didn't understand what was taking so long. Told me I needed for call USPS. Called them, on hold for 60 minutes. They said is was sent by boat and won't be here for at least 2 more weeks. UGH! So I called MSQ back and spoke with Misty. I asked her to 2nd Day Air the products to me and I would send the others back when and if they arrive. She said her manager said they can't get it here in time. Hello I get things sent overnight from New York to Hawaii all the time. I live in the USA not Europe. She said her manager would go speak to the shipping department and would call me right back. Four hours later still not call back. So I emailed Misty and finally the manager (Andrea?) called me back. Said there is no way to send the package to me. I said what of you mean? We can't send 2nd day air. Yes you can, its easy. She assured me it wasn't going to happen. Need-less-to-say I am very disappointed with this and I see that customer service is not a priority for this company. Its a shame that they can't make things right. That's what makes a good company great, customer service, which this company lacks. The only reason I am giving them 1 star at all is because Misty was very kind and tried to help to the best of her ability. Won't purchase from them again.

Nice fabric at fine prices. Shipping of online orders and replying to emails is ridiculous. After a week of waiting for my order to ship, I emailed them to cancel the order. It took 5 days for them to respond and cancel my order.
My experience has been with tutorials. Because of your wonderful teaching techniques, I have been able to use the 'Big Star' pattern for the center of two twin-size quilts with extra drop down on sides, and my own design for the remainder. All done on sewing machine. Had to use what I had on hand which was a white sheet and a jelly roll in blues. Worked!
I am a beginner at 78, but I DESPERATELY NEEDED these quilts as my ailing 85 years old husband and I have gone to twin beds.

I have been a customer for awhile, but I don't order from here unless I have plenty of time for my stuff to arrive. The shipping is slow. It takes a week, or more, just to get an order shipped out. Then another few days for it to be delivered to you. I have never had anything shipped the same day, even the orders made at 4 am.
This place is amazing. The small town of Hamilton, Missouri welcomes quilters from all over the world with gracious hospitality, warm smiles, a spectacular array of fabric in about a dozen shops, good sandwiches, coffee & baked goods, quilting inspiration extraordinaire, and delightful little surprises.

For precuts, notions, etc., the customer service and shipping is incredible fast and there's an enormous selection. Every order that I've had with precuts, charm packs, jelly rolls, etc., have all come within a week. The tutorials are clear, easy-to-follow, and great for getting ideas for new projects.
The only negative is if you want yardage - - it can take quite a bit longer. If there's no rush, it's no big deal. But it can take a while.
So if you're shopping for precuts, notions, or looking for a tutorial, this place is great. If you're shopping for yardage, go to your local quilt shop for better service.
Oh my.....so much fabric; so little time (and money... ;-). What a heavenly place for any quilter.
If you like quilting you have to visit this place. MSQ resides in a quaint little town consisting of 14 (yes, 14) very nice quilt shops/venues, plus some very good restaurants with a craft brewery nearby. Also a <free> room where non-quilters can pass the time with recliners, TVs and a billiard table! Some nice little junktique stores are also scattered about. I'm a 61 year old male that doesn't quilt - yet I thoroughly enjoyed taking my wife that does.
This is a very cool place. I went there with my wife and im not into sewing but it was a pretty cool. Also they have a mans den where the guys can hang out watch tv, sleep, play pool etc

Everything about this quilting town is FABULOUS! It's not just a quilt store but a whole town dedicated to quilting with many different quilt shops that have everything you could need for quilting fabrics and supplies and plenty of inspiration!

Saw my sister s quilt and had to have some wolly fabric (gorgeous and high quality) to get back into a bit of quilting. I called to order today s special and received superb help and service.
I have really enjoyed the videos and website. It was what got me interested in quilting. and sewing. I have ordered lots of things from the site and while I do think shipping could be faster at times (amazon does set the standard) , it is the only real complaint I have. I just used the quilting services and I really couldn't be happier. From the first phone call to ask about how to even do it to when I received them today===service and the finished product was excellent. Every phone call was answered with such kindness and encouragement. I was a total rookie and I was very pleased with how kind everyone was......even the hand written note from Mindy in shipping with my two finished quilts!!! I will continue to use them. Very very pleased.

A little pricey for machine quilting but quality and helpful staff lessens sticker shock. As a new quilter, what a thrill to visit the renewed shops of Hamilton. A true destination, thanks to Jenny and her family. And get lost in all that fabric!
