Quality exhibitions, the museum that you do not expect, really worth visiting

Interesting museum, with often high-level exhibits. Perhaps there would be a need for a little more information on the works, given that, since the museum is quite small, there would be plenty of time to do an in-depth study work by work.

I have never visited it as a museum, I only go to study and I feel comfortable because it is quiet and welcoming

Gallarate undoubtedly needed more but, it seems, the artistic flair grips its joints transversally, which starting years ago from colored manholes, have gradually built this ugly (from outside) place. The exhibits return mixed and fluctuating results but, beyond the tastes, we see how these are too sporadic and without a minimum common denominator at the base to unite them, let alone, without fixed installations worthy of interest. In short, from the feeling of the typical caravan to abandonment, without anyone who really wants to manage it (or who is capable of it) and put there it is not clear in honor of what. Typical Italianity.

Fantastic the Missoni exhibit I would say also unique in its kind must !!

It's important collection of modern and contemporary art, located in the important palace, constructed with static principles of modern euripean architecture. In the second floor the Missoni'patchwork collection appears. The building structured on a bold multiple semi-bent and equipped with a bold archway with an effect between full and empty comparable to Anish Kapoor, houses in bright exhibition rooms concerning Italian art of the 1900s and boasts a section dedicated to the Missoni maison.

Particular museum that represents very well the excellences of the province.

MAGA, a contemporary art gallery in Gallarate that is not limited to the exhibition moment, but offers meetings, visits, moments of sharing for all age groups. There is a WIFI room where you can work freely on a computer and an excellent bar for a break. In summer you can also enjoy a large outdoor area.

I went to the MA * GA on the occasion of a wonderful initiative: Sunday, January 29, 2017, the high school students from Gallarate led the public to discover the museum and (the entrance to the MA * GA is also free throughout the day). Highly prepared and loose boys in the exposition of the contents to be a third high school (congratulations also to the teachers involved in the project who were able to involve and motivate their students).

The Gallarate art museum (MAGA), known Civic Gallery of Modern Art of Gallarate.
Il Maga, in March 2010 in an architectural complex of 5,000 square meters and with a collection that today has 5,500 works. There is a specialist library, there are exhibitions and collections.

Finally refurbished, the museum shows itself in all its beauty. A rich program of interesting exhibitions accompanied by activities and workshops for all ages. There is also a study area for students. The staff is very kind and the organization is excellent.

Several times I come to this museum, especially to the various inaugurations of exhibitions and performances of contemporary art. It is a place alive and lived, by students, families, children for workshops, adults and anyone interested in experiencing culture and art in an always active and modern place, several major exhibitions follow one another throughout the year, it is there is a Bar inside, a large parking lot is present in the close vicinity not to mention the one used for the market. It is easy to reach, 5 minutes from Gallarate station and easy to reach by car. I am always satisfied with the various events on offer as well as the welcome and kindness of those who work at the Museum and the Bar. Absolutely recommended.

I visited this place at a birthday party. We had to wait half an hour compared to the established time and, moreover, a lady at the reception had to say why some children (specific to avoid misunderstandings: not mine ...) made "noise" (but not so much. ..) and what was wrong, she said, because there were students there to study (the study room was elsewhere and that was the bar, but oh well ...). So: if you organize birthday parties and you are not punctual, maybe you should also expect that some children "cheer" while they wait half an hour ... Moreover: if one wants to study, he studies even if he has the noise of a building site next ... [NB I have nothing against the people who invited us to the party, specific!]
Parking: for those arriving by car, you can use the large parking lot behind the cemetery.
[Edit] Food for the party: glasses and sandwiches only for children (in fact then the glasses are finished ...); among other things, the sandwiches with tomatoes and bread to the seeds have not even been touched by children (perhaps are better off down to the bar ...).
At about 18 we were sent away quite quickly because after half an hour there would be an inauguration of an exhibition ... Anything goes, but maybe informed in advance would be nice ...
At the exit, who it was at the desk - also - children who are looked badly lingered half a minute to catch the candies offered by a sponsor ...
Moral of the story: if the children are annoying, perhaps it is better not to foresee their presence at the museum (doing parties and various workshops ...)

Beautiful museum. There is a lot to see, it is well organized and the staff are really nice. 100% recommended.
