They have good shows and excellent sound, def an intimate venue. I like the layout and bartenders hustle. Outdoor seating with fire is cool. The burger is super solid for the price, only food complaint is fried pickles are lil slices instead of substantial spears. Beer selection is great with a lot of affordable options. Recommend for a good show or just a quick burger and some beers

Such a great little venue. I came here to see the Victor Wooton Trio and the acoustics were so good and it was such a personal little show. The people who were working that night were really nice as well. It was perfect!

Mississippi Studios is a fun, well maintained and comfortable venue. Do yourself a favor and get there a little early to have a drink outside before your show starts. Parking is in the neighborhood, so get there via public transit or carpool if you can. Overall, great venue, nice locale and good staff!

It s ok. I really want to like this place, but every time I come I inevitably get my order taken by a sullen Instagram obsessed lady wearing big earrings and staring me down for having the gall to ask her to do anything. It s cool, I work service too- but letting my food order rot in the window for 15 minutes while you chat up the beer delivery guy is rude. Forcing the overworked kitchen staff to run the food you re too lazy to run is rude too. Staff is overly entitled and lazy. What happened to this place?

Great beer selection, fair prices, and an unrelenting indifference to the length of the bar line.

This particular bartender was so slow that as I become more uneasy about standing in line for along, I started to wonder if something was wrong with me and if I needed to schedule some mental health visits. It was deeply unsettling how much she didn't care that people were in line.

They moved several people to a second bar leaving me in the #3 position. First person got three mixed drinks and it took 7 minutes. Second person got a pint and a Moscow Mule. This took 4 minutes. I'm sure the drinks were amazing.

To be fair, I heard the bartender say it was her birthday, and I guess you can do whatever you want on your birthday. She didn't seem to know either of the two people ahead of me, but I think they're all BFFs now. Talk talk talk talk talk. Not an ideal time when there were, literally, 12 people queued up.

I wanted to say something, but this seems like the place where six people will tell me to check my white male privilege if I dared to say anything.

A lot of great shows here, but I'll probably skip the drinks/meal before the show next time.

Amazing atmosphere, the bartender's were so very patient and wonderful, I asked for a bloody marry, I know an unusual drink but they took the time to make it and that was one of the best I've ever had. The music is incredible there with so many unique artists going through!! A MUST check out when your in Portland!

People love this place - I've personally never had a great time at this venue... both before and since the remodel. I can't tell you why I'm not a fan of this venue - is it the long narrow space with high ceilings? Is it haunted? Or is the feng shui off? Maybe it's all the skinny, hipster, midwestern white people? I want to feel as others feel because I love a small venue. Portland has some of the crappiest (bad layout or vibes or sound) venues of any city I've lived in. This one isn't the worst.

Super fun venue with a well stocked bar and Kitchen. Great prices and they made us out-of-towners feel welcomed. The venue has a unique and awesome set up for watching bands. We saw Shellac, and the audio set up and acoustics were top notch. I'd do the 6 hour drive once a month to see all my favorite bands play here, highly recommended!

This place is a gem. A cool music venue and cool bar are rare things to have in one place. The bar had a cool vibe to it. The staff was nice and professional. Mississippi Studios was a nice venue to enjoy the Blackwater Holylight show. Sold out and still comfortable. Nice beer selection even though they have 4 to 6 IPA on the list. Not hating just saying. I flew in from Minneapolis for the show and definitely will tell my friends to stop by if they ever plan on going to Portland. To the people of Portland appreciate the venue/bar combo you have they are not that many as cool as Mississippi Studios and Bar Bar.

The quality place varies depending on the time of day, as occasionally it can get over-crowded, but it seems to be a pretty safe bet most of the time. There's an outdoor fire pit, and multiple outdoor heaters, which make it nice to hangout outdoors even in Winter months. The bar staff isn't exactly the friendliest, but hey.. this is Portland after all. :)

About Mississippi Studios

Mississippi Studios: A Music Venue in Portland, Oregon

Mississippi Studios is a music venue located in the heart of Portland, Oregon. It is owned and operated by musicians who have a passion for live music and creating an unforgettable experience for their guests. The venue has become a popular destination for both nationally and internationally touring acts as well as local favorites.

The History of Mississippi Studios

Mississippi Studios was founded in 2003 by Jim Brunberg and Kevin Cradock. The two musicians had been playing together since the early 90s and had always dreamed of opening their own music venue. They found the perfect location on North Mississippi Avenue, which at the time was an up-and-coming neighborhood with a vibrant arts scene.

The original space was small but intimate, with room for only about 100 people. However, it quickly became clear that there was a demand for live music in Portland, and Mississippi Studios began to attract larger crowds.

In 2010, Brunberg and Cradock decided to expand the venue by adding Bar Bar next door. This allowed them to offer food and drinks to their guests while still maintaining the focus on live music.

Today, Mississippi Studios has become one of Portland's most beloved venues. It has won numerous awards over the years including "Best Live Music Venue" from Willamette Week's Reader's Poll multiple times.

What Makes Mississippi Studios Unique?

One thing that sets Mississippi Studios apart from other venues is its commitment to showcasing both national acts as well as local talent. While many venues focus solely on bringing in big-name artists from out of town, Mississippi Studios also provides a platform for up-and-coming musicians from around Portland.

Another unique aspect of Mississippi Studios is its dedication to providing an exceptional experience for its guests. From the sound quality to the lighting design to the overall ambiance of the space - every detail has been carefully considered with one goal in mind: creating an unforgettable night out.

Finally, it's worth noting that because this venue is owned by musicians themselves they understand what performers need when they're on stage - good sound quality! So you can expect top-notch acoustics at every show you attend here!

Upcoming Shows at Mississippi Studio

If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend or any other day then check out what shows are coming up at this amazing place! You'll find everything from indie rock bands like Built To Spill or Death Cab For Cutie all way down through jazz ensembles such as Esperanza Spalding or Kamasi Washington!

Conclusion

In conclusion if you're looking for great live music then look no further than Mississipi Studio! With its commitment towards showcasing both national acts alongside local talent plus dedication towards providing exceptional experiences makes it stand out among other venues around town!
