Excellent spot to take a break and have a refreshing cocktail. My only complaint would be seating and prices, but that's what you get on the island.

Rooms are nice. Not extra large but enough space to relax and enjoy. The grounds of the hotel give us a lot to do. Mini golf was great too
I visited the coffee shop, the service was very quick and accommodating for food allergies. The employees working were very friendly and pleasant.
Having our wedding at Mission Point was one of the best decisions we made. The wedding coordinators at Mission Point are second to none. They work tirelessly to ensure that all of your events go off without a hitch. They are very responsive to any request, regardless of how big or small it is, and make the effort to get to know the couple and their wedding vision. The food and beverages were excellently crafted and delicious. Plus the spaces for a ceremony and reception are stunning and well organized. Having our wedding at Mission Point made for a relaxing and stress free experience. And your guests will love Mission Point for so many reasons. There are so many restaurants and shops on the property, as well as a plethora of fun activities and rentals to for them to choose from. Your guests will never be bored or go hungry! The staff is incredibly friendly and willing to go above and beyond to ensure that every one of your guests is happy and cared for. We highly recommend choosing Mission Point as the location to have your wedding.
Love the walk on Mackinac and the delicious food at Mission Point. Staff friendly and always helpful.
Location was beautiful, the landscaping was stunning, staff was courteous, and overall a wonderful place to stay for our first time on the island.
Meat cooked well but added too much stuff to try and make it fancy
Pros: Beautiful garden. Nice lawn to relax on. Decent rooms. Cons: Depending on where you stay on the property the bike parking can be terrible. Both hot tubs look 30 years old, cheap, and did not work at all the 4 days we were here. Pool is small with very uneven tile. AC in room is noisy. The breakfast buffet is poor except for the made to order omelets. The small waffles were very tough.
This was our first stay at Mission Point Resort. Usually, we stay closer to downtown but thought we'd splurge a little on this trip and see what life was like at the far end of Main St. Overall, we didn't find it worth the money. Our room was nothing spectacular, like a basic moderately priced chain hotel room but with less attention to decorating. Climate control was severely lacking as well. There is an air conditioner along the outer wall but there was no airflow toward the entrance or bathroom so those areas were extremely stuffy. It was particularly bad after a shower when all the heat and humidity had nowhere to go. Otherwise, we found the bed and other amenities quite comfortable and well maintained. While there, we also ate at the Round Island Bar and Grill, one of the on site restaurants. Price and quality were in line with what we find elsewhere on the island, though service was slow. I imagine if a person plans to take more advantage of the spa and other resort facilities then the location is worth the cost.
Beautiful location, accommodations, and event hosting
Attentive staff, a variety of tasty food choices, relaxing views and walking distance to town.
The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating; the views beautiful, and those pillows. The comfiest pillows I have ever slept on!
Incredible accommodations, welcoming and helpful staff, delicious dining options! We loved every moment of our stay at Mission Point!
Have stayed at much nicer places. Service in restaurant not good. Grounds were soso.
I didn't stay at the hotel but I have ran through the resort and met many of the staff. Everyone has been pleasant and kind. The grounds and view of the bay are beautiful! It has a close proximity to Arch Rock, just a couple hundred feet away.
Absolutely beautiful grounds and very cozy main lodge.
The room was clean. The bed was clean and comfortable. But, especially for the price, the amenities were few and the willingness to make our stay better (by offering late check-out since we were there for a race) was non-existent. Our coffee pot did not work. When we requested another a Keurig was sent up and it also did not work. The t.v.'s are small and boxy. The internet really did not work. We were offered no recompence not even a apology. Next time we'll choose another venue.
I love this resort. Great views and at the best spot on the island. Away from downtown, right at the start of the bike path around the island, putt putt putt golf, lawn games and bike rental on site. Will go back!
Go watch the free Tuesday night movie of "Somewhere in Time" and sit in Christopher Reeves chair.
Gorgeous hotel with amazingly friendly and helpful staff. It is a pleasure to visit here any time we visit the island.
Service was amazing! Room wasn't as nice as I expected but hottub was wonderful and the views were worth it all. Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful time!
Fun place at the eastern end of the strip! It's nice that there are a few options for lodging and food right there. Super pretty.
A fire alarm also went off our last night there. A dryer had a small electrical fire, but the staff and the island's emergency services were great. They had us back in our room well within an hour.
Even though our room was tiny, we loved staying here! It was very nice! We truly enjoyed the private little areas in the grand lobby where you could sit by the fire, read a book, have a drink. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. They even brought us a mini fridge to store milk in our room for my infant - I didn't even know that was an option! Price was also reasonable for the ammenaties.
Extremely beautiful, great location on the water, historic an amazing place to visit and stay.
We are currently staying at this resort and everything has been fine until we were coming home from dinner. I was told on the resort shuttle , it cost $5.50 per person to take. I thought the driver was joking with me but have since confirmed with the front desk it does cost that much each time you ride it. Of all the cities and countries in the world I ve been to, I ve NEVER heard of this. This resort costs hundreds of dollars per night and they expect people to pay for a shuttle? Why even have it? That s what taxis are for. And WHAT is this money paying for? They re horse and buggies; it s not like they need to fill it up with gas all day long. I am just super confused and a bit irked at the nickel and diming. We opted to walk home in the rain which was super fun.
After coming home from our trip I have downgraded this review because of some weird events that took place. Our first day here someone came into our room while we were napping. The sound of the door opening woke me up and the person immediately apologized and closed the door. I still have no idea who it was. The second day, same thing around the same time. Someone attempted to get in our room in the middle of the day. Mind you, housekeeping had already come. I have no idea why hotel staff enter occupied rooms here. Again, never experienced that before. On our last day, housekeeping knocked on the door at 8:30 in the morning!!! We had JUST woken up. I m sorry, this is a vacation and checkout is at 11. Do not send housekeeping to a couples room at that hour.
The rooms are quaint but dated and a bit cramped. I thought the website said there would be a mini fridge but none was present. The air conditioning on the third floor needs to be run constantly, as there is no central air. The hallways were hot and muggy. Beds were comfortable and the views from the room of the straits were very nice. The outdoor pool was clean and heated. All of the staff was very courteous as expected.
Great place to bring the family. Though slighlty overpriced, the resort is comfortable and accomodating.
Great service and very friendly staff. They were able to accommodate a corporate event with over 30+ people flawlessly.
Loved loved loved the customer service. They ranked a 10 on a scale of 1-5! Laura, Dan and DAndre. Are too notch! So why a 1 Star?! The rooms are horrible. They smell moldy and are stuffy! Our room had absolutely no phone connection or WiFi. Very very inconvenient!
Beautiful location but room we stayed in were small for 4 people, had no refrigeration
Not that great. Water smelled like horse poop. Outdated rooms but staff was always kind and friendly
Great place to stay. The food wasn't great (at least not at the Round Island Bar and Grill)so we usually dined out but everything is pretty close anyway so it wasn't a big deal. Breakfast buffet was good though. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The hotel itself is decently nice, it was by no means a shabby, dirty place. It has the right to call itself a "hotel". My visit was during the summer so there were many international employees, all of which were very kind and helpful. There is a nice buffet-style breakfast bar, and the food they offer was very good. Everything is way overpriced, but I understand, it is Mackinac Island.
So why the two stars? The hotel is nice, just not the people who are staying there. If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay, DO NOT STAY HERE. The walls are paper thin, all I heard was little kids screaming non-stop. Kids screaming down the hall, kids screaming and stomping around in the room above, and kids screaming outside past 11:30pm! I could not get a wink of sleep! I suppose if you have children then this hotel would be great for you, but if you are an adult just wanting to get away and relax, look elsewhere to stay!
Very relaxing oudoor area, a good walk from downtown but also not as much hustle and bustle.
The room we had was private great for a romantic getaway
Amazing historic facility. Pricey for sure! But friendly with 2 million dollar views.
Rooms are pretty nice the staff is awesome. Had a great time here and would do it again.
For some odd reason it took almost an hour to. Check in, but once checked in I really enjoyed my stay at the Mission Point Resort, everyone was very polite and welcoming. The restaurant at the hotel has and amazing view and some amazing dining options. The double bone pork chops are delicious and so is their Salmon. My wife and I definitely recommend the Mission Point Resort if you are looking to stay on the Island.
While we were eating in the restaurant we were quickly waited on by the waitress. Great experience!
Staff shouting back and forth down the halls at 7:30 am, dropping equipment above and across from the room, paper thin walls where you hear the guests as clear as a bell in the next room.
Nice, the service between the resort and the ferry boats was seamless. The room was very comfortable, perfect privacy between our room and the kids room.
Treats employees terrible. Would never recommend this resort
It is placed perfect near the beach with exquisite views. The dining areas are incredible although a bit pricey. The have an arcade, spa, theatre room, fitness center, pool, and kids center. They offer a library and fireplace.
The pool is rather small. You need reservations for dinner at several of the restaurants on site, which they do not tell you at check in, and the bar service and drink quality are not very good. Have not actually slept in a bed yet, but hoping that improve my opinion. We bought a Groupon to get the room, which was an okay deal, and the island and weather are beautiful.
Excellent customer service, hospitality was over and beyond, food was amazing, service was phenomenal.
Only issue wifi spotty. Need better wifi service.
Beautiful views, wonderful service, excellent drinks, what's more to add?
I want to add that all of the staff was very friendly, helpful, and always acknowledged us even if just walking past. Thank you for making the luggage transition easy for your guests!
Everyone is very nice here! It's one of the only places you can stay with your dog and it is great. Doesn't smell like dog or look dirty! The rooms are very clean with plenty of room. It seemed strange at first to have a sink in the bedroom but it made having multiple people staying in the room so much easier. You have access to a sink while someone else can go to the restroom and shower. And there is a huge open area in front of the resort that you can let your dog run! I will definitely be back!
The location was ok. Not too far of a walk and far enough away from downtown. The common area was pretty great, I think I saw 3 fireplaces. A large bookcase and several family's playing games. However, the room was a let down. My fiance and I had a room right next to the ice maker, but the garbage exit next to the ice maker is what killed it. The air conditioner in the room let in all noises possible from the back where the employees took out the garbage. The noise from the hallway was impressive. The noise from the icemaker came mostly through the bathroom, which was a wreck itself. The bathtub was peeling and the showerhead wasn't fully attached to the wall anymore, not that it mattered much because the water pressure was little to none. The carpet looked dated. The room smelled a little off, maybe because of the garbage outside the window. The bed was very uncomfortable. The whole experience was a let down.
Great place to stay friendly staff and fun environment
Michigan all the way. This is an excellent place to stay at on Mackinac Island.
I love this resort! It's the perfect way to experience the island! Family and pet friendly.
Enjoyed our stay at mission point for a family member wedding. We had a small issue with the first room we had but they were quick to offer new one. Quite bummed that our junior suite didn't have a fridge but regular rooms did. Also, walls are very thin and they are pet friendly so we did hear neighbors dog for a while during the afternoon but we had payback at night ; ) Overall we enjoyed our stay but it was pricey like im sure the rest of the island
The property is beautiful and the staff is great. However, our junior suite in the Straits Lodge hasn't seen a real update since the 1990s. There's a small window AC in the bedroom, but the living room gets pretty warm.
Beautiful venue for a wedding. In a relatively calm area just outside of the main town. Beautiful views of the water, mainland, and bridge available.
Rooms were clean. Staffs were attentitive. If you want good view from your room, make sure you ask for it. One of our rooms had view of two huge transformers on a electrical pole. Hotel is about 17 minutes walking distance away from dock. You can rent bikes from hotel and I highly recommend it to travel around island.
Staff was awesome from Adrian the baggage handler to will and Kelvin the bartenders and Basil the waiter as well as a very helpfu front desk staff. Also the shuttle driver all of these staff members made our stay a truly memorable experience
I love Mission point!!! The lobby looks like a place Ernest Hemingway would write a novel. Anything you could want on the island Mission point can provide- bike rentals, wonderful restaurants, clean and comfortable rooms with air-conditioning (something many hotels can t provide). I actually like the Lodge better than the straits. Simply said with mission point you get what you pay for:)
This nice, amazing, and historic hotel on Mackinac Island will leave you satisfied. This is such an nice title and the location is great. This is the most recommend hotel/resort on the island for me.
Overall, Mission Point is ok. I don't believe it was worth the money. I have stayed at other B&Bs and hotels on the island and they were definitely better. Mission Point didn't allow early check in; however other places I have stayed were much more accommodating. The rooms are fine, nothing exciting though. The sink didn't drain, the bathroom was small. We were provided with false information about the hot tub and pool that they were open 24/7. We made arrangements with our friends, but when we showed up at 10pm we were turned away and told that they area was closed and the hot tub was drained for the night. Kind of an inconvenience, not necessarily a problem with the hotel, but there should be better informed staff. The grounds are very nice though.
SO Beautiful! Went fora friends wedding and had a wonderful time. The staff was great, food was great, and the Island was So much fun. My son loved the horse rides and all the cool history there is to see and learn! Great vacation spot.
Awesome outdoor restraunt. Great food beautiful view, great service.
Beautiful resort, clean rooms and very helpful and caring staff.
Mission Point Resort is an incredible place. The hospitality of every person I've interacted with is fantastic!
Aside from the fact my daughter Stephanie is doing the PR work there this year, it's a beautiful place to visit on a historic island
Excellent rooms, excellent staff, excellent guests. Would return
Nice quiet resort. Has a great view of the Sunrise and quite a few dining options.
Awesome place! Very well maintained. Clean rooms, nice staff.
Bad staff service and the wifi was down during my stay for an extended period of time.
The staff at Mission Point made the celebration for my husband s 50th birthday AMAZING, FUN, and MEMORABLE!! Mission Point had Happy Birthday, Shawn! on their lobby TVs, at the Chianti s birthday dinner for Shawn, they made a special birthday cake and sang for him !!!
Their staff was always so helpful, friendly, kind with exceptional service and follow-through!! And a BIG THANK YOU to Pat in concierge who pulled together so many special birthday touches for us!!! Mission Point is impressive in every way!!
A great stay, rooms had lovely views and it was very clean. Be careful when picking a suite though, its not very clear but you can end up in out buildings that arent attached to the main lobby, they are still lovely, but we wish we had known.
