Sells 17 year old kids dreams and unicorns at the expense of tax payers. You d generate a higher income and more career stability as a welder than most of the degree paths at this university without 6 figures worth of student loans.

Some of the best years of my life here. Met so many new people, campus is beautiful and only getting better. Wish the school teams were a bit better so there would have been more school pride and better rivalries. But overall awesome experience going to school here.

Met a few cool professors, but everything else is pretty terrible. Impenetrable groups of friends, NEED a car, cheating students (even at graduate level), bad books and lousy TA's, need to know people to get into extra programs. Transferred from a much better CC, was very disappointed.

There are tons of opportunities in this large University, both academic and social included. For example, the Student Association which is run wholly by students organizes events and funds the hundreds of clubs which are also run by students. The Academics is suitable for a large campus where professors often are teaching hundreds of other students, which is to be expected, since this is a public University. Everything that you do whether academically or socially is all on you. But I can honestly say that this university has something in store for every single student that enrolls here. Despite the very cold weather, the large campus is heated and cozy enough for you to not complain. Overall it's a great school with an outstanding international ranking, so you'll see many international students around, making the campus one of the most diverse ever!

This place is like a palace. Massive, I visit it there on a trip. It took me about 3 hours just to walk around the whole school. Also visit the inside as a visitor. Its a amazing university that offers many course. Lot of friendly people. Adviser will always help student even though their is a lot of student. Amazing Lab as well. Definitely a great place to go for a bright career.

Great school in almost all aspect but weather may be troublesome for those who hate long winters like me and having a car around would be a boost to living here due to the long winters and huge campus.

Nice campus and student housing. Seems to be constantly something going on regardless of the day/time which is nice. Classes are pretty big for the most part so you won't get much specialized attention, but it's a nice school.

Intelligent, conscientious, and focused students. There are so many intelligent people here I at first I felt like I wouldn't fit in because everyone is so smart! I think what I like best about UB is if you're a shy or a geek, you'll fit in right away and no one judges each other here since everyone is so worried about getting good grades. If you want to study at UB you have to make a serious conscious commitment to research and learning. Students are polite and mindful that their studies come first. Diversity and culture is huge here, and a wide variety of food so you will never get bored. There is also a bank, CVS, and a variety of shops on campus and an internal bus system and tunnels in the North Campus. It is truly a secret gem of an institution hidden away to focus on research.

Understand what you are getting when you go here. You will be a number to most of the faculty. However, you will have far more class choices and facilities compared to other colleges and universities. Take the time to learn about the teachers, for they matter more than anything else. You get back only what you put into your education. The degree is respected after graduation. - Engineering, class of '92.

UB is a big, diverse school- which is great for students who might end up changing their major or just want to branch out at school. It has a second campus 20 minutes away south of the main one (south campus) where some health sciences and architecture courses take place. Plenty of great people here.

Loved my college experience at UB. Quality academics, quality student life. There is great diversity which will help you with life after college. Food is good, not great, but what do you expect when you are cooking for the masses. Wish people cared more about the athletics. They have made north campus and the apartments surrounding it nice. The alumni base from what I can tell is Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, NYC, Chicago and DC. I also love the city of Buffalo. Downtown offers a lot to do for a mid size city.

Everything about UB has always made me feel how fortunate I'm to be part of an intellectually diverse and vibrant temple of learning. Living and loving every moment of it, because "Here is How" we change the world.

I attended the art department at UB and had an overall good experience there. There are some classes and instructors that are better than others. The facility is very sufficient. I especially liked the print-making dept and worked with some great grad students who were teaching there.

Our experience could not have been worse with Admissions. My son applied 'early action'. There was a request for information which was received February 14 and he was still not notified until April 27 about the status of his application. This ridiculous date allowed him one business day before the May 1 deadline to commit. We understand Admissions has to process many thousand applications but the process was utterly embarrassing for a University with the credentials they advertise. Students beware.

Campus is big and somewhat beautiful. Students are generally in low quality with low IQ. Researches are conservative and traditional. If you pursue academic quality, this place is not suitable for you. If you just want to have a diploma, you can come. By the way, facility problems occur frequently. The facility manager seems not responsible.

It s really true, the University at Buffalo is a public research university with campuses in Buffalo (south campus) and Amherst (north campus). They provide the best college level education in Western New York.

Took one evening course at UB 2 years ago. Have been receiving 1 - 3 e-mails per day since...have requested to stop, sent e-mails to UB to stop...they never stop. For an institution if higher learning this is unacceptable.
