I had the opportunity of coordinating a client's wedding at the Nicollet Island Pavillion and I must confess that I worked with the best site coordinator. GABRIELLA PANEBIANCO was amazing to work with. She went over and beyond to make the event a success. The food was delicious and the ambience was great. I would definitely recommend Mintahoe to my clients especially NIP and Gabriella. Thanks for an awesome time.

Only Option: We had to use Mintahoe because they are the exclusive food vendor for Leopold's Mississippi Gardens. Otherwise we would have to do a buy out and pay for additional fees. This is common for weddings, but I would prefer at these 2 options.
I was in a panic when the caterer that my mother-in-law-to-be hired, then bailed on us and took our money for our wedding. I didn't know what I was going to do! We had 200 guests coming. I called Mintahoe Catering and Events and spoke with Julie Teran, and she completely calmed me down, was available for our date, gave me great choices for food and liquor. I am SO grateful for her and her team of professionals! On the day of my wedding, everything was set up, it tasted fantastic, I got many many compliments on the food! It went off without a hitch and I just so grateful to her and Mintahoe for making my day a dreamm day for me, my husband and my guests. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My husband and I had an amazing experience with Mintahoe for our December wedding. From start to finish, Mary Jo and the whole team catered (pun unintended) to us. We wanted certain things done a little different than the "standard" and it was never an issue.
They were so organized day-of that I never even noticed the scene changes. The plated service was amazing, cake was delicious, service was incredible - Honestly everything was perfect.

I recently planned a company picnic using Mintahoe as our caterer. They were fabulous! From day one, Julie was super helpful and responsive. She brought out samples of the food to our business so everyone helping to plan this event could taste the food. Once we booked them, she clearly communicated deadlines for headcount, payment, other outside vendor info, etc. The day of the event she showed up on site to make sure things were ready to go with her staff, as well as answer any questions. The food was great, and competitively priced. The staff was amazingly helpful, professional and friendly and went above and beyond to make our picnic a success. I would definitely recommend and use Minhatoe again!

Mintahoe/Picnic's Plus have been catering our Company picnics for 12 years. We appreciate the professional job that they do. Hats off to Steve Palmer and his team. The barbecue was delicious and the food was hot and the presentation was perfect. They handled all the details including USA Inflatables, staffing, face painters etc. I highly recommend them if you are planning a large company picnic. We had 700 people and they did an incredible job.

Our venue required the use of the company for catering. The staff was exceptional and very professional. The event captain really takes care of everything you need without stressing you out! The food at the tasting event was not very good, but do not be discouraged by that because the food at our private event of nearly 150 people turned out great! We did a plated meal and had no issues with service or taste. Great company to work with and they make planning very easy!

We used Mintahoe at the Van Duesen Mansion for our event. Our budget was not as big as one would be for a wedding and Mintahoe worked closely with us to take out unnecessary costs so we could fit it into our budget. Since I am part of a student group they were very flexible with the uniqueness of our event. All communication was extremely clear and always in a timely manner. Highly recommend them! Not to mention the food is absolutely delicious and all guests of our event were blown away.
Mintahoe Catering & Events offers great food and service! They've put together a fun and festive menu for our annual Oktoberfest celebration the last few years and everyone always rants and raves about the food! As an organizer of the event, I've appreciated their self-sufficiency and expertise as it makes for a very pleasant and stress-free experience.
We had our wedding at A'bulae a few weeks ago and received so many compliments on the food and service. I had read some reviews complaining on the price, but you get what you pay for. Appetizers were great, and the staff even put some at the head table since we didn't get the chance to have any during social hour. Extremely impressed with how fast the food comes out for all, and that people aren't sitting without food while others are done. Very professional and friendly staff. Denise was quick to respond to all emails and happy to help whenever needed. Highly recommend using this company for any catering needs!

Julie at Mintahoe was so great to work with all through the process. We had a
"Tastes of New York" graduation party and Julie came up with delicious and unique food options that were within my budget. Then, on the day of the event, she came to help Patrick set up and was so enthusiastic and creative in how they presented the food stations. Patrick stayed throughout the event and quietly kept food trays full and completely cleaned up! When the guests were gone, I just put my feet up! We have used Mintahoe for other work related events and the consistency of their service and quality of food is what keeps us going back.
Mintahoe was incredibly professional from start to finish. Delivery was on time and the Driver set everything up and went above and beyond with assisting us on the day of our event. The online payment system made billing incredibly simple. I greatly appreciate the service Mintahoe provides and will most certainly be using them again.
Our business uses Mintahoe on a fairly frequent basis. This past week we had 16 different orders that included breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Every one came off without a hitch. Not only was the food fresh and delicious but Julie was great to work with. She went over and above with regard to our questions and changes and that took a lot of the stress out of event planning for me! Not enough words to describe how amazing Erin (Leopold's Mississippi Garden's) was to us! The food was spectacular, the manager in charge our the catering event (I forgot his name) was so helpful and sweet. We are so thrilled to have experienced Mintahoe's first class service and look forward to working with them again in the near future.
Everything about Mintahoe was amazing. Krista, our Sales Consultant, acted so much more like a wedding planner than our caterer. She was unbelievably responsive, helpful, and accommodating. The food was so incredibly good (still getting compliments weeks later from our guests) and although feeding hundreds of people can be expensive, Krista was so great at helping us be smart with our budget instead of trying to nickle and dime each request. We went with buffet style hors d'oeuvres, family style meal, a small 6" bride groom cake for us, cheesecake desserts for the guests, a champagne pour for toasts, and pre-paid some adult beverages. Not only did Krista work with all our vendors (DJ, Photo Station, Venue, etc.) to ensure everyone was tracking the same flow of events, she worked and reworked our floor plan and accommodated high chairs for the kiddos. Our wedding was such a fairy-tale because of her attention to detail and her diligence. Thank you Krista! I would highly recommend Mintahoe to anyone who gets to work with her :)
TERRIBLE COMPANY - Checkout the YELP reviews as many of the reviews here are paid for and solicited. After leaving an initial bad review the company continues to slander the guest (certainly the definition of a professional company that you would want to hire for your wedding day). The server fabricated a story about an incident that upset the brides family and caused many people to leave the wedding. The server walked into and bumped me in the hallway then fabricated a story that I had "elbowed" him to try and have me removed from the wedding. The idea that a 120 lb, 5 -5 female chemo patient could "elbow" the 6 -2 +/- male server whom nearly took me to the floor is not only insane but repulsive. He was hostile and inappropriate on so many levels and the company supporting this behavior is abhorrent. To further slander me and call me "Drunk and belligerent" doesn t make sense since the entire issue was that you would not serve me alcohol, so how does one become drunk and belligerent if they do not drink alcohol? The food and service was terrible and the lasting memory Mintahoe provided our family was one of utter shock and disgust.
Nicollet Island Pavilion (Tracy and Kailey) / Wedding / April 27, 2018: Amazing food, amazing venue, kind and organized planning staff. Five stars all around. Everyone we know that has been married had at least one complaint about the venue, food, etc. We did not have any and in fact, our guests raved about the food and the venue and all the awesome details thanks to Tracy, Kailey and her team at Nicollet Island Inn, as well as the catering staff at Mintahoe! We had our wedding at the Van Dusen Mansion in April and Mintahoe did all the catering. There were extremely organized during the whole process and were very prompt when responding to emails or questions. They helped me with multiple changes that were made throughout the process and really helped to make our wedding and food unique to us.
They did a great job with all the food and beverage during the wedding and were really accommodating and open to different ideas that we had. If I was to do it al over again, I would definitely choose them again.
Professional staff, great food. If you want 1 less thing to worry about planning your party or wedding ect... look no further. Cant say enough nice things about them.
I am so thrilled at the fantastic wedding we had in August 2017 at the Nicollet Island Pavilion, catered by Mintahoe. The staff we worked with (Tracy & Kailey) are incredibly responsive, and very willing to be flexible with the whims of a bride :) The Pavilion space is unbelievably beautiful, and though expensive, you could not imagine a better space for a wedding.
Mintahoe worked with us to create a delicious family-style menu for our wedding, which ended up being very fun to watch our tables interact, and gave a great value of food for the cost. Everyone was full! I would highly recommend the Chicken Piccata & Beef Spare Ribs as entrees, which people were raving about all night.
We planned a celebration of life at the Inwood Oaks location - we did it on short notice and with a tight budget and it couldn't have turned out more meaningful. The staff was amazing, the food was delicious, and they were very accommodating to all of our needs. They understood that due to our circumstances we didn't have a lot of time and needed answers quickly and not everything would be planned out perfectly and we would need to finalize some things on the fly. The entire family is very grateful for their support and ensuring the celebration of life turned out beautiful and a meaningful time for all.
Such a lovely event! I was able to customize my evening brunch buffet, food was awesome, staff was perfect, Sheila the bartender was the absolute best. Thank you to Courtney for helping plan every detail, especially when I didn't know what I was doing.
Rating is more like a 2.5 star. Had an ok experience with this caterer. My wedding was at A'Bulae, lovely venue but this was the only catering service provided. Food was expensive for 'just ok' food. Because it was a very busy night as well, I did not get the chance to eat nor enjoy my dinner properly. The waiters were taking food off the tables way too soon. We bought food for 200 people and the food that was brought out did not even come close to 200 servings. If I could do it differently, I would have gone with buffet style--that way I know that I paid for the full 200 servings. The main gal we worked with was very slow at getting back to us with numbers as well. Initially, we wanted Thai food, but seeing that it was going to be a bit of a challenge for them, we skipped the idea completely and had what was on their menu. The dessert bar and midnight pizzas were great, probably because it was the only thing I can remember eating. I also had my wedding cake done through them. During the tasting, the cake was great. On the night of the wedding, it was way too dry as if they've made the cake several days ahead. Overall, was not impressed for the very expensive $$ service we paid for :/

She was always professional, helpful with advice on what to order, and patient with our tight timeline. We had a lot of last minute changes and she took it all in stride. The delivery was right on time and the food quality was great. Our bartender, Johnnie, did a great job. He helped us with so much more than just bar tending. Great effort shown by the whole team and helped with the success of our event!
Had a wonderful wedding at the Pavilion in July! The location and venue are truly beautiful! We were able to have the wedding exactly how we liked! I would say the only downside is having to cater through them (just food, you can cater your own desserts). I also planned my wedding long-distance, which this venue did not accommodate in the best way. I work 8-5 everyday and it was difficult to find someone who could set aside time in the evening or weekends to have a phone meeting, which was postponed so long that we didn't have our initial meeting until about a month and a half before the wedding. I would recommend using the Pavilion if you are live in the Minneapolis area and have time for in-person meetings and also if you're okay with catering their food and having to go along with some very specific rules and fees - understandable, since they do so many events, but it was frustrating that we couldn't have sparklers or throw rice for the send-of. Overall, there was just not a great amount of flexibility or really clear communication (especially since we have to talk a lot through email). But if you are looking for a professional, local venue that knows what they're doing, this is the place for you! Honestly the photos will be phenomenal and everyone was very nice the day-of. Couldn't have asked for a better wedding! :)
Our consultant seemed pre-occupied. Maybe she needs another person to help handle menu customization and requests. She would answer questions in a timely manner but did not provide updated menus and proposals in a timely manner. She would often forget to include items I mentioned. Very frustrating especially when we got down to the wire (2 weeks out).
The tasting was a let down. We were only able to try items already pre-selected for us. We didn't have any choice in the items we tasted. Therefore we felt we had to pick those food items because we hadn't tried anything else and didn't want to risk it for our guests.
The day of the staff was frankly wonderful and did a great job. The food succeeded our expectations but only because we had very low expectations based on attending a wedding at Nicollet Island Pavillion where the food was literally cold. Also they did not provide glassware through dinner which was agreed upon in our proposal.
All in all I'm glad that for our wedding the food was actually pretty good, warm, and our guests liked it! Also I appreciated how the staff was friendly, attentive, and the event went smoothly.
Our organization has been using this venue annually for the past 5 years!!!! That is a testimony to the venue, the chef, the Rockstar event coordinator Courtney, the wait staff, the AV people they bring in, and anyone else I might be forgetting. Everyone truly wants to make it the best experience for everyone, and they always shine! Thank you so much.
8.8.16 Update: Mintahoe catered our company picnic again last weekend and everything was a success. From the food to entertainment there was nothing but positive feedback. We had a new rep and Steve was a pleasure to work with.
We recently used Mintahoe for our company annual picnic. Julie was great to work with on all of the upfront details. She was very quick to respond to any questions that we had. The day of the event they hit a home run. They grilled the food onsite and it was delicious. They also took care of the entertainment, we had a face painter, magician and a bounce house. It was nice being able to enjoy the picnic instead of organizing and running the entertainment. The magician and face painter were very professional and well-liked by everyone. We would highly recommend Mintahoe and look forward to working with them again.
We used this caterer for our wedding on December 21st. The food was amazing. Our guests still have not stopped talking about how good the food was. The cake was also so amazing. The best man had 4 pieces! Raul is one of the servers who really stood out to us. He is so friendly and funny. He took time to talk with us and even took our cake to our car so that we wouldn't forget it. All of the staff did an amazing job making and serving the food. I couldn't have been more pleased.

We went through Mintahoe Catering for our wedding and couldn't be more pleased. The food and beverage selections are wide, unique and cater to all tastes. We selected a family style serve with the chicken and roast beef - our guests were raving about it!! We also chose the candied bacon donuts... WOW! The overall experience was a 10/10 - from first introductions to coordinators and staff, tastings and day of event execution - everything was perfect. The staff is friendly and efficient. Our Coordinator Mary Jo was knowledgable and experienced. It was a stress free experience
Mintahoe/Picnics Plus did a fantastic job providing food and service for our company picnic. The buffet table looked perfect with red and white checkered cloth table clothes. The food was hot and delicious and the service (Dan) was more than I could've expected. I've had other caterers in the past years and the food has been good but service was severely lacking. As the event planner for my company having Mintahoe cater our event took enormous amount of work off my plate. I knew I could be completely hands off on anything to do with set up, serving and taking down the buffet. Dan even came around cleaning up tables and taking peoples plates towards the end of the meal. Great job and will use them again!
