Minerals Resort & Spa Review

We had been wanting to go to Minerals for years and finally had the opportunity this past week (spring break for the kids). The place is overall very nice and the service you get is excellent. The room was nice and the pools and outdoor hot tub are a blast. I can recommend it if you're an active family, though I'll note a few cons:

1. the hotel does feel a little "worn" and dated in some places. The restaurant, some rugs, and some items in the room like the sliding glass door were all showing their age a little. And our room safe didn't work. 2. The restaurant was good for dinner but breakfast was expensive for what you get. They had a breakfast menu but after we sat down our waitress said it was buffet only, and that was too pricey at $19pp. 3. Unless you're skiing or biking, the pool is the main attraction, and it's great but it does get crowded and they allow babies with diapers in the outdoor hot tub which is gross. The outdoor bar wasn't open for the season yet so if you wanted a drink you had to go up 2 flights to the restaurant and back.

Overall a nice and fun place, but with rates starting at $260 a night (not including the $60 resort fees) and much higher on the weekend, they could use some updating to justify those prices. Recommended.

Beds are hard as a rock and rooms are priced way to high for the provided amenities.

Outstanding food service and drinks! The wedding was a magical event!

My family and I have been members here for over a decade. Years ago this place treated people with respect and dignity. Within the last few years service has declined. Especially with the way the bartenders and wait staff treat their customers at Kites. The bar tenders are so disrespectful and rude. I have seen on numerous occasions certain bartenders yell and actually curse at thier customers. This wasn't just one time either. Like I said I have been a member for a very long time and seen this many different times. If you are not friends with the bartenders, or "tip well" which I do, then they ignore you and purposely make you wait. The bartenders need to be terminated and Kites should hire professional and ethical people.

I booked a couples package, with spa and hotel. The spa treatment was nice. Did a couples massage and my fiance enjoyed his first experience.. I was shocked to see an additional $200 charge on my card. I was told it was a charge to make sure I had enough in my bank account? I dont understand how thats justified.. the charges on my card did not match the charges on the receipt.. as for the extra $200 I have to wait 7-10 days for it to be posted back to my account.. I was also surprised to find out that they dont give free guest passes anymore with hotel stay.. it's a nice place if you have kids but if your trying for a romantic weekend. Maybe try the week day..

They charge my credit card for spa services I don't have. When I checked out in the morning, they said there were no extra charges but when I looked my my credit card charges on line, two line items were charged and trying to get a hold of the reception desk is impossible.

Stayed here for a wedding. Was hard to get a room despite having a room block and on the day of check in, getting our room before 4 was a bit of a worry as we had to be dressed and on a shuttle out by 3. Despite this, the staff was super friendly and the rooms were clean/well kept. (Even had a balcony and fireplace!) Pool opened nice and early in the morning, awesome little cliff dive too! Wife enjoyed the spa as well.

Staying here the first night! It's horrible. People r screaming We can't sleep , came to relax from NYC noise but no way. Won't recommend this place if u want to relax. Very bad!

Was here for training for work. It was a great place with a very friendly staff

If you are active, local, and looking for a good gym this is a great place i rarely have to wait for a machine and i really enjoy to pool area. My only complaint is the locker rooms could be a bit cleaner. They should have a separate locker room for the members.

It used to be a nice place it still is, but my friend keeps on getting sick when she goes there, a lot of it has been closed down for a long time.

Never been here but hear the liquid diarrhea flows for those that can pay #liquiddiarrhea. Hope this helps.

The outdoor pool was steaming. Went swimming in 20 degree weather and enjoyed it very much. Family friendly. The staff are nice and service is good.

Being a member of Minerals I give it a very favorable rating. Great Spa, Gym,pool,Restaurants, Outdoor Bar a totally cool social experience and just as good for a family setting. Check it out for a weekend getaway. You will not be disappointed.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The pools are awesome! The free fitness classes are a plus. My friends were able to try aerial yoga. There are a lot of activities going on as well and if you have the money to spare, I'm sure it would be worth it. I do recommend bringing your own sports equipment if you plan on using the sports facilities, only to save money on rental fees. The food is pricey and really not all that, but it didn't break the experience. I would go back here. Definitely check out their packages online!

It was not good. The room above us was partying all night and the front desk manager didn't seem to care when i called him. Finally had to walk down around 1 am to complain and he hesitantly sent security to the room above us, We also were not able to get to the wine tasting because the vans were being used for a wedding. This venue was so pre occupied with the big events, they forgot about those just coming for a weekend getaway. There was also vomit in the hallway.

We love the amenities of Minerals Resort but we keep coming back every year because the staff is so accommodating and our students love it here.

Bartender Jesse at Kites was All World! Incredibly helpful. She deserves a raise. Resort is very nice. Facilities were terrific. Good was OK, atmosphere more than made up for it. Terrific wedding venue, very nice 9 hole golf course attached.

The place was really nice but the beds was so hard and the WiFi was not good

Not one to usually give bad reviews but Minerals has gone down hill. Have stayed here a number of times over he past years. I was so disappointed this time. Mainly with the Kites restaurant. Had two meals and I didn't finish either. I also sent the food back 2x which I don't do. Finally didn't eat it and complained which I also usually don't do and nothing was done about it. Not even a manager visit or removed from the bill. On top the drinks running up and down the halls all night further irritated my already annoyed self.

Spa was beautiful service was excellent. Body treatment was amazing.

Didn't like that if felt very crowded. In turn, didn't create a wonderful experience in between treatments.

THE ROOMS LOOK OLD. THEY NEED A MAKEOVER ASAP! LAST VISIT, WE HAD "BED BUGS" IN THE ROOM. THIS TIME THE DOWNSTAIRS WAS MISSING THE "TV" WHICH THEY SEEMED OBLIVIOUS ABOUT?!? OBVIOUSLY THEY DONOT INSPECT. THE AIR VENTS NOT CLEANED, SOME ROOMS HAD HEAT OTHER ROOMS DID NOT! I WOULD NEVER EVER THINK ABOUT GETTING INTO A RENTAL OR BUYING, NOR TIME SHARE WITH THIS OUTDATED CAN DO WITHOUT DESTINATION. THIS PLACE IS AN EPIC FAIL!!!!

I loved it I went for the first time and I love I want to go back again, the only problem is that the pool and jacuzzi inside were a little cold, it was perfect if the water was warmer. But I love I would like to go back again. But please put the indoor pool and the hottest hot tubs because the water was a little cold.

It was awesome. Especially helpful was Tracy at the front desk.

I go with people who have been regulars for over 20yrs, i have been going for about 6 with them, so certainly says a lot for our loyalty & experiences. We have seen things go downhill a bit over the years, but just brought it down from 5 to 4 star in my mind. Great facilities & staff, wonderful pools & restaurants. Honestly cant wait to go again!!

Quick much needed getaway. Arrived exhausted, left feeling at peace. I don't know if this is a slow time of the year, but it was quiet. not complaining, I prefer less people. I was apprehensive, but I'm happy we went and we will be back. Thank you Minerals!

Do not stay here! Stay at their nicer hotel, Grand Cascades Lodge. Minerals is very dirty. Garbage floating in the cave area of pool, garbage on ground near hot tub, lounge chairs looked old and dirty. The lifeguard was not paying attention at all, she just socialized the whole time. I felt so skeeved out that we left and went back to the pool at Grand Cascades. Its definitely worth the extra money to stay at Grand Cascades!

Lots of complimentary things to do if you bring family and friends. The pool is amazing also!!!

Lots of opportunities for different types of sports ranging from skiing to indoor basketball and tennis courts and a heated pool. Not the modern accomodations but you wouldn't stay here for that anyway.

Pools and gym are to die for. There is a special care with the water of the pools.

Staff was lovely but the food was not. Decor and furniture looked like it was probably top notch in the late 80s or early 90s. Needs to refresh.

awful service. was here for a wedding and didn t have any rooms available, had everyone in the lobby waiting for hours. didn t get our room till after 10pm while the wedding reception was going on. wouldn t recommend this place to anyone

Wifi doesn't work 3/4 times, tv channels freeze or don't work. Took something like 2 years to fix other things. Staying at holiday inn next time

We came for the Thanksgiving buffet. It was not great, food was nothing special, and a lot of rolls/bread were stale. Service was incredibly slow. The plates piles up and no one came around to clear anything. We had to grab a pitcher of water ourselves from the serving area because in 45 minutes, no one came by for refills. We won't be back.

Edit: When we received the bill, there was an automatic gratuity of 23% included. We thought this was very high, especially considering the issues with the service. We spoke with the dining manager, and received a 25% discount on the bill so I am adding one star.

Nice atmosphere. A little dated and staff a little cold but other than that... It's what it suppose to be nice, clean, and functional.

Very old indoor pool (its not a waterpark), but I liked the outdoor hot tub. Rooms are dated. They need renovation, but the overall experience was not bad.

A great place to relax!! Amazing fitness center and pool! Food is just ok, and overly priced!! They have spa, yoga, and tennis courts that are clay.

Out of this world experience.... I'm having the best time of my life here with my wife. I had the veggie lasagna and it was delicious. We had the spa treatment and it was magic. Everything is beautiful here... The pool; both, hot and Cold. All wonderful.

I had It with this place. Dingy towels and hard bed with horrible cable! Me and my finance stayed there last weds to Thursday and the rooms were horrible. We had to wait 5 min b4 the hot water turned on and the kites restaurant there food was not good and over priced. We are over this place won't stay there again.

Loved our room & the spa. Wish we had planned a longer stay so we could have enjoyed more of the resort.

Grounds were nice. Food was just ok, not worth the price. Was there for a wedding, spent zero time at any of the pools or spa and still had to pay the premium rate. Wish they had a discounted rate for wedding parties.

4 stars because all of the 6 lifeguards I've seen today are gorgeous. that's all.

but on a serious note there are plenty of ups and downs mostly ups it's beautiful here but the game room is terrible, eats your money go to an arcade somewhere else. they have a daycare which is super accommodating and the pools are gorgeous w plenty of heat and waterfalls. the staff is super nice and unlike others there is hot water in my room but there were a bunch of crickets that snuck in through the sliding door.. in all, it wasn't as bad as the others are reporting but their experiences must have been different. pretty nice place.

Large property, decent quality sport courts and pools (though the tennis court surface is a very strange carpeted with a smattering of fake clay situation), relaxing environment. Building layout and navigation is very confusing, pools and checkin/checkout lines can get very crowded. Facilities / amenities are decent for the price point.

If anyone needs birthday party ideas....I found your solution. Minerals Resort and spa is where its at. Rooms are very nicely updated, very clean and the pools and basketball court is the best way to get the kids energy out. My daughter and her friends had so much fun. It was a great slumber party in our connecting rooms on the 3rd floor, facing the open field. If it was nicer out they would have been able to throw a ball around or have relay races since we had a sliding glass door leading right out there. Book your stay now!!

It was ok. But I like profiles better. You get a longer foot massage and can pay for extra. Plus here I was holding up my legs at certain times. Profiles has leg rests that hold up your legs. If I'm going to pay that much money. I would rather get a great job done. Not in the middle. But the people were very nice.

Closer to 3.5. I had a blast here, so much to do and had unique things you don't find anywhere else. However there were a few negatives. The breakfast took forever, there was barely any hot water in our room, no wifi, no cell service, balcony's were out of bounds due to maintenance, game room machines kept getting jammed, elevators were falling apart etc. Service was very accommodating and amenities were way above par. Great for a night or two getaway. Lots of ups and downs, pos and cons. But overall it was a great stay I would go again if I could.

Love the heated pool outside..you enter from inside and go through a soft plastic curtain to the outside and loll around in the warm pool with snow all around you.

Its lovely. Was definitely pleasantly surprised this place exists in NJ. A few things were not that great. Stayed for 3 nights and never once got my room cleaned even tho we put the please clean room card on door. Wifi didnt work for one ofbthe nights... outside of these two issues tho, staff was super friendly, plenty of activities for kids and gorgeous grounds.

I am from Long Island Ny where customer service and delivery are truly priority when it comes to the client. I have been to hotels around the country (for work), in Europe, in NY and around the Poconos area to visit Camelback and Kalahari. But this is by far the most overrated and disgusting (in every sense of the word) that I have been to! Our problems started from the moment we arrived by first getting the wrong room and of course, were overbooked to place us in another room, no refrigerator ($50 extra if you want one), broken closet door, no drawers to put your clothes away, broken stopper in bathtub (very disappointing for my children), tried calling beforehand to reserve dinner (never called me back and then told me there was no availability when we arrived), broken refrigerator (made me wait two hours for another one while my drinks and cold cuts were we re getting even warmer...yummy) and all this for a whopping $500 a night! Not all activities are included...shocker. I get it, things happen, but the right thing to do would be to comp me, throw me a free activity or dinner or return some money-never a thought in their mind. This is my first review but I will make sure to blast this all over social media to make sure this poor excuse for a company suffers for showing my family a horrible time. When their own employees tell me they are horrible and people leave before their stay is up says it all. Good riddance!

I can t write a new review so I will amend all my new comments to this original one. For all you people giving this dump 4, 5 or even 3 stars you all need to get out more. Kalahari and Camelback are soooo much better for the same price. A lot more to do, even for the adults.

One of my favorite resorts in new jersey. Crystal springs is awesome. Many many cool things to do in one place.

The food was cold and expensive. The front desk seems to be unorganized at check in time. Slow moving. The gym is smelly and the pools dirty. I would not recommend.
