I was recently in the ER and my experience was a terrible one. I had to go to this hospital because my Dr did not go to any other hospital in the area. I went to the ER in horrific pain by ambulance. When I got there the hallways were full of people waiting to be seen in the ER. I was put in line on a gurney in one of those hallways. I was number 4. I was crying and hurting a lot well it seemed they had a busy night wait times were 7 hours then 3 hours. I was left in that hallway screaming in pain. Never looked at to see if my pain was critical or not. Never seen by anyone. I was upset and in pain yelling for help. I watched people get rooms in the ER that were sleeping and woke them up to take them to a room. It seems ones screaming pain should go in before a sleeping person.I got on that bad list they have. I was the very last one in all the hallways to get a room in the ER and another 2 hrs to be seen by a Dr. Was in the ER from 2 am Wednesday till Thursday late morning. When I asked the ambulance crew what are the wait times at Sisters' would be they said 2 1/2 hrs and how lucky I was to be going to Suburban. Yes real lucky. I know the ER has a lot to deal with and I have been in many ERs but this one was awful and if you can go to another ER I would go...I would run to another ER than this one. RNs have an attitude. Maybe if you are at the brick of death you will be seen first. As for me I survived this ordeal. A Shout out to the Second floor where room 280 is Thank you so much for your great care and kindness.

The staff was very kind and caring but there are some serious issues with infrastructure. I waited nearly 6 hours to be brought back and checked on and it would likely have been longer if I hadn't had a breakdown because I was in such pain hat I couldn't handle it any longer.
There really needs to be some kind of overflow proceedure in place, it is obscene that it would take that long to be checked out in an emergency room. I was in serious pain and they may not have had any idea but this seems completely unacceptable. Should there not be a way to bring additional staff or additional space to accommodate? Should they be turning people away if they can't handle it? Something definitely needs to be adjusted. I can't imagine the stress their staff is going through having to deal with the impatient patients. The patients by the way have every right when they feel like they came into the emergency room for help but can't get the time of day because all the staff can do is defer them and apologize and say a room isn't available for you yet. Crazy just crazy. Someone who can make some adjustments needs to make them. I have 4 kids and made the trip because I needed to, not because I wanted to, and when I had some way for my kids to be cared for, I was here for 13-14 hours!!
And in the end I was given the same diagnosis that I googled before I went into the emergency room. I did need the treatment and I'm not an expert so I let them do their process to determine the diagnosis but goodness if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it is probably a duck. I feel like much time, pain, money could have been saved in this process.

When my mother and I brought my father here with Covid in April, his overall care was good, but the wait in the ER was horrendous. My father is 79, and he was very sick with heavy breathing and bad chills. Because he was dehydrated to the point of being unable to eat, drink, or keep anything down, my mother specifically told the desk guy at ER that Dad needed an IV right away. He kindly assured us that Dad would have the best of care. Because of Covid, we had to leave him and could only call the ER periodically to try to find out whether he was getting care. The operator lady was snippy and largely unhelpful. Throughout the evening, we were in contact with a couple of our friends/family who are nurses, and they assured us that ER patients are cared for, given a bed and IV, etc. When we spoke with my dad the next morning, he said that he had not been cared for until 11:30. We had taken him in around 6:00. Because my father never complains, I intentionally asked him if they had done ANYTHING for him during that 5 1/2 hour period--any water, blanket, bed, anything. He said that they had done NOTHING. He admitted, "I was about shot." I realize that hospitals are busy and overworked, but to the point of literally doing NOTHING for a sick, 79-year-old Covid patient, for over 5 hours?? That is unacceptable. When he actually got care, the care was very good. The 1-star rating applies solely to the ER. I hope that MFSH takes steps to correct this issue of not getting timely care in the ER.

Went in because I had covid and I was having difficulty breathing and a super rapid heart rate. They left me in the waiting room for 6 hours WITH AN IV IN MY ARM NOT EVEN GIVING ME FLUIDS IN IT. I do not like needles and IVs, so when I inevitably had a panic attack because of the IV someone finally came out to help me get it out of my arm and the doctor came out to talk to me before I left. He told me that I had covid (which I already informed them about) and sent me on my way. Although the doctor was nice, he was not very helpful. I am thankful for the kind nurse that got the IV out of my arm, but other than her, the rest of the staff was pretty horrible. The nurses taking my blood didn't care that I don't like needles and let a new guy use me as a pin cushion trying to get the IV in my arm. Very cold and disconnected to the patients. Do not recommend this hospital.

I ve lowered my review. Because of lack of feedback from er staff

I back and on my 7th hour of waiting with no concern form my sell being

Sad that it s changed so much in just four months.

Everyone there is professional, top of their game medical professionals.

In My Opinion, the unrealistic negative reviews are a shame.

This is a busy place filled with sick and injured people. Of course some people are going to have to wait longer than others.
That is what ER Triage is all about, "the assignment of degrees of urgency to wounds or illnesses to decide the order of treatment of a large number of patients or casualties."

I have been there twice in as many years, in fact just yesterday I took my teenage son there complaining of neck pain and rib pain after a basketball game.
That visit took two hours in total, from x-rays to CT scans, check in, check out and two PA visits. Not Bad At ALL considering I wanted them to the as through as possible.

I HIGHLY recommend this hospital and especially the ER staff.

This hospital is great. From the staff at front desk, admissions, and surgery staff. I've been here several times and always, always treated well. Jason who works in surgery is so kind, down to earth and a great worker. I've been here several times with my children and my patients. Everytime Jason is great, I wish I knew his last name. Also Doctor Adams is one of the best doctors I've ever met. Not only is he talented and smart, he's also calm, kind and makes you feel at ease. Not only will you get top care in this hospital, you will also feel welcome. This is the top hospital in WNY. Keep up the great work

Everyone has good and bad experiences with any hospital. I can t speak on the other units, but delivering our baby here was a dream. We were well taken care of and their staff went out of their way to make us feel as comfortable as humanly possible. When we were moved to the nursery unit, nurse Kim took us over at night. She is an angel. So knowledgeable and passionate of what she does. I honestly can t say enough nice things about her or the entire staff. If and when we are ready to have another child, we will return here. Thank you to everyone who helped us these passed few days.
