The staff was very kind and caring but there are some serious issues with infrastructure. I waited nearly 6 hours to be brought back and checked on and it would likely have been longer if I hadn't had a breakdown because I was in such pain hat I couldn't handle it any longer.
There really needs to be some kind of overflow proceedure in place, it is obscene that it would take that long to be checked out in an emergency room. I was in serious pain and they may not have had any idea but this seems completely unacceptable. Should there not be a way to bring additional staff or additional space to accommodate? Should they be turning people away if they can't handle it? Something definitely needs to be adjusted. I can't imagine the stress their staff is going through having to deal with the impatient patients. The patients by the way have every right when they feel like they came into the emergency room for help but can't get the time of day because all the staff can do is defer them and apologize and say a room isn't available for you yet. Crazy just crazy. Someone who can make some adjustments needs to make them. I have 4 kids and made the trip because I needed to, not because I wanted to, and when I had some way for my kids to be cared for, I was here for 13-14 hours!!
And in the end I was given the same diagnosis that I googled before I went into the emergency room. I did need the treatment and I'm not an expert so I let them do their process to determine the diagnosis but goodness if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it is probably a duck. I feel like much time, pain, money could have been saved in this process.
