Connecticut's premier camera store. Everything for the amateur or the pro. Great customer service, and a knowledgeable staff. Recommended for anyone looking for cameras or photo accessories.

Received a personal call from the store manager and was very pleased the way he handled my unfortunate situation with my broken camera. I look forward to doing business with you in the future. Thank you SO much!
Traded in several items and was treated very fairly, not low balled and closed the deal. Also had my D7100 sensor cleaned to factory specs. My next camera/lens purchase will be through them. Support local business it's good for the economy and everyone.
Friendly knowledgeable staff but a bit over priced on my opinion but very nice to have a local place to develop film
Fantastic experience! I was doing research about purchasing a camera, had two in mind, and wanted to make a purchase locally even though I could have saved sales tax online. Chris at Milford Photo is awesome. Even though it was really busy, Chris took his time to show me the features of the camera I was looking at, provided several lens options and I was a little overwhelmed by all the information he shared with me. The level of service I received wouldn't even be close if I purchased online or in a big box store. While I was there, Chris received a phone call from one of his customers, and although some people might be annoyed by this, I thought it was great that he was willing to spend 10 minutes on the phone walking someone through when they were having trouble. This just means you receive excellent service even after the sale. Awesome experience, extremely knowledgeable staff, and Chris was even considerate of my budget. I walked out with everything that I needed and a brand new camera that I am confident was the best choice. Thank you!!
Came in to this establishment recently while visiting my friend in CT to buy a roll of film because I left my roll back home in another state, the shop is definitely nice and have great merchandise for all your camera needs plus staff is vary friendly. Well my only problem was that I paid $11 for a Kodak roll of 35mm film that came from a 5 pack they open, $11 is vary pricey for one roll of 35mm film considering I can buy a 5pk for $36.95..
Been on hold now for 25 minutes after person picked up and said please hold for just one minute. I guess he meant please hold indefinitely until we close.
I went into the store to get some information about which camera would be best for me and my goals. The sales associate was so kind in explaining and demonstrating a number of key features so I could feel confident about my choice. Very helpful and informative! Thanks!
I visited last week. I went on vacation and had trouble downloading photos from my SIM card. Donna helped me and was very knowledgeable. I would not hesitate to seek them out for any problems I may encounter.
Kind and courteous. Chris was a joy to speak with and bought a couple of items I needed. :) gave some ideas on upgrading too. I'll definitely come back when I'm in town.
Customer service like no other store!!! Milford Photo s team members make you feel right at home and listen to all your needs. They always steer me in the right direction, for all my camera & lens needs! Donna helps me make Beautiful Albums and Jesse is always there to answer all my questions, from off camera flash to the latest lenses!! I honestly just love this Team!!! Best store ever;)
Chris Pirro was very pleasant and patient. He answered all of my questions and helped me make the best decisions regarding my photography needs.
A truly great camera store. The best place for purchasing gear, making prints, and taking classes. Check them out.
I have unsubscribed and have requested to be removed from their obnoxious mailing list yet I still keep getting these annoying email threads about photo field trips.

I recently rediscovered my love of photography and needed to update my camera and set up...I was told to go through B and H in New York as they have the best prices BUT luckily I found MILFORD PHOTO... The prices were better than B and H and the personal attention I received from the staff at Milford Camera was beyond exceptional. I bought my D500 from them and just love it. I then took one of the many photography classes they offer. This one I took was given by Jesse (who is the owner of Milford Photo) to better understand how the newer digital systems work vs the old ASA film camera systems. . I found Jesse's class very helpful, his extensive knowledge and presentation were both entertaining as well as very informative. Jesse was even willing to stay after the class and take the time to answer all our questions in a friendly professional manner...clearly understanding the differences of our individual experiences without making any of us feel foolish. I highly recommend MIFORD PHOTO for any of your photography needs. They have everything you could possible need to enhance your photographing experience and are willing to give you the time you need as well.
I was in a market to buy my first DSLR camera. I'm a novice, and "I got sold" into buying an expensive Olympus OM_D camera. It's been a year. When, I approached the sales guy to help me with it, they weren't very helpful. It's been a year I am stuck with an expensive camera that I don't use and still very unhappy with their service.
The gentleman who resides in Wallingford (I believe his name was Rich) was extremely helpful and knowledgeable as I fired away with questions about tripods, quick release plates, and other related accessories. He was patient and gave honest opinions (with a smile).
I can t speak about prices or other services, but my first visit was a pleasant one.
Always the place to go for cameras and prints. They know they're stuff. Prices are always the best around and most of the time beat Amazon or so close not worth to do online. Plus you get so much attention and information. Have been going over 20 years to them. A few time have a camera in mind and after seeing all the different models, go with the sales person recommend. See Chris for mirrorless cameras as hes been using them for over 10 years. But anyone working will do a great job finding everything you need. But dont forgot to get them to print your great photos.
Thank you Milford photo , great place freindly staff.. Jess keep up the great coustemer satisfaction..
Great place the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful I plan to do the majority of my photography shopping.
Milford Photo is wonderful. I had to get large mounted blowups made and Ray in production did a scan and worked with me to get the best result. He even printed out samples with varying degrees of photoshop adjustments. Love the finished product-incredible customer service!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent and very honest customer service and advice. I recommend highly. You can buy with confidence and have no worries.
Excellent service, competitive prices and expertise in all things photographic.
Wow! Came in with last minute urgent need to print pics off my phone, Erik helped me completely, delivered and earlier than promised!
It would be nice if we got some kind of update on here or the voicemail. Maps shows they re open as of the 6th and their voicemail hasn t been updated since April 2nd. Drove by multiple times to confirm they are closed.
This is a great photography store. If they don't have it in stock (unlikely), they can get it for you.
The staff is excellent.
They also offer workshops and classes. I haven't taken one yet, but I'll update my review once I do.
Great service, knowledgable staff very helpful. Competitive pricing
Not very helpful service, i had to wait for 10 minutes to talk to someone when there were 4 people on the floor. Their stock of inks is poor, many were expired and the best they could do was 15% off. Would a grocery store sell expired food? No, they just throw it out. Over priced products as well. You're better off just not going there.
The only local camera and video store source that I trust.
Great staff and lots of high quality products. I go here for all my camera and print needs
Very helpful, very attentative and their prices are in line with on line stores
Never treated so incredibly rude over the phone! Would NEVER do business here based on rude, nasty customer service. Barely had my question out of my mouth when I was cut off and hung up on. Would gives less than 1 star if possible.
Had a great time with the Splash meet up group. Made lots of friends, learned more about ISO, and enjoyed a nice sunset. Thanks Jesse and Family!!!
Well-stocked local photo store with printing services and framing services as well
Dishonest.
I called today and asked if they processed C-41 film on site. "Yes" was the reply on the phone.
"How long does the processing take, an hour or so?"
"2 days"
"Wait, what? 2 days? Why does it take 2 days?"
"It's not fast like digital. It takes longer"
"And how much do you charge for developing and scanning to a CD?"
"$6.99 for the developing and $6.99 for the scanning."
I hung up the phone and went to Jay's Photoshop in Old Saybrook, as I was working in Meriden this afternoon. He developed and scanned my roll of film in one hour. $3 for developing and $5 for scanning to a CD.
If you have 2 or more rolls of film, it would be cheaper to Flat Rate USPS the rolls to Jay's and have him mail them back, and then progressively cheaper as the film count increases.
Previous Experience:
I had $30 in various prints made. I opened the envelope at checkout to find that all of my 8x10s and 8x12s had dark strips from a printer error. No one bothered to check my prints before sending them out the door.
The next time I went to get prints, I checked at the register to have the cashier roll his eyes and sigh with frustration that I wanted to inspect my prints before leaving the store.
I try to support local businesses, it's easier to buy everything online, but I believe in helping keep our local businesses open. Unfortunately, places like Milford Photo give a bad reputation to the few surviving camera stores that still exist these days.
Excellent service, knowledgeable staff, wide range of equipment and services.
ProMaster tripod camera friend bought there broke at its base. After going on Promaster's website explaining the situation to customer service the representative contacted Milford Photo notifying them I was stopping by with it.
Upon my arrival showing them what happened immediately I was given a new tripod...
Had an issue with my Tough Olympus camera. Walked in and was immediately greeted. The clerk who initially helped deferred to their Olympus expert. After a brief discussion he was able to fix the problem. Brick & mortar businesses are valued. Thanks!
What a great place and a great customer service. These guys know everything there it to know about photography and that makes the conversation so much easier. Just purchased some gear for our marketing department' media crew. I highly recommend them.
Highly recommend getting your head shots here! Friendly and efficient service. Great experience!
If you have nothing good to say, better not to say anything at all. This place is just terrible from all aspects of business and customer service. Very unfriendly, and very uneducated about product in film/video. Educate your staff! All of them!!!! Especially the ones that may be cleaning a sensor on a $5,000 camera!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bought a camera here a few weeks ago and had some issues with the image quality. After much online research of my own I was not able to fix the problem. I reached out to Milford camera and they replied quickly to my troubles! I went back in and they helped me fix the issues which I believed was not fixable. They are very knowledgeable and kind, unlike what you might find a big chain stores. I m glad I bought from them and would recommend this store to anyone.
FALSE ADVERTISING - I went to Milford photo to trade in my camera because they were giving a 50% bonus on trade-ins. Don't believe them! Yes, they give you a bonus, but their trade in prices are MUCH LOWER than any competitors. These guy's are only about profit ! Do yourself a favor and shop at reputable dealers like Camera Wholesalers in Stamford, or BH, Adorama etc, or shop on Amazon. My third visit to this store to make a purchase, and the third time leaving without a new camera. What a waste of my time. Hopefully you won't waste yours !
Everyone here is great! Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, no one ever tries to up sell you and the have so much too offer from prints, classes, equipment and especially knowledge! I love talking to Jeff about anything and everything Photography. Hope this helps to get you in the right place that will set you in the right direction whether hobby or professional venture.

Hung up on me while on the phone trying to get info horrible sales in person as well
Nice camera store. I had problem with DSLR and they gave good advice.
Awesome deals and even better photos printed and framed!!!! We love Milford photo!!!
The staff is knowledgeable and courteous. Each time I have gone in there I never felt pressured to make a purchase. I've spoken with a guy named Chris and he has never steered me wrong and was always willing to spend time with me if I had any questions I had or was going to make.
I feel if you want to get the right answer to a question you might have, and want a quality product, go to Milford Photo which is a dedicated photography store, not just a section within a large chain type store with someone who is working in that department because they were told to so. I highly recommend Milford Photo and would drive out of my way to go there before any other place for my photography needs.
Staff was very impatient and prices were very high, but had a lot of selection. Not sure if I would go back.
Michael helped me rework one of my wedding photos so I could fit it to the size I wanted without cropping some of my husband. He went above and beyond to ensure I was pleased with my wedding picture, even editing it for me so it would look better in a frame and not be cropped. So impressed and excited to frame my wedding photo. Thanks a ton Michael!
Excellent service. Fair prices. Enjoyable experience all around. Highly recommend
What can I say- excellent services as always. I've been going there off and on now for about three years. I have yet to have a bad experience. I've bought film, lighting, filters, etc. and they most often have what I need.
I'm also a big fan of the staff. The guys who run the camera display always say hello and ask how I'm doing. I'm a big Olympus and Sony guy- and they've got that stuff in stock as well. They seem like real camera guys which I'm a fan off.
It's been awhile since I've done one of their workshops- but the one I did was very informative and didn't feel rushed either. I just dig it. If your in the area you need to stop by. Best part is after you purchase some stuff there's always some ducks hanging out a block down waiting to get photographed:) I rarely go to brick and mortar stores anymore, but this one is well worth the time and I consider it a destination. It's the whole experience. 5 star all the way.
We've used equipment from Milford Photo in order to produce before and after pictures of our patients. This involves high end and very specialized lenses and flashes. The staff is very knowledgeable and always willing to help. While sometimes it can take a while to be seen on a Saturday, this speaks to their expertise.
Horrible experience never againJust went there to trade in 2 lenses they act like you're going to steal when you ask to look at one of there lenes and the money that they offered me is a joke on $1500 worth of lenses and only offer you $375
Top notch camera store in every way. Will always go to this store for any camera or film need.
I live in New York but I love this place, great people, professional staff and the quality of prints awesome.
One of the few camera stores left in Connecticut. Good personal service with knowledgeable staff. They carry all the name brands in photo as well as a good selection of A/V equipment. The even provide an area along with staff help you to work on your photos and print them on promises.
The store is alright, but the big problem that I have with them is that they charged me $7 extra to scan the negatives at a "high resolution".
a 58% price increase to press a button and change one setting in a scanner?? I know that they have the upper hand here, but that's just silly, excessive and unfair in my opinion. I do photography professionally, and it's tough for me to justify to a client a price increase like that when they don't know the difference between different resolutions anyways.
I have been a customer of Milford Photo since they first opened. Every camera I own, every lens I ve purchased has been from them. They have excellent customer service. They teach you about your purchase, offer classes to further your photo abilities, the list is endless!! Their staff is friendly and always there to help!! I love going in there and looking at all their products!! It s so much better than buying on line!!!!
Unimpressed with my first experience here. I Dropped off my camera for a simple sensor cleaning. I was told they need to keep it for 24hrs, fine. 26hrs later I come to pick it up and nothing has been done, it was still in a drawer. I ended up having to wait 45min after driving back and forth twice from Norwalk. Wast of time and money, doing it myself from now on. They did give me half off the already over priced cleaning though.
Update: Sensor is even more dirty then when I brought it in.
Update Update: Received a call for the owner, he offered a full refund and for me bring the camera back for another cleaning.
Staff was very attentive and patient while getting a camera serviced and looking at new models. Love supporting the local shop and these guys and gals know their stuff.
Great experience - friendly, cooperative, and helpful. I came in already very informed of my options, and when the person helping me didn't know the answer, she sought out a colleague who did. Great selection and ambiance. Thanks!
I came to this store to purchase accessories for my Nikon D3200. The staff was very helpful and patient with me. They even put on my UV filter for me! Very helpful and knowledgeable.
