Brought in my car for a transmission check engine light that came on in the middle of a road trip. We were treated with speedy service and a very friendly explaination of what exactly might be going on with my car by both Clint and the senior transmission builder. The waiting area is also luxurious and very relaxing. Overall I can't recommend them enough.
I just moved here, I know nothing about cars and my dad and I pulled into this place... Phenomenal! Patient, kind, they answer any questions I had and confirm anything my daddy was trying to explain.They are doing a theral check on my car. Whereas I was worried they may miss something, I call and they have it on the list of already checked or to be checked! As a single mother you trust so much in your machanic to get it right the first time and save you money... Thank You Jesus! I believe in these Men and their four leg cute, smart friend .
i have not had any work done yet but i am towing my car here today for service, i went inside the shop and i must agree so far so good clean shop and Gary was very helpful and easy to communicate with. i am fixing a classic car in memory of my mother and will update each stage and step of the process along with pictures
This Place is great. The customer service is great and I had 1 MASTER Tech Diagnose My vehicle, and 1 MASTER tech repair my vehicle. Money well spent, and the bad comments are obviously about cost. Let's put things into perspective: The saying is cheap isn't good and good isn't cheap. -Fix it right the first time if you have the funds to do so. if you don't that's okay most of us don't but don't make it seem like a place is horrible because they're prices are to HIGH for you. They have a NATIONWIDE WARRANTY for EVERYTHING, and above all else they fix ALL YEAR<>MAKES<>MODELS. If something fails they will cover it no problems at all. I want someone who can DIAGNOSE and REPAIR my vehicle, because a shade tree (about 95% of them) does not know how to accurately diagnose a vehicle, (excluding obvious problems). Thank you Clint and the team from AAMCO.
They seem very knowledgeable I think they done a good job I had a transmission put in and they resealed a transfer case for me replaced the fuse in my computer system
All of these people that are making false complaints (look who they are) and lies are the same kind of people that I had to deal with when time to collect rent from my 38 rental properties. If it cost something, they're gonna complain and whine. Believe me. They have time to do it. That being said, these are great people to do business with. Top notch service and communication.
I had them do some work on my 2017 F-150 about a month ago. I would like to say they did a excellent job. The lady named Amy at the front desk was very friendly and kept me informed on everything that was being done. Just wanted to say thank you Aamco crew, especially Amy for her patience.
I m so glad I came here to get my car fixed! The service was excellent and I will never visit any other shop again. The owner Gary is very professional and he provided me with updates about any issues found with my car and informed me of all potential solutions as well. I am extremely grateful for the wonderful service I received!
AAMCO does great work on fixing my car. They get straight to the point on what the problem is and they fix it. My car is driving great!! I would recommend others to let them work on their car problems. Also Lindsey the cashier is a very nice person.
I was in town from Raleigh, NC on a hunting trip when I submerged my truck and by the time I got it out, I had already lost overdrive and 4th gear. I limped it to this shop for them to take a look at it. I needed a complete transmission rebuild along with flushing of my differentials and transfer case. Though originally quoted a finish date after I had to be back to North Carolina, these guys worked tirelessly to finish the truck in a ridiculous amount of time to get me back on the road on schedule. I do most of my own mechanical work and do not relinquish that responsibility lightly. I also am familiar with how long it should take to do the work they did, and needless to say, it was done in record time! Clint and the rest of the guys were great! Clint kept me posted every step of the way and when things popped up that needed addressing, they were known problems so I never felt I was getting played. The truck got me home with no problems what so over. It's shifting strong and running cooler then it had previously. I HIGHLY recommend these guys if you need help. They really went above and beyond to help in out-of-towner who had gotten himself into a bind.
Will never use again!!!! To begin with they won't allow you to speak with the person doing the work, imagine having surgery but never meeting the doctor. They consistently said they would get back with me but never did. Very unprofessional
Broke down driving back from North Carolina to Florida, we didn't know where to go. It was a Sunday afternoon and everyone was closed so we decided Aamco in Macon GA was probably the best place to go if we needed warranty work down the road as compared to a small shop, I knew it was going to be expensive because transmissions always are. I just want to say this shop surprised me, yes it was still expensive but their customer service was great, Clint was awesome, always very professional and taking time with me explaining what was going on and keeping me informed on the timeline so I could be back on my way. The car now runs great-way better now than even before the transmission failed. Thanks again to Clint and the tech that repaired my transmission.
I stopped by to see what I could do to get my 2018 Nissan Xterra looked at because it was running rough and spoke with Amy at the front counter and she was very helpful and knew a lot about cars than most women I think.. she was answering phones and waiting on me at the same time and was very patient and kept a smile on her face. I want to tell Amy thank you for everything and especially the great customer service

Best bunch of people ever!! Ms. Brandy and Mr. Gary are always there to help whenever they can. Technicians are very knowledgeable and courteous. All around great experience. Did I mention, they're the best bunch of people ever??
I had such a wonderful experience with Aamco. They did an awesome job on my brakes. The lady at the front desk was SO sweet and helpful. I definitely recommend them and will be returning. Amazing staff, great pricing, and great work!!
I will never ever again have any repairs done here or recommend anyone to come here. I was treated with the most horrible customer service and in addition over priced for such a simple job. I hate that I was placed in such an unfortunate predicament to where I had to pay for such outrageous and ridiculous service and prices. I talk with several other mechanics and other businesses which stated that the work that was done was not equal to the money or parts that were used. Moreover, others stated they don't see how these people sleep at night knowing what they are doing to innocent consumers.
Great service! The complaints on here are mainly people that have no idea what they're talking about or just mad their car sucks and cant afford to get it actually fixed !!! Also the dog is adorable and so sweet.
I took my vehicle in knowing there was an issue with a bolt that broke out of the transmission, I requested a bolt that was missing to be installed, topped off on trans fluid and quicksteel epoxy to cover the broken bolt housing. Service actually provided was only looking over the undercarriage and pointing out issues.they topped off my trans fluid but didn't have the bolt for the transmission to be mounted to the t bracket. Was still charged the full amount of labor even though not all I was quoted for was completed. 116 dollars to top a vehicle off on transmission fluid is a bit ridiculous. I hope they make right with me a give a partial credit for services provided.
* I spoke with the shop Manager and he let me know that I can bring the bolts by when I receive them from Walsh Honda tomorrow and they will put them in for me. 5 star communication with these guys. I will update tomorrow after work has been completed.
I personally have never had a horrible experience with my car until I moved from Detroit, MI to Albany, GA.. I have an 08 Cadillac AWD and my transfer case, output shaft, and transmission had to be replace. The first place I took her too was my first mistake, my car was in the shop for a week and finally service manager had to tell me and my warranty company the I had severe water erosion and "someone" had tampered with my transfer case and tried to weld it back together (which of course my warranty would not cover). I was shocked because my car had never been in any type of water accident. My warranty company (AUL) suggested I should take it to Aamco, of course the nearest one was in Macon (an hour and a half away). From the minute I spoke to Sean and Gary they were completely wonderful. I gave them the best detailed description of what the Dealership claimed was wrong with my car. All I asked is if they could repair her under what they quoted me, which was $5300. I personally didn't expect what came next. Sean called me after a couple about a week with my car and told me that the damages I described to him doesn't match anything from what was actually wrong with my car. Yes, my transfer case needed to be replaced and the output shaft did have slight rust but there was no water erosion or tampering. Sean explained the part that was rusted was because that component is not protected so it would eventually get some rust. I was completely shocked when Sean also let me know that 2 GM messages in 2010 were put out about the exact noise and issues my car was having. He ended up calling my warranty company and having them come and inspect my car. Because of Sean and the AWSOME employees at Aamco, my warranty covered everything!!! I never expected that my warranty company was going to cover anything, this Aamco team are no doubt true and honest mechanics that actually care and know how to run a business.
Thanks you so much Sean and Gary!!! Your team is truly the best and I plan on being a returning customer until I leave Georgia! The hour and a half drive is completely worth it!!!!
The first dealership Prince GMC, Chevrolet, Buick, and Cadillac (in Albany, GA) I warn everyone DO NOT GO THERE!!! It's said because the service team Jimmy is great and does his best to satisfy the customer but the Service Manager needs to be kept in back and nowhere near customers. I watched this man disrespect other customers that were trying to get service and he completely lied to me and my husband. I had the service manager tell me that my car was still being looked at, while I had 3 mechanics and two other employees approach me to let me know no one has went near my car. There is so much more that it is sad. Never again will I step near that place.
This company and the people that work for this company are scammers. Asked the mechanic to quote me a price I got one solid price, after my vehicle arrived there the price jump up by 300 dollars didn t authorize any work to be done guy threw a bogus diagnostic charge on my bill will never use this company they will patch your transmission together n ride you to the bank!!!
These guys are a joke. They kept my car for almost 4 weeks and then said the car was ready and made me wait almost 2 hours to get the keys and pay. It was literally a nightmare..down to the spooky decorations that said "you can never leave" as they made me wait...
First. Customer service was beyond great..my trans went out between Florida and Michigan on a Saturday.i called them late Saturday and I actually talked to someone. Gary. Long story short. They took great care of me and my dog Cassie. They had me back on the road in a short period of time. Great integrity. Gave me options. Would highly recommend..it's great to see customer service at this level again. 5 plus stars. Thanx. Brian
The master!!!! Mechanic didn't understand that I had 3 universal joints on my truck...i had to take my truck elsewhere for a understandable price...i got an email saying I was drunk and rude...lol ...i don't even drink...just know my stuff...i might have made them drunk....go somewhere else where the technician has enough experience to know off hand how to work on a a car or truck...trust me I work for a living...have a blessed day....i have seen your reviews and anyone who has had a bad expirence at your shop is blamed and told that that they must have the wrong place ...hahahaha...i must have the wrong place....lol
Once again mislead by them and convinced to bring my car back so that they could correct the issue / no mention of any conditions that had to be met in order for this to take place. He had the car for 2 weeks and never called until after I had placed 3 calls about the car/ no message as to fees he was charging until after he took the car apart / requested $700 for repairs to damage they caused and on top of that they have now damaged my other mirror on the passenger side which they were not even ask to touch/ he refuses to release my car or put it back together unless I remove my reviews or sign papers stating that they did not cause any damage to the car. I will not stop and have filed a legal case now in reference to him falsely taking the car and giving the impression that he was going to fix it without a charge and never disclosing that a charge would apply before receiving it nor did he mention that I would have to remove any comments in reference to his business before he would put the car back together..
As I stated the age of the vehicle would be the response given by owner in complaint. 1) Parts according to the young lady who answered the phone were in on the 2nd week my car was there and were about to be installed. 2) I never stated that I had limited funds but I did say that I was not willing to pay $150hr for the shop to try and locate a wiring issue when I can take it to a shop that specializes in it. I now understand why he addressed my son instead of me in the shop. Let me be clear I have no problem with admitting if I am wrong, and the courts will decide that. If I am wrong and the shop was not responsible for reporting damage to me at the time the car arrived I will post that judgement and retract my poor review. Unlike the owner I am not trying to put anyone down or say anything negative to make a point I am speaking facts only which is what he should practice. Do not speak about my finances unless you know what's in my account , or I had to make some payment arrangement because I couldn't cover my bill. That was in poor taste, but hey nice try.
2nd good experience I have had at Aamco. Could not find issue I discribed and despite spending an hour charged me nothing and would not take $20 for coffee! Iam used to Florida shops trying torip me off. Hihgly recommend.
Best auto mechanic shop I've ever been to great customer service (Sean) great guy called me kept me updated on what was going on with my vehicle and actually took the time to find the real issues with what was wrong with my vehicle this is a great place definitely will be back.
I went to get my transmission fixed due to it slipping gears and they started right away. They seemed very professional. I didn t stay around long because I had to do some errands but their lounge area was beautiful. Got my car back and it runs great.
Good bunch for people. I dropped of my ford because It was in limp mode. They worked on it diligently for weeks to find the issue and even though they could not find the issue. They did not charge me a dime.... I have never had a mechanic that owns a business not charge me anything I was floored. Thanks you for the effort!!!!!
Gary and everyone that works here are absoloutely amazing. They do not try to rip you off by telling you you need something when you dont. They are very helpful and always great with advice. Very animal friendly as well. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.
Put in a new transmission for me and said they checked my transfer case which apparently they didn't and it blew up on the side of the road not 20 miles away. They took zero credit for the accident or offered any help to get me fixed back up. After talking with them over the phone they said they never touched the transfer cases but in the store they said they replaced the seal and fluid on it. Really sketchy place.
This place is amazing...not only do they have good customer service along with quality work, they have a VERY clean environment while waiting. And ladies get this their bathroom is CLEAN. That's hard to find these days in a car shop. So stop by and tell them I sent you and receive good quality work lol. Oh yea you will get that regardless
All I can say is that they have a customer for life!!! I took my vehicle in for some warranty work, and Brandy and the entire team is Awesome!! Excellent customer service and they live up to their name! I was kept in the loop on the progress of my repairs, and I would recommend AAMCO in Macon Ga, to anyone I know !! I initially went in for a couple of repairs , but will definitely use them for all of my routine maintenance as well!! Oh, and the inside of their shop is AWESOME!!!!!
I have been to Aamco Transmission in Macon twice and despite my "transmission" woes, the staff was tremendously friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Both of the front reception personnel (Clint, last year and Brandy, presently) went above and beyond to assist me. In addition, the mechanical work was handled promptly and professionally. I would not hesitate to have my car repaired or serviced there again.
Went into this place after reading a review where someone complained about their repair services. The owner of the place went online and explained they were at a different location but agreed to rectify they're problem anyway even though his location was not responsible. THIS IS THE KIND OF PLACE I WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH. When they agree to stand behind the Aamco name even if they were not at fault. My suspicions paid off. They diagnosed my problem correctly the first time even though I didn't get the work done there. Clinton was very understanding and courteous throughout my time there and never made me feel obligated. I'd definitely recommend this place.
I received excellent service from these guys. What I appreciated most about the whole experience is that they did an excellent job of explaining to me exactly what they thought the problem was and exactly why they thought this was the case. They even followed up with me a few weeks after the work was done on my car to see how it was running.
I called this location to ask a few questions in regards to issues I was experiencing with my car. The lady I spoke with, I believe her name was Leslie, was very rude. She could not answer any of my questions & seemed to not know anything I was calling in regards to. She told me It would be $100 just to have my vehicle checked for issues. I asked to speak with someone else & she hung up the phone. I later called back & spoke with a Terrence & he was the complete opposite. Very knowledgeable & professional. He even let me know to have the vehicle checked with their system that it was FREE & they would perform the check at no charge. I would have to pay for the repairs if they found any issues that they could fix. This is the same check Leslie tried to charge $100 for. When I arrived on Friday Terrence was no longer at the branch & Leslie was working. She then tried to charge me $89.95 for the check, I left & tried another location due to her poor customer service. I would not recommend this location & judging by the other reviews they seem to try to overcharge & get over on people.
Had transmission replaced and ran great. The nice at the front was really helpful and made everything go smoothly and was very informational on the options I had . I will definitely return if I need somewhere to go for any kind of car care
