I went to Dr. Klein because a neuro-opthalmologist at Johns Hopkins referred me to an epileptologist, but encouraged me to see a neurologist locally as well, since getting an appointment at Johns Hopkins can take some time. My symptoms seemed to indicate a simple partial seizure (gripping of the muscles around my eyes and mouth on the right side of my body, visual changes, phantom smells, ringing in my ears, and biting my tongue/kicking my right leg during sleep. He did a three day ambulatory EEG, and then a week later, I had my appointment to debrief with him. I was not allowed to have any information about my test prior to this appointment, even though results were ready two days before. In the office, Dr. Klein told me that my results were normal and that there was absolutely nothing wrong with me. The muscles in my face were seizing right in front of him, but he proceeded to insist that I had no problem. I told him that there was certainly a problem, that my symptoms were incapacitating, and asked what I should do next to try to get better so that I could return to work. He repeated, like a broken record, "You don't need to do anything. Just go back to work. I'm happy to sign the clearance forms for your employer, no restrictions."
I was completely in shock. Did he mean that I was experiencing pseudoseizures? I had just seen a psychiatrist days before who did not believe that to be the case. Should I stop taking my migraine preventive? A previous doctor had suggested my symptoms could be an unusual type of migraine, and had started me on nortriptiline while I worked to rule out other potential causes. He said it was not epilepsy, and in his opinion, not migraines either. Just stress he said. Go ahead back to work. I left his office sobbing. I had spent every day of the past two months having incapacitating episodes of vision changes, light-headedness, seizing of muscles in the face, leg, and sometimes hand, and bouncing around from doctor to doctor desperate to find some relief only to be told by this man that there was no problem?? He was basically saying, "Cut the crap" as if I were faking my symptoms! I was so confused by his extremely irresponsible and cruel behavior that I got myself re-evaluated by a mental health professional. I am sane, my symptoms are real, and Dr. Klein has no business practicing medicine. I am still in the process of diagnosis and treatment, but no doctor I've spoken to since has had anything but disdain for his mishandling of my case. Stay away, and find a doctor who treats his patients with some respect.

They charged $4,327 for a sleep study and office visit - and still got details wrong in my chart. That's not including the $980 I'm supposed to pay for the CPAP machine they prescribed. It remains to be seen if the diagnosis was correct. The cost is beyond outrageous.

Although Dr. Bui is an incredible doctor, I tried over and over to call to make an appointment with absolutely no luck. Finally my insurance company tried and also had no luck. A few days later, insurance called back and made the appointment for me. When I had to cancel my follow up, once again I could not get through. I tried several times with no luck and once again had to ask my insurance company to cancel for me on the day of my appointment. I got a no show bill in the mail. If they expect me to pay this for their negligence on paying their phone bill, I will seek legal action.

STOP CALLING!!! I said to take me off your list three times. This is now harassment.

2 stars only because the assistant and desk staff members were great :) However...

I came to Dr. Ross after reading all of the shining reviews for him, hoping to find someone that would take the time to listen to my symptoms and history and make an effort to help me find some answers or at least point me in the right direction. Right away I was shocked at how cold he was, answering with few words such as its not life threatening, so you need to move on and live with it and if anyone gives you an answer they re lying to you . The entire visit his tone was very dismissive and condenscending towards the symptoms that I have been worrying over for 2 years and I felt shut down. Guess we re only supposed to go to the doctor if our life is in immediate danger? I ended up leaving upset and confused, with no new information at all that I will still have to pay for. Would not recommend to anyone without obvious life threatening conditions.

Communication with the office = 1 star.

Communication with the office = 1 star.
I was referred for a sleep study. We did the sleep study and no one called me to let me know the results were in. Two months later, I called and they said, oh, yeah, we have your results. I asked if I could get a copy of the results; I was told she could send me a copy which was never done. (The doctor's assistant was better, I would give her 4 stars.)

The sleep study = 1 star
As for the sleep study itself, the technology felt like something developed in the 1980's -- a giant headband. A Fitbit offers more advanced technology, and you get nightly data instead of data one time. Maybe if the office sent me the report like they promised I would have a better impression of the test.

Doctor's Philosophy = 1 star
The doc wanted to jump right in and prescribe antidepressants as an "off-label" sleep aid. Upon looking up the drug characteristics, the drug is a) toxic b) addictive and c) many people report it doesn't work. The doctor made no effort to inform me of potential side effects of the drug and said simply: most people tolerate it.

Dr. Klein and his staff were extremely professional and knowledgeable in addition to showing genuine concern for me as a new patient. The Doctor spent more time askimg questions about the history and state of my seizure disorder than other neurologists I have seen over the years. His depth of knowledge and expeirence is easily apparent. If you have epilepsy I can not think of a better choice.

Dr. Pavel Klein was the most helpful specialist who discovered the cause of my stroke-like episodes. After 3 years of specialists and ER visits, and several hospitalizations, Dr. Klein prescribed a 72 hours CVEEG monitoring at home. From this test, he uncovered the cause of my dizziness, nausea, emesis, and took the initiative to recommend a treatment plan to my PCP. This treatment plan worked very well and I can't thank enough to Dr. Klein and his team, for freeing me from those awful, recurring episodes.

I could not be more happy that I was referred here. After having a bad experience with another neurologist I was feeling pretty hopeless and embarrassed. Dr Klein and the staff have showed me compassion during every visit and phone call and have always listened. My symptoms and test results were not simple and easy to form a diagnosis and I was terrified of being turned away again but Dr Klein ran tests I'd never heard of before and made sure I got the treatment I needed. My sleepiness had been dismissed so many times as irresponsible decisions made by a young person. Just as important as getting treatment, I was validated by Dr Klein. I have my life back and now I couldn't imagine living the way I used to. I am forever thankful!

Dr. Klein was highly recommended to me. I found Dr. Klein to be extremely knowledgeable, patient and caring. I had been suffering from insomnia and migraines for 20+ yrs. Both conditions had been getting progressively worse, to the point where I was getting migraines daily and I went months without a good nights' sleep. My internist had prescribed several medications but none worked. After spending considerable time with me and asking me many questions, Dr Klein prescribed one medication. My results: I sleep 8-9 hrs every night and I get far fewer migraines. The quality of my life has increased dramatically. I wish I had seen him years ago!

The office was timely in making my appointment and when I arrived they took me into the waiting room quickly. The questionnaire they took was very thorough.
I did have a concern about the fact that they did not give me a receipt when I returned the expensive equipment after a 72 hour study that happened over the weekend. I had to sign being responsible for the equipment when I checked it out but when I returned it I was not given a receipt to show I returned the equipment.
Overall I am impressed with the practice.
