There is no fee to come in and it is family friendly. Prices on Microsoft items are high and there is a secure shopping are for employees only. There are a few good places to take pictures.

Located in the same building where a sign touts that Xbox Research happens, a visitor already feels like they are walking into something distinctly Microsoft. The Visitors Center is a tidy but surprisingly small area that offers a quick rundown of Microsoft's history so quick that it feels like a Cliffs Notes version. There is a heavy emphasis on Xbox here as well. Across the aisle is the Company Store that is also open to the public, although you can gather the main purpose of the visitor's center is to sell and promote as the store is over half the size of the actual visitor's area in comparison. Still, a good time - and one at no charge for admission - but it could be so much more.

It is free and they let you try all the toys. Not a huge visitor area and can be done in 1 hour if you are into tech and games. It is a huge campus, the visitor center is building 92, and number is still going up when I was leaving the campus.

Waited in line for so long and finally I was the next person to try the AR demo. It turned out the staff came and told me he was not able to do the demo for me since it s close to 7:00 pm. Obviously he should have told me the line was close as soon as I joined the line in the beginning instead of wasting my time.

Thanks

It's a cool visitor center where you can check out the best products out on the market from Microsoft. You can also buy their swag. However it's pretty small and doesn't really offer a big glimpse into the history of Microsoft or their founders (though there is an interactive history in photos).

Awesome..

It being in the actual microsoft complex was probably what made it most interesting. Other than that it was basically as interesting as any normal computer/electronics store. It would have been much better if visitors were allowed to try out new developments such as Windows 10 or the hololens.

In the visitor center, a pioneer of technology, many new Microsoft products are available here. Customers can make an appointment and change the certificate to enter the park, and there are many surrounding products that can be purchased.

Very familiar with Microsoft, so the products displayed in the visit center are no strangers. However, there are so many luxury cars for Microsoft employees, and Microsoft's canteen is really good.

I've been here many times, as I lead tour groups. They are always disappointed. Then again, why does Microsoft need a visitor's center when everyone already knows about them?! So, it's a nice gesture - at best. Here is a basic rundown of what to expect:

There is a quick museum style window with a timeline of a few items including the atari and VHS stuff. Then there is a posterboard type picture of the original Microsoft guys - Gates is so young! Then a pic of them as a team now. There are interesting facts about each person. Then you proceed to a bank of laptops for use, I've done a few emails there, but it seems that often a compute isn't connected to the internet and you have to go to another one (if available). Then there is a small group of phones and mp3 players etc, and a few video game consoles where games can be played (that seems to be where all the students end up until it's time to go). There are a few other displays that have some interesting features to them, but nothing mind-blowing or amazing like one would expect from Microsoft.

Across the hall is a tourist/trinket store where you can buy your shirt/pens/waterbottle etc. That's it. What I wish is that they at least had a cool 'Microsoft' displayed somewhere in front of the building or something. My groups always want to take a group photo at Microsoft, but there aren't any decent places to do this that actually have 'Microsoft' displayed where we can all gather around it, smile and show our friends/family back home where we were.

Anyway, I don't fault MS for a lame visitor's center. They don't need it. I appreciate at least that they have something - and if they charged for it they would definitely need it to be a lot more interactive and interesting. It's about what I'd expect for something free and unnecessary for their business success.

So there is a Microsoft Store at this location now so there is a fair bit to do.

I got to try the hololens as well as a while bunch of other Microsoft products.

The store has a good assortment of Microsoft themed clothing and other promo type items. It is a bit pricey bit reasonable.

The visitor center has a bunch of different exhibits but is a bit bare. There is room to grow so hopefully they keep adding to it.

Small but very clean and lots of Microsoft product. However, the shop there doesn't have every thing like Bellevue shop like Surface, Band, Xbox etc. It is also expensive, even for employees to get merchandise. For example, a simple keychain or card holder with a zip line cost 5$.

For lovers of information technology, Microsoft is part of history. The visitation center is very small with some products on display and some cool technologies to try. There is also a shop with several souvenirs. For those who are not driving, Seattle has fast bus lines.

They don t answer their phone or respond to emails. I ve been trying to get a hold of them for weeks about a case order that was forwarded to Microsoft campus, but they never responded to it. Pretty sure their receptionist died at this rate. Someone should check on them. Maybe get them replaced.

The Microsoft Visitors Center is TOTALLY worth a visit if you're ever outside of Seattle! The gift shop has tons of unique geek swag at very reasonable prices. I kept hoping I could sneak into the "employee only" section of the store, but I wasn't ninja enough :(

First it took 35 mom to find a parking spot, then the experience is lowest common denominator, weekend cares about Xbox etc.. let so see re as l history or cutting edge side of Microsoft...

The centre has a nice setup and friendly staff, but to be honest I was expecting a little more. There were more Xbox games to try than info on the history of Windows. It was also really hard to find parking. It has sings for visitor parking but it was full; however, the visitor centre was empty. So are employees parking in visitor spots?! We almost gave up on visiting because of the parking.

Interesting items on display, though surprise Microsoft does not put on a larger presentation of products and future products, then offer to sale same products.

I was disappointed that I was not authorized to purchase software products.

The dumb windows 10 auto update sucks. Can you let users decide what to update instead of forcing them to auto update all? My old Nvidia display driver is working very well, then why does windows 10 auto update it to a silly new version that is so buggy and slow on gamming? (By default, it is ok to Auto update for regular users who do even care, but can we allow to choose " not allowed updated" for advanced users?)

A good place is a good place, that is, there are too many Indian death moms, a racing simulator, and an A-three queue. The whole family has 13 old and dead mothers to go to the queue. The body smell is big and smelly. The whole exhibition hall is full of jb smells from Indians.

A public portal into a mostly closed organization. A small computing museum and a company store are open to the public. Worth the trip to pick up fairly affordable Microsoft logo clothing of various types. Lots of interesting nick knacks for the home or office.

Anyone can visit the visitor center anytime. They have parking available for visitors although this can be a challenge if you visit during busy hours. The visitor center involves a display of most of their products. My favourite part was the store that had branded items. You need to dedicate at least 2 hours if you want to test and use most of their products and still shop at the store the lines can be long. Make sure you carry an ID or a passport it is required upon entry.

Sadly the Visitor Center is seriously lacking on the history side - why not build up from the past and then go to the future? It's basically a display of currently available products, which you can't even buy in the company store across the hallway. That's a shame.

I can't expect people to spend more than 30 minutes here.

Honestly, it left much to be desired. The small section that goes over the history and future of Microsoft is cool in some ways, but not as impressive as it could be. It, in many ways, feels like an afterthought. The store right next to the visitor center has decent pricing on a lot of different Microsoft swag, such as shirts, backpacks, pencils, mugs and anything else you can plaster a logo on.

My biggest issue and concern is they show off a lot of cool hardware/software in the visitor center, yet non-employees aren't able to buy either. No Surface, No Xbox, No Phones, No Windows, No Office and No Games. While I understand to an extent not offering a huge variety, it would have been nice to have the option of buying at least hardware there. Employee remarked, "You'll have to go the Microsoft Store in downtown Bellevue."

The area itself is pretty cool as a fan, but is very small and I can't picture myself being there longer than 20-30 minutes. For being such a big mark on the technology industry and Bellevue/Redmond itself, it would have been cool to see more history & insight into the tech giant.

You can do better Microsoft.

Small visitor center with limited things to see. Some neat interactive ones. Not too much excitement. Nice staff. There's a shop with things to buy, but they're mostly made in China stuff with logos or text. Judging by the visitor center, it looks like they're working very hard on facial recognition and facial emotional recognition.

If I had a nickel for every hour I've wasted in the last 4 years with Vista problems I'd be wealthier than Bill Gates.

Microsoft reality -

- Use their products and you will have constant problems.

- They make up for having lousy products by having customer service people not speak English, and they try to pawn you off on someone else because they have no clue how to fix even basic problems.

- Good news - by using Microsoft, one is forced to hone their troubleshooting skills because a Vista computer won't work unless the user knows how to fix its constant problems.

Microsoft - a dishonest, unethical, untrustworthy and incompetent company. Go Google!! Go Apple!!

I've dreamed of working at Microsoft for years but have never visited. I'm training in User Experience design. I used the makeup- face-something app station, the computer kept crashing and giving me a error message.... which caused me to move on quickly to the next display. Also, the paint station, the pens were not working on the screen at all, I even heard some employees trying it and saying, "This pen sucks!". The app was also boring, there were not many options to be creative, even as a sample. I didn't get a clear understanding of what you even use the app for. Microsoft,.... this is embarrassing.... in your own campus, your own computers are crashing? How many coders have you hired on campus? The company lacks a great user experience. The coder to designer ratio should be equal at least. The usability of a product is EXTREMELY important. We live in a generation where people are busy and impatient, no one will wait for your mistakes....

The Microsoft Visitor center is an excellent place to Take non-techies, and possibly even a date. You can play with all the latest Microsoft games and gadgets. Not really a tourist spot, but it is a nice place to take friends and family to get an understanding of the IT industry in general.

There is a large underground garage with a short walk to the visitor centre. The open air lot in front of the building gets busy quickly.

The centre showcases Microsoft products, both hardware and software. It's a fun place, ensure you have photo ID for entry.

We spent a good couple of hours reading the history of the company and playing with the equipment. It would nice if there was more equipment to use.

Also there is a large Microsoft Company Store in the building.
