Micky's Irish Pub Review

One of the must visit restaurants in Iowa City. There is not a bad dish on the menu. The food is fresh and cooked to perfection. They also have a very friendly bar and wait staff. They have years of experience and it shows.

Never going here again. Got food poisoning for their veggie burger and sweet potato fries. How hard is it to cook something that s precooked. Completely fake black bear burger, definitely not homemade. Awful!

Typical pub fare. They offer veggie based burgers though. Not great and not bad.

Micky's never disappoints. Their fish & chips, southwestern mac & cheese, & ahi tuna sandwich are all fantastic.

Great food specials and great drinks! The staff is usually friendly. It tends to get busy on Monday night's with their amazing burger special so the service can be kind of slow but still worth it! They serve their burgers almost rare so if you don't want it bloody, make sure to ask for it well done.

Restful setting, excellent food! The calm chowder is the absolute best.

Fine little pub in downtown Iowa City. 20 taps and a decent selection of regional brews. Food is solid and what you d expect. Brunch is excellent with a standard fare of eggs, omelettes and pancakes. The service is excellent and quick. Lots of TVs so you can watch the games when you are relaxing. A great finish to a football weekend.

Solid Irish bar. Shoutout to Wednesday bar trivia, the guy who runs it is awesome at it. Food is good, atmosphere is good, and the staff works well together.

Went there for appetizers in the afternoon before a night out had a great waitress and the vibe was mellow! Went back after a band at gabes for drinks and the bartender Max needs some training on how to be a nice person to people wanting to spend money! He rolled his eyes and even admitted he didn t know how to make a margarita which was a special! Just really rude and not friendly at all!

Came into the pub. Asked for what was fast. The special.. Premade and quick to plate... Not so much. With 20 minutes gone of my 45 in total... Still no food.... Not sure what the hold up is...I AM THE ONLY ONE EATING!!!!

But the guys drinking have had service to their table at least four times. I am sitting alone.... And five minutes into this review still NO FOOD!!!! Think I may be going hungry today

Went to Mickey's for first time in a year. Fish was bland, rice was overcooked, & fries were cold when delivered and the atmosphere was so loud, I couldn't hear the person across the table. Won't be hurrying back anytime soon. Waiter was nice though.

Amazing atmosphere. I really enjoy the food here, the great service, and the cozy patio during the summer.

Typical college town bar. Nothing special but has plenty of waiters.

Mickeys is a nice pub in a nice area. The food was very good and very American. Even the fish and chips was frozen Gortons fish. The service was very good and had a great atmosphere.

Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Very busy on a Saturday night but they handled all the drink and food orders. Bathroom was disgusting.

If I end up getting COVID-19, it will be from visiting this restaurant.

We called to order a meal to pick-up, and were told it would be ready in 15 minutes. We arrive at Mickey s 15 minutes later. While employees are wearing masks, none of the guests are and there is no social distancing enforced. On its own, that s fine. While I wouldn t choose to sit and eat in a restaurant in the current environment, legally they re not doing anything wrong.

So in and out, grab our food, no problem, right?

Wrong.

The problem is that we had to wait an additional 20 minutes once we were inside the restaurant (after first being ignored for 10 minutes and then told there was a delay in our order). So instead of being a safe, in and out trip, we had to stand around in a potentially dangerous environment waiting for our food. I regret not leaving sooner.

The food itself was fine, but not good enough to warrant the possible exposure to COVID-19.

In conclusion, if you re not worried or don t care about the pandemic, then this is a fine place to eat. However if you are high-risk (like myself) or someone who is trying to be even a little bit cautious, avoid this restaurant and DO NOT order takeout.

Food was great, ready when I asked for it, unlike somewhere else who put me on hold for five minutes and never came back to phone. Thanks for getting order right!!!

The music is way too loud. I took my date there for a bite to eat after a movie and we could not hear each over the music. Of course, when the music is loud everyone talks even louder. Very unpleasant atmosphere.

Lighting was dim, hard to see& read the menu,food was good.

Im always hunting for a good steak sandwich, but as simple as they are its really hard to find one worth your time. Mickeys steak sandwich is a solid A.

Classic place for me. I always went there in college. Iowa band shows up during gameday weekends and it's just a good time.

The burger I had was one if not the best burgers I have had definitely going back for the next Iowa/Wisconsin game

it has a great atmosphere and music...you can watch football games on Saturdays and Sundays as well as during the weekdays...food and drinks are good...I had a heineken beer and a delicious cheeseburger with French fries...good service and friendly staff...it is highly recommended

Micky's is a downtown Irish pub in Iowa City. Menue is mostly burgers, sandwiches and appetizers. Portions are large. Food was good. Atmosphere is loud and dark. Hard to read the menue. Prices are moderate

Almost everything is fried food ,they fill the orders with tons of French fries. Sorry but Irish just the door.

Micky's has great burgers and beer that were well priced. The atmosphere is inviting and easy to converse in, doing a good job of hitting that by Irish vibe. Only downside was waitress was slow to check out table two nights in a row.

The Irish Steak soup is a frozen bag of vegetables and ground beef. Oh and a hunk of mashed potatoes. It tasted like cafeteria food.

Pretty good chicken Parmesan sandwich drinks were good.

Sunday brunch was amazing!!! Cute quaint Irish pub! Service and atmosphere are both VERY good!

Although the wait was very long for cold food, the customer service was absolutely great. They took ownership of the problem and fixed it fully and quickly. We will be back.

Conglomerations make the world worth living in. Please get some beers on tap that aren't IPAs.

Free popcorn. Great starters and bar. Get the conglomeration sandwich.

They forgot the egg of our salads...which comes with. But our bartender was fantastic and very personable
