am a healthcare provider, and would NEVER recommend this facility. My mom is there for two days recovering from knee surgery and they are HORRIBLE, no meds are giving her on time they give her the medication 4 to 5 hours after she need them. She needed to ask for her lunch, then they bring her lunch cold. They leave her without pamper for hours what else is going to happen.

My mom spent ten days at Adventura Hospital and was recovering well from Conjective heart failure. All the Doctors agreed that her vital signs were greatly improved and she was transferred on May 5 to this facility, her condition immediately went downhill and she passed away at 7 am on Friday May 7, less then 48 hours after she was admitted. I happened to stop by at 1 am Friday morning to see how she was and from the hallway I heard her yelling for help, she was alone sitting on the edge of the bed saying she couldn't breath I immediately ordered the nurse to give her a full face oxygen mask and they gave her a tranquilizer and she dozed off, my immediate gut feeling was to get her out of there and to call 911 one of the nurses' talked me out of it. At 6:45 am the police called to tell me my mom passed away, 4 hours after I left her. Miami Jewish Home also called at 7 am to tell me my Mom was taken to Mt Sinia Emergency room which was incorrect it was North Shore Medical Center. They couldn't even get that straight. When I came to pickup her belongings her $2000 hearing aid and charger were missing. This place looks good but is not equipped to handle cardiac patients there were no doctors working the overnight shift and the staff is below average on cardiac care. My mom paid with her life. US News and World Reports ranked this facility 2 stars and below average on pulmonary care and life expectancy which I found out the hard way.

The night crew is sluggish and slow to respond to patients buzzing them for help. They act like it's a bother to them. Poor work ethic and lack of professionalism. No doctor on duty and 911 is called for emergency care. Maybe OK for recovery from broken leg but not from a serious medical condition.

Beautiful facility with beautiful landscaping and a thorough and caring Staff. The Staff seemed much more eager to do "goodness" and provide genuine care, then just "follow procedure"- Hats off to this team of caregivers.

Nurses hits residents for not wanting to take a sh...

Nurses hits residents for not wanting to take a shower! Do not use proper bathing skills nor materials. No good body mechanics, curse, yells, and screams at residents. They also force food in their mouths when refusing to eat. NEVER clean residents after moving bowels or eliminating waste. Residents have a lot of sores on body from not being turned every two hours. Basically being neglected. The food looks and smells disgusting. One of the residents there said when ask for food the nurses tell them that they can not get them any. They eat dinner entirely too early around 17:00 P.M or 18:00 P.M. Nurses shows their tattoos, wears acrylic and gel nails, inappropriate attire (tight scrubs), non natural hair colors (perhaps red and blue). Shall I elaborate, when they are suppose to be checking on patients they are either on Facebook or any other social media laughing in front of them. They do not use gloves to bathe patients. They do not give patients their own rights and respects which is in the book or chapter OBRA. They do not allow residents wait use the bathroom on their own all the time. Its either they have restraints on them or either being held on locked down. The residents body is always on the mattress instead of the sheet. The patients bed is always left raised with bed railings oh god their safety is put at risk.

Honestly.... the place can be quite deceptive. It looks nice and clean compared to a lot of nursing homes/ skilled rehab in the area but if you're not there with your relative they will not be receiving the best attention and care. The nurses take long to answer patient calls. My father had to somehow get himself into a wheelchair and stroll himself to the bathroom to relieve himself because nurses didn't respond. The bedside urinal is always full and whenever we visit him on a daily basis it was always family who would empty it out for him. The food.... is served without paying attention to the required strict diet prescribed. My father has high blood pressure and was put on a no salt/low sodium diet and low fat as well as low cholesterol. They still brought him an extremely salty fried fish sandwich with CHEESE! I had to call and immediately have them bring something else. Which even that took them a long time to fix and deliver. Overall.... if there's no other decent place amd this is the only place that's available... make sure you stay on top of these nurses. They will get away with subpar care. And also.... forgot to mention that the reason a nurse never came is because a patient elsewhere broke a bone and they were too busy dealing with that emergency. Well maybe if they weren't so neglectful that wouldn't have happened either.

This is a horrible place. The nursing staff are apathetic and needlessly rude to patients and family members. They ignore obvious medical problems and allow patients to cry out in pain and need for hours at a time. Don't place a loved one here. We made that mistake and my mother paid for it dearly. They are cruel and the administration doesn't care.

I have my mother passing away in this hospital and the way that her nurse Angel is talking to my family is very unprofessional. The way he says things is very hurtful. Working in a hospis hospital you should be more understanding.I regret picking this place for my mother spending her last day. Its definitely not what I read online. I would stay away from this place. Hope that no one has to deal with Angel cause if you do you are in for a surprise.

So far, my experience having my mother there has been a positive one; I like the professionalism and knowledge for the caregivers taking care of my mom. Better communication is needed between the rehabilitation team and the family members.

They, in conjunction with my sister, Edna Lustig Siris and The Dept. Of Children & Families are trying to torture to death my mother, Miriam Lustig, in order to stop me from visiting her to try to falsely prove I am an uncaring daughter in a huge government corruption scandal I am speaking out on.

My elderly mother had been placed here several times after being admitted to the hospital for her rehabilitations to get her strength back. The staff at the facility are all very pleasant and friendly. They always make me feel welcome and go above and beyond caring for my mother. They are Always in contact with me during her stay updating me on her Progress and even set up meetings in person with the different dept staff to keep me in the loop of mom's progress. The rooms are all clean and uniform with beautiful flat screen TVs, and large windows for my mom to look out of and very well kept. I have visited other facilities in Miami and would not even think twice about putting her anywhere else but Miami Jewish. The grounds are protected by a large security staff. The grounds are beautifully maintained. If my mom were to need rehab again I would not even think twice, Miami Jewish is my Top Choice!! No other facility in Miami even comes close to their standards. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

I was an employee at MJHS, and I didn't have a goo...

I was an employee at MJHS, and I didn't have a good experience. I was so excited to start as I always wanted to work for nursing homes. However, my first day of work wasn t great as I expected. I showed up at work around 0630. They were two nurses at the nursing station. I greeted them with a big smile and introduced myself. They didn't answer back. Instead, that nurse said: "Are you sure you are going to work on that unit? Why they hired you? ". I just ignored her as I was here for the residents not for her. However, I will never forget her as she kept telling me: Why they hired you? with that angry voice and hateful eyes. The day I met the manager, she acted like she wasn't aware that she had a new hired. She told me: "I didn't interviewed you? Who hired you? I am not short of staff. Now you are going to cause my staff to float everywhere". I didn t feel welcomed at all. I felt ashamed and hurt. She also scheduled me to work for Christmas and new year while some staff were off for both holidays. I was treated so unfairly. I didn't appreciate that at all. Therefore, as I have excellent background and had many options, I accepted a job offer from another place. I didn't want to end up with no job during my 3 months of probations. Furthermore, the nurse who was my preceptor tried to make me look bad in front of the staff at the nursing station every time I asked her questions about PCC when I started on my own. " I already told you once. I should not be repeating it for you!". No body can master a program in few days. It's by asking questions you learn. The other thing I didn t like was when I started doing vital signs, 5 minutes later, she started following me around and telling me:" I can t believe you re still doing vital signs! You are too slow". Really! No body can do 12 vital signs in 5 minutes. It wasn't about doing vital signs quickly. It was about making sure the residents were stable, comfortable and safe. Also, the same thing happened with my meds pass. Lady, passing meds is not a game. One day, I couldn t reach a doctor that I needed urgently for a resident. She had the ARNP phone number, and I asked her for it while she was sitting at the nursing station. She stood up and told me I ll give it to you after I m done passing meds . Are you kidding me? I didn't need it for personal reasons. Also, it only takes few seconds to give a phone number. The other nurse who was also at the station had the md cell # and refused to give it to me. Are you serious? I didn't need it for personal reasons. Those nurses on that unit were being selfish and were acting like I was here to take their job. Hello! I was there for the residents not for you ladies. I had to leave as I started to feel miserable over there. The only thing I don't regret was providing excellent care to the residents. I will be missing them so much. I love making differences in people lives. One of my recommendations to MJHS is to include the ARNP # in PCC.

Both my parents have been at MJHS in Miami for 2 months. Dad suffers from Alzheimer's and mom has suffered several strokes and also has dementia. My experience with everyone: admissions, nurses, CNAs, social worker, doctors, etc has been nothing but excellent. They are all caring and professional and do everything they can to ensure my parents maintain their quality of life and remain safe. I live outside of the country, which makes everything that more difficult. But, I know that I count on everyone always looking out for them. I call everyday and can always get a status on how they are doing. They also call me should anything be out of the ordinary or to keep me up to date with any changes. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who is considering rehab or long-term care for themselves or their elderly.

My mother is in the nursing home. The staff is very attentive to her needs. The place is so beautiful.....lots & lots of gardens, open spaces, smoking areas. It also has a beauty salon on the premises & I hope they re-open the store soon....truly feels like a community & not a nursing home. Glad I found this place!

WARNING! Stay away from this place. My mom is spending her last days in this hospice hospital and although some nurse care there are some that don t care about the patients. I understand there are restrictions due to Covid-19 but one thing is following the rules and another is changing the rules to give us (the family) a hard time. I ve been hearing a patient scream from pain for a long time and no one goes to give pain medication, it makes me wonder If they ve done that to my mom too while we aren t there since they have strict hours for visitation. They were quick to make my mom pick this place but once it was picked they did not follow through the main purpose which is to make the patients live their last days pain free and comfortable. They told my mom and us(her kids) their main priority is the patient and second the family and they showed us differently. The second day my mom was there she called me crying at night because the pain medication had worn off and no one was there to give her more meds, she begged me to move her to another hospital, it took my brother 26 minutes to get a hold of someone in there at nursing station so we can tell them to go to my mom s room. To work in a place like this you have to be understanding, attentive, caring and have a big heart but many of the staff here don t have any of these qualities. Please do not put your love ones in this place.

My dad is presently in their Skilled Nursing facility for Rehabilitation. This is by far the best Rehab place he has ever been to. Very clean, excellent staff, outstanding physical therapists and therapy, nurses, social worker and good care all around. Spacious one-person room.
My dad is very picky about the food so I can t say how good or bad it is because I haven t seen it but everything else is just great. I highly recommend it. Not in a great neighborhood but once you pass security you are in a very safe and clean place with excellent care. It is very hard finding a place that actually cares for the elderly and it is nice to see one that does.
