East Bay Municipal Utility District Review

We didn't have running water for six days. SIX DAYS. They ignored us for that long.

Terrible customer service. The supervisors are no better. Called at 4:20pm before they accepted their last call to get services turned back on & they hung up on me at 4:05 after they closed so I wouldn't be able to call back & now it will take an additional 2 days to get services restored.

EBMUD water tastes like melted snow. The best way to appreciate this water quality is to taste the water in other places! I appreciate the genuine privilege it is to enjoy such delicious water.

They have the worst online platform I've ever seen. Seriously, in 2020, how can your digital platform be such a mess? Why is it more difficult to pay my bill online than it was five years ago?

That being said they do have the best drinking water in the bay area.

Water stopped working at my house. Called to get the service back again. Gave them all my information and was told they'd have a guy out to turn it back on in the same day. Nobody came and now it's Friday and they are closed for some reason?? And they close on the weekends so I get 4 days without water.... Yay..

The fact that I've been drinking and bathing in EBMUD water for 20 years without having to think about it is a five star experience IMHO. It just works. And tastes better than most other municipal water.

Been going on the whole year now, I call to make a payment on my account the automated system says this is not a valid account number (even though it is) if im lucky enough to make it past there then I enter my debit card this is not a valid card number credit card this is not a valid card number. Then I call customer service and they tell me its my fault

EBMUD is parked in front of my house 4 big trucks. I have no water now. Perhaps a warning? Besides it is Sunday. What the hell?

The only water company supported by the county will rob your wallet like Five time faster than its in LA. The customer service stinks with employee ego and prejudice. Its apparent every Bayer s nightmare worst than pg&e. Highly NOT recommend!

3x they have come out to determine severity of underground leaks coming up thru pavement. 1st time repaired within 2 weeks. 2nd time - weeks(!) Then there was the time they had the sidewalk torn up for months. I get priorities and funding, but still ---

Terrible customer service. All I wanted to do was add my name to the account for the house I rent so I would start getting the invoices instead of my roommate. They had me create a new account under my name and then billed me a setup fee. Called several times and eventually got a hold of the manager who also told me nothing could be done about it. So we are basically paying a setup fee for changing who receives the invoices...

Driver using vehicle #0114 ,he was speeding and cutting other vehicles putting people in danger this happened on 3-10-20 around 3:35pm on highway 4 in Stockton

Terrible website design, user interface & navigation. Lazy work shows its ugly head yet again.

The drivers for EBMUD are terrible. THREE times on my commute to school this afternoon i was stuck behind different EBMUD vehicles in THREE different cities. The drivers were in the fast lane at 10-15mph under the limit and parallel driving with slow lane traffic

EMBUD is a total joke, There Plumber III (Jeffrey Bullers 12.66) aka Veteran who is hooked on Meth and Weed hanging out with drug dealers and Norteno gang members (Benzino Malcom 3.23.1983) who sell him the Meth and use his apartment as the dope house . The reason EBMUD hasn't put it together is because Mr.Bullers cheats on his required drug tests and has for years. I guess it pays to flirt with the ugly low self esteem lab techs who let him use his friends urine who is a veteran plumber. Jeffrey makes sure get to the urine early in the morning before everyone else get's to work.

These guys are incredibly incompetent. Noone knows what they are doing here. We pay to have water and then shut your water off and then are flabbergasted when that they messed up... this has happened 3 times...

I've always received excellent customer service with emus.

I called with questions about my service, and from the beginning, Alex, he was very rude. And I was very polite throughout the whole conversation. I thought my kindness would kill his anger, but no. I've never dealt with someone so rude in my life. I wish there was something other than leaving a bad review that I could do. This guy really ruined my mood and my day. I was fine before the call. Now I feel like going down there and giving him a piece of my mind. I did nothing to deserve that treatment. Thanks ebmud for the bad quality customer service.

City services will never be perfect, but their customer service staff over the phone have been polite and helpful both times I have called. Switching account holders for my apartment took about 15 minutes.

Worst customer service ever! I don t why it make it so difficult for there new customer to open act. Waited on the phone for 20 mins, nothing is done. The company really need to train there stuffs. What a joke!

The new service application is extremely complicated for ordinary citizen. The fee is also skyrocketing to install a new water meter.

This place is run by a bunch low class IDIOTS that need to retire immediately!!! Especially that lame, useless Customer Service Dept. Trained Monkeys could do a better job!!! Oh, the website SUCKS!!!

Turn on the water this morning no water, no coffee no shower, no water for the dogs ,no water to even brush my teeth:((((((((((((((

First time contacting their customer service to report low water pressure throughout my entire neighborhood. I was blown off and pushed to a department that MAY be in contact with me. If I could leave negative stars, I would. Worst experience I have had with a utilities company by far.

I have moved out of EBMUD's area, but during the 50 years I lived in Lafayette there was never any problems. The few times I've contacted them the issue was handled in a professional manner and in a timely manner.
I now realize how lucky I was to have EBMUD because my current supplier is more expensive and not run as well.

EBMUD has perhaps the worst website around, certainly the worst of the main public utilities, as far as ease of paying one's bill online is concerned. I have been using computers for more than 30 years, and still cannot pay a bill through their web site. It is also true that their hours of manning their phones demonstrate that they don't really care to make contacting them easy and convenient. (I suppose I should dig a well.)
