Excellent earthy salsa and quality food at reasonable prices.
Excellent earthy salsa and quality food at reasonable prices.
Serivive was great. Tortilla soup was terrible. Overpriced as well.
Fantastic place. Casual, with great food and service.
Best Mexican restaurant around. Can't go wrong here!
Wow! I was not expecting it to be this good! Amazing tasting food and very comfortable atmosphere.
They have consistently screwed their college employees by writing bad checks!! This is heinous as there a good kids working there who have yet to be paid for their work. What an embarrassment!
Average food, but the salsa is chipotle flavored, so just a bit better than normal.
Taco Cabana is tons better than this overpriced place. Not happy with the food or how we had to figure out what to order while holding up the line. I felt like I was at Pei Wei! :( Def not returning....
They have vegetarian food, just not on the menu. It was alright.
Bred and born Texan, I know Mexican food. I ve had it all over the world. The wife suggested Mi Chula s on January 26, 2012. For one thing, I had the best sour cream chicken enchilada I have ever had. Sat down immediately. The chips were perfect. Our waiter seemed to be handling too many tables, but he was always right there to get anything we needed, no waiting. Four of us got four different things and everyone agreed that it was probably the best Mexican food eaten in years. I think that, by far, it was the best. All of the waiters seemed to be doing good, but ask for Daniel for your waiter.
get ready for a headache and pull out those reading glasses when reading the menu. it's displayed on a screen, and has entirely too much jpg... except the drink menu, that thing is crystal clear (sigh). hopefully the get that fixed soon.
you pay in advanced and then take your seat to display a number placard, chips an salsa are served. the food here is top notch. I've sampled friends choices, and while quite good, I've only ever ordered one item. the Chicken Guisada is to die for and I can't recommend it enough.
Amazing.
Best. Guisada. Ever.
Everything is very fresh and great staff/service.
Awesome food and great service. Our go to restaurant
Food was good but it is way too pricey for what you get and the service is lousy and they nickel and dime you for even a couple extra tortillas for my fajitas they had to charge me! Very disappointed with the service they were very rude. I was still eating and had been here for only 30 minutes and in the next 5 minutes they kept asking me if I was done and could take my plate while I was eating they did this at least 5 times and three times it was the same guy! Very rude
Never a bad meal here. ..we call ahead for Chile Relleno. ...best in Texas. ....my first choice when my wife let's me pick :)
Decided to try this place recently after reading the good reviews on here. It was really disappointing for me, won't be going back. First of all, you don't get to sit down and look over a menu at this place. The menu is posted up on a screen by the register, so you have to stand there and try and figure out what you want. I personally didn't like this, but whatever. They make you pay up-front, which I thought was unusual. Kinda high for two people but I expected the food was going to be really good. We had the chips & salsa to start. The salsa was extremely runny, practically straight liquid. It was too sweet and hard to eat being so runny it won't stay on the chip. Our rice was dry, my husbands beef for his fajitas was undercooked. The worst for me was my brisket tacos. There was literally a pool of grease in the bottom of the tacos. Grease just poured out of them, and I squeezed them and more grease flooded out. It grossed me out, I couldn't eat it. Let a server know we were unhappy and he just made excuses for the grease, didn't offer to remake or anything. We have no interest in returning.
I came to Mi Chula's today, here in the heart of Southlake, with my girlfriend for an authentic Mexican dining experience. For our first experience, I would say it was mediocre at best. The server/cashier was not informative. We were given plastic buffet style glasses. Silverware wrapped in paper towel. The only thing that saves this place from a one star is the food. I had mahi mahi fish tacos and my girlfriend had beef fajitas. Both meals were delicious and left us with satisfied stomachs!
My only recommendation would be just order to go. Just not a great dining experience.
Think of a Pei Wei that serves Mexican. If that's your scene, this is your place.
A friend of mine brought me to Mi Chula's while I was in town and the food was incredible. I tried two tacos, the pork, and brisket. Both had perfect combination of ingredients. I haven't had too much mexican outside of this, but I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a fairly inexpensive dinner out.
2nd time back. Sourcream enchiladas is where it's at. Do it! Eat there!
First time to eat here, and it was delicious! The salsa that came with the chips was warm and had a smoky flavor, delicious.
For my meal I had the Asada Steak City Taco which was so tender and flavorful that you could cut it with a fork. I had the fixings put on the side (onions and sauces) and was glad for it because both sauces (green and red) were too spicy for my liking. I instead put the delicious queso and beef on top along with the black beans which came with the meal. This place is quite expensive ($6 for a small cup of queso w/beef), but worth it. The only thing I didn't like about it was the tea offerings which were black tea and mango tea. I just wanted the regular sweet tea you find in other restaurants.
amazing service (+ always super friendly and helpful), amaaaazing food. this is easily my new favourite place, only downside is the price tags could come down a bit (for what you get) imo
Pretty decent food here - I wish they kept the crab stuffed shrimp on the menu every day, but its a rotating special. Kids like the queso, and I get the beef guisada if the shrimp isn't available. Salsa is good (although warm which Im not a huge fan of), and tortillas and chips are nice and fresh.
My only issue is the addition of a tip line on the pay up front ticket. We eat out all the time, and tipping is for servers making $2.13 who take your order, refill drinks, etc. They didn't used to have this (Pei Wei and others don't, and they also have higher priced food like Mi Chulas). What am I supposed to tip for here at the beginning of my visit - the length of time I stand in line waiting to order? If I want another beer or I want dessert, I have to get back in line and wait or order it at the start. They also make it uncomfortable by eyeballing you as you are forced to decide how much to tip for self service dining - certainly not the standard 20% real servers deserve, right? I did that once, and they messed up my order, having to redo one plate as the others ate; next time I tipped nothing and the food was great. Is in between an insult? I don't know. Not liking to be put in that position, I tend to avoid this place altogether...
I was a little hesitant to try due to the location but super glad I did. The food was filled with so much flavor. Great service and would definitely recommend to friends. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is price but overall a great spot for tex-mex food. Don't forget to order a dessert.
Great margaritas and fajitas. Try the prickly pear margarita
We are regulars. The staff is great, they will learn your names and be friendly with time. The food is great and they are very accommodating for allergies.
Food mite be good. But owner is worthless. We were told, and have asked if we could have dogs on there patio. Today we had our pit bull. Owner came out and told we couldn't bring dogs out. Made up a BS story as to way. Only real reason is because he does not like pit bulls. We won't be going back.
Great Mexican food! You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. They also make their own tortillas and have warm roasted salsa and chips. You can sit inside or on their patio. Haven't had a bad meal here!
Love this place it's fast and they have great churros!
Food is the best! No complaints at all. Consistent, clean & everyone is courteous!
Good beans and rice. Great atmosphere very clean and the people are so nice and friendly.
The tacos were fine. There are just better options out there.
The staff is friendly and helpful and have been for years. Recently I've been disappointed with their changes to their Brisket meat. The Brisket are not as good as they were. Everything else is great.
Staff has been friendly to my family and I for 5 or so years. It's usually busy but it's a comfortable environment. Food is good, not my favorite but it's tasty. 5 stars because although it isn't my favorite, it is my families.
It's ok food, high prices though which caused the 3 stars instead of the 4. Price not = quality
Excellent food. My family and I have eaten here for several years until I moved out of DFW. I make it a point to visit every time I'm in town!
