Mesa Police Department Review

Thank you to Officer Cook for assisting me parking our motorhome this am at Kennys Speed Shop... Sept 19, 2019..Franz Halamicek

I called this afternoon because I found a syringe on my balcony and after asking the other residents if they may have dropped it and their answer was no, my landlord wanted me to call. Upon talking to the dispatcher she informed me that it isn t something the police would come out and take possession of or dispose of it correctly. She further advised me to go on their web page and report property found. When I attempted to do this (with her in the phone) I wasn t able to do it because that option didn t exist. Great job Mesa PD. Keep serving the public that beat fits you and not the community.

****within 10 minutes of writing this review a police officer knocked on my door to pick it up. I told the officer I was informed that they won t do this. His reply was I have no problem disposing if it .

They express that they want to hire those with criminal justice education specifically.....yet they don t follow through with it.

Terrible experience when asking for help. Called after a disagreement with a fellow male resident at my apartment complex when the two residents yelled at us and the male kept walking up to me and then walked up to my mother holding my 5 month old daughter. I was given a hard time about filing a report and felt like they didn t want to file my report at first, had to talk to the Sergeant supervisor to make sure a report could be filed. Then was given sexist remarks about how I am emotional from postpartum and had to listen to the male Sergeant tell me how my body works. Despite my wearing scrubs and explaining that I work in the medical field. I felt my fear was belittled, a real fear of this male resident threatening us and knowing where we live and knowing our vehicle. Needless to say they repeatedly told us there was no crime committed and that my mother was not a valid witness. They didn t even interview her until I asked them to, for the report. They told me that most people film their incidences for evidence, so my advice is to film as much as possible next time-because they prefer a tears as evidence. They chose the tears of the other resident as better evidence of the argument and decided nothing could be done. I do not feel safe at all in this community after this incident and feel that I cannot call Mesa police for help anymore, but after reading similar reviews perhaps it is their precinct that is the problem.

ABSOLUTELY THE MOST RUDE AND DOWN RIGHT DISRESPECTFUL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH THE POLICE.
I couldn t be more repulsed to know that police officers as such the ones I dealt with last night, not only live and breath but do so in our great valley. I will do everything in my power to make sure these officers are fired. There is no way possible they should wear a badge and be conducting such line of work. Absolutely NO WAY. I was so calm and respectful and both the officers that showed up we re just hateful and nasty by nature. I have been pulled over illegally and also illegally searched before by Tempe Police and all charges were acquitted because of it. Every single thing about what happened to me last night did not feel right.
OUR POLICE ARE PUBLIC SERVANTS AKA SERVE THE PUBLIC AKA HELP BUILD UP THE COMMUNITY AND BE A HELPING HAND TO YOUR COMMUNITY. THE POLICE SHOULD BE TRAINED PROFFESSIONALS THAT WE RELY ON AND TRUST. THEY ARE THE LAST PEOPLE A NON CRIMINAL, RESPECTFUL CITIZEN SHOULD BE WEARY OF COMING INTO CONTACT WITH.

One officer that was called by the original acting officer I did not get his information but he was just as bad as the arresting officer if not worse.
OFFICER ESCOBINO SHOULD BE STRIPPED OF HIS BADGE AND POSSIBLY NEED COUNSELING. HE IS A DISGRACE TO THE POLICE FORCE AND THE ENTIRE DEPARTMENT SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO HAVE HIM WORKING ON THE LINE OF DUTY.

I've been pulled over and removed from my vehicle multiple times, then harassed by the officer until the cop gets a better call and I'm told to leave without being charged with anything, do you people only hire power hungry psychopaths or does this job just attract that?

Mesa pd is the most unprofessional police department in AZ never trust mess officers especially if your a women at night ! If I could give less than one star I would

Want to file a hit and run but don t own a Porsche or a Ferrari? Don t worry, Mesa pd non emergency number would gladly review your claim after 72 hours, then decide whether or not to place a case number on it. Then once they do they do a terrible excuse of an investigation and turns out the stores cameras only hold footage for... you guessed it... 72 hours. Thanks for nothing Mesa pd. No wonder you re considered one of the worse police forces in the us.

Trying to claim my property. Case closed . informed to call arresting officer . no answer . then the supervisor.then after then the chain in command. He finally calls back tells me to file disposition at the superior court. Go there ,there clue less . find a disposition case closed online print it . take it to evidence. He tells me i need to call me arresting officer. ... I tell him i callled him about month ago . im past that . goes back talks with his superior and informs me all i need is for one of the police deputys to call him back and give him the go ahead . okay called alll the officers the following day ... Nobody answered so please help

Like to argue jurisdiction to the point people get hurt should just show up and figure that out later not let people do whatever because that's not the spot I work in. This is the third time vie had to repost this they keep having it removed. Guess the truth is out of their jurisdiction too.

These guys will leave you in danger and help you lose faith in justice. Shame.

3 Police Brutality cases in one year. Are you kidding me?

I have been arrested one time in my whole life. Officer Williams badge # 17497 did arrest me in January of 2015. I have to say that he was one of the nicest officers I've ever met. When he got me to the police department, the other officers there were extremely nice as well. I was very scared and he knew I was. He was so kind to me. He even brought me a sandwich and told me to be sure and eat it because I was being transferred to 4th Ave in Phoenix and who knows when I would eat again. I can't speak highly enough about these officers. Thank you Officer Williams for all of your kindness.

Typical tyrannical LEO establishment that's run by the corrupt government.

Horrific police department that should be investigated for their violence. Rather than protecting, it seems as though they use their positions to excuse their violent behavior and abuse their power. A civilian should not have to live in terror due to the social contract that we are given at birth but yet this police department created false reports to justify their abuse. It is SICKENING.

I came to the Phoenix area to see my sons for the weekend of March 15 and 16 2019. I was being dropped off at my hotel after eating out with my two sons. We had two very disrespectful Mesa police officers start questioning us why we were at the hotel. And using terms like "home boy" and when I called him out on it. He stayed "I don't know you". So disrespecting someone who is paying to come to your city and acting like it was perfectly normal. Well I will avoid Mesa and hope I never require Mesa police services.

No wonder people have no respect for these "cops," as they are unprofessional and act like predators . They love to write frivolous tickets and pull people over for riding bicycles on the wrong side of the street. When trying to have a civil conversation with them, they become confrontational. These "cops" are the worst of the worst.

Was arrested for resisting arrest and assaulted by 3 Police officers, but never told I was under arrest which is a felony.

A great police department to work with. We have spoken with them at least a couple times a month for several years now, and they've always been quick to respond and easy to work with. Highly recommended.

My experiences with them have been great. Professional and police officers from what I ve seen.

Biggest joke. Someone hit my truck I got license and seen it and it was on video.. but, since damage wasn't bad enough they don't do Jack.. fart in the wrong direction and they are all over you... Pos.. last time I call them, I'll handle it myself...

Don't deserve to be American this department is more evil then New York police

Called the police about a prowler. The cops came out and made me crawl around on the ground until I cried and begged for my life. Then, they pumped five rounds in me.

Mesa police, I'm not saying all, but from what I have seen they use to much authority instead of trying to communicate. Seven cops beating on one person that is already handcuffed. That is ridiculous. Just like the one shot this morning. He didn't shot at the cops he was running. It's like they have a gun just to shoot at anyone. Shooting people in the back. Wow that should make you mesa police proud.. this happens to much in mesa I would say.

Fire Flanigan. From what we can tell she's absolutely worthless, completely unprofessional. I mean not a surprise, coming from your department and what not. Disgrace to our country and the state.

They dont like to comply with Public Records laws... They think they are above them.

Very nice and pleasant, was looking for a street and passed same cop like three times before he pulled me over. of course asked what I was doing. I kept my seat belt secure and hands where could be seen and followed instructions ( that is not done most of these cases I read). If your kid doesn't listen to you when you tell them what do you do? same things the cops do. you punish them. lived here long enough you know the law. Time to wake up. don't like them vote the mayor out and demand new cops. But you must listen.

Okay first off I want to say this, in 1995 the Mesa Police helped me a great deal they help me with my ex was abusive when I was pregnant they did everything in the power keep him off the street. I've also ran into some police that were not good, but let me say this. Good and they were bad just like there are with civilians and I also have witnessed a lot people antagonizing the police also. Just like I have been antagonized by the police for no reason, you cannot put the Whole Group down because of some people that is profiling if you're going to profile in the police and they need the profile on everybody else. If you don't like the cops and don't call them. because I don't see anybody who is done with the police out there risking their lives to people that they don't know. I am not saying that there are not bad cops because there are I'm originally from Chicago so trust me I know. They are going into situations that they don't know what's going on they have been ambushed to look at it from their side to.

This is a note of gratitude. My bipolar son lives in Mesa, and I live 375 miles away. My son recently experienced a deep depression and stopped all communication with family. I called Mesa Police Department. Shay received the call with compassion and professionalism, and offered a wellness check. Officer Bailey made a visit to my son where he lives, and then called me. Both of these responders performed with exemplary kindness The residents of Mesa are fortunate to have these folks in service. I cannot say amor hearfelt "Thank You".

They saved my life. Literally. They are Humans just like all of us. Mesa PD is one of the best law enforcement agencies in Arizona. Honesty goes far with Mesa Officers. I can't think of any other departments in Arizona that are Great to the citizens they serve. Thank you Mesa PD. ( I almost died by accidental overdose and a suicide attempt my family member had, called and kept every word that SGT did). I still can't thank Mesa's finest enough.

Had a reason for the Mesa Police Department to come to home home and pick up some items I found cleaning out a closet....the young officer that came to my home was pleasant, polite, friendly to the children in the home and I appreciate the way he treated all of is. Every time I have had to deal with them they have been respectful and polite....Thanks for all you do guys!!!!

Just read that brailsford was rehired to get his pension . Absolutely f*cking disgusting. What kind of police department is this? Gets away for murder and secondly gets paid?? Morale of the story just murder and you will be set for life.

Shame on Mesa PD! My husband and I were followed by a guy flinging homophobic slurs, stalked us and then the officer covered it up! And used intimidation to silence us. The officer said it was the guys right to do that and his freedom of speech. This a dangerous country we live in, when you can t even rely on law enforcement for assistance and support. We asked for his name and badge number. He refused saying it s not required by law. This was reported to the Sargent but guess what, she just made up excuses and told us to let it go!

Has a problem with intimating and murdering innocent people. I would not recommend this institution to anyone who values safety, liberty or the right to life. I would however recommend that people legally purchase a firearm and protect themselves from criminals and dirty cops alike. Bring officer Charles Langley up on charges and show the public that you value justice.

transferred me to another jail without my cell phone, bus pass, and debit card. When I got let out had to walk back to Mesa from Phx for a 4 Year old possession and paraphernalia pot charge. Also when I went to ask an officer honestly how he expected me to get home without those when no one would answer a collect call, he cut me off after I said honestly and said I know you're lying because you're in jail and you said honestly. I'm not just writing a poor review because I'm getting charged and arrested and I'm upset. I'm writing a poor review because of the total disregard for an individuals well being throughout the process. Also the holding cells in the mesa precinct have no beds or mats. You have to sit or lie down on a wooden bench for (in my case) 6 hours before I was transferred. Then on top of all of this, I was picked up on thursday at 11:30ish for the 4 Year old charges I was given released on saturday at 1-2AM (from PHX) and I was told I can't get my phone, debit card, and bus pass back til tuesday. Lastly, the officers in my 6 hours at their facility made jokes at my expense 3 different times. Highly unprofessional and definitely not a protect and serve attitude.

I was hit by a drunk driver on a saturday night, and the police would not come out to test the guy and take a report. At first they said that maybe they could come by in an hour or so, but after an hour and a half the pretty much told us they wouldn't come out. Now my car is wrecked and my children are hurt and the drunk driver got off without a hitch.

To the guy complaining about his school zone ticket.... that's what those flashing yellow lights mean.... and the ten signs... maybe if you got off your phone you would have noticed... I know its tragic what happened In that hotel that night, but that was an isolated incidence. In my experience they really try to be fair and forgiving... I am a business and home owner here in Mesa, so sometimes they are too forgiving, but I get they don't want to repeat the same mistakes. They are on the side of the citizens that aren't troubled, I truly believe. They dont seem to be in the business off harassment - move to north Texas where I'm from an compare. Give these guys some credit, they deal with true madness everyday.

Didn't help the people in need. Called about a noise complaint at 130-2am. Loud bass through walls, people on their porch laughing and hearing them play video games, couldn't sleep. Officer shows up and stands very far from their unit (their upstairs) and he asks if they've heard any loud noise and they say no and he walks away.... 10 second interaction. He was like over 100 feet from the building and couldn't hear the music from there I assure. Didn't bother calling again.

The police officer helped me find who broke into my house. Very effcient.

I have always heard that the police will not respond to incidents that happen in parking lots so I hesitated to call. since I didn't know who hit my car, I called Mesa Police Department non emergency and was told they would send someone out as soon as they could. Approximately an hour and a half later (remember this WAS NOT an emergency) they came.
I forgot to ask for the officers name but he was very polite, respectful and explained what he could do. Luckily, the person who hit my car had already been found and we exchanged information. But it was nice to be reassured I did the right thing. (I have never had a situation like this before.)
Police are always getting a bad rap but people forget their job is tough enough with out the critics.

Don t care what your story is. Treat you like your the criminal. This department should be abolished and changed over to another jurisdiction because obviously they aren t doing anything right.

Every month I call and request Mesa PD to come out and run traffic in my neighborhood. I get the same response every time I call. Officer on the phone - Sir I can put this request for you but just be mindful that if we have any life threatening calls in the area we will address that first. Me - completely understandable. So I have been doing this every month for almost one year now. I have a three year old and a one year old. We have a lot of children that play outside here in the neighborhood. My neighbors and I have done everything we can do legally... so after the 6 month mark of nobody showing up to help us out... I tapped into my inner audio engineering mindset and decided to run digital, analog, trunked and conventional radio signals on my scanner during the two hour window of time they allow me to request. Yes there have been life threatening calls but my algorithm shows 60% free time during the hours I have requested to come patrol. Let s see what happens.

My little sister is 3 months pregnant . And I know it's cold in side mesa jail or any jail . And I asked if I could drop her sweater off . And they told me no . And he didnt even have a reason .they have no consideration for any body . Just because someone is arrested doesn't mean officers can just treat them like they are nothing . Cause they are humans just like them .

Yesterday a Mesa police officer jump-started my car when I was stranded in the heat. Thank you very much, Mesa Police Department.

Just boycott mesa, PERIOD!!! No shows, sports, travel, and ALL tax dollars. If you don't drive in or thru mesa then they can't TAKE your money thru tickets or sales tax. Hurt them in the wallet, it's worst than a protest!

I reported theft and suspicious activity "pre-theft". I appreciate the people who helped me. I'm thankful for our mesa police department: dispatch, officers, etc all working together in unison. Thank you MPD you are appreciated.

I have law enforcement training. Having watched the body cam footage of Daniel Shaver s death, I can t help but feel sick to my stomach. #1 There was no use of force continuum at work here. #2 Anyone who saw this footage and thinks he was reaching for a gun when he was just pulling up loosefitting shorts is in idiot. #3 What s up with Simon says? I was trained to apprehend by approach and seize. Not a game of Simon says. This was not a sobriety test. I have signed the petition to have Brailsford brought to justice. He wanted to kill someone that night .

I will NOT be getting arrested by these people again. If I want to get arrested I'll go to Gilbert where they're nice.

Called non emergency line asked, if there was anything I can do about my particular situation, non emergency dispatch said I could do something then the officer said I there was nothing I could do and wouldn't even take down there information.

Incompetent, lack of training, and an absolute disgrace to our country.

Thank you for beating Robert Johnson for absolutely no reason at all. Also thank you for beating Jose Conde, laughing and mocking him. Police Chief Ramon Batista condones this behavior and encourages it in his department. Sad state of being for transparency in our American Police Force.

I guess One Star is needed to write this review... that being said after what happened today I hope my Son is safe until get him Monday. As far as the rude attitude officer God Bless you. Evil don t last long. If I was given a choice to call 911 for help i will rather suffer to death then calling them. Police department should provide proper civilian communication skills to some of their Officer.

Great job shooting an unarmed civilian in a hotel room. Fine upstanding young officer with sleeve tattoos shot that poor man to death. You should be ashamed of yourselves for getting away with murder. That officer is a thug.

Mesa Police are so forceful and use their badge as a power trip, shame, shame

They seem to murder and assault at will. No repercussion.

We had someone kick down our shed door 2am last night and took a few junk items with no value. I called Mesa police department and explained the situation.
With in minutes 2 police officers arrived and secured my home. we do not live in the best city but my family and I will sleep better knowing we have professional officers ready to protect us when we need them most! Thank you Mesa Police Department

Apparently this department Is attempting to pile on the most bodies before the sheriff's department takes over....we need to get the funding cut from this department if there not willing to change then they can be removed.
