Mercure Centro Hotel Review

Huge room, very clean. Friendly staff and the restaurant was divine .

Had a great stay here, the rooms were excellent, and the staff really friendly and happy to assist if we had any troubles

Stayed 22nd to 24th August 2016: Excellent meals at the restaurant; the fish special on my first night was delicious but looking over at the beef cheek on the next table, I developed food envy. I ordered it the next night and was equally delighted with the choice. Well done chef!
Room was comfortable and the front desk service was friendly and helpful.
Will return at the earliest opportunity!

Ok room, but a bit far from the beach. That being said, you can have a pretty good view on the city and the surrounding mountains.

I was very disappointed in the room. When booking I was after a suite for 3 adults. When making the booking, I checked with the booking and the picture I was looking at. I was happy with my booking.......UNTIL I got there . The suite was just a room. Very disappointing I paid for a suite and got a room. When asking the attendant, can I have a suite, and showing him the picture ...his reply...The Mecure is not responsible for the pictures on the internet. There was NO compensation or reimbursement for a room not a suite. You would get better monies worth at another hotel.
I will not be using the Mecure Metro @ Port Macquarie again

Who designed the bathroom like this?! The glass shower door smashes at full speed on bathroom door metal door handle or on metal shower head. They must be making good money on shower door replacements.

Rooms themselves are bit old and show wear. Some rust and mould in bathroom.

One room had extremely overbearing smell of cleaning product. Like someone died and decomposed and they had to cover the smell with strongest possible cleaning product.

As others mentioned, there s only one elevator and there s a COVID rule that you re not supposed to ride if someone else is already in it. We spent 20 some minutes looking at opening doors with people inside, we wait for the next one, etc. there s no stairway we could find. So allow up to half an hour if you plan to get out of hotel.

I Don't usually go to the effort of reviewing but this place deserves it. Only down fall was low water pressure in the shower.

Great location, right in the middle of the town, close to restaurants, shopping and seaside. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are clean but a bit small. Parkings $10/night. For breakfast you have a choice of hot or cold (full buffet). The full buffet (hot) is $25/adult and doesn't have a lot of variety. It was very tasteless and cooked without love! Didn't try the bar. Outdoor swimming pool not heated but clean and kids loved it.

We go ot Mercure regularly for functions and the food and service is fantastic! Thanks Guys :)

These guys are great for events and functions. I have been at a weekly BNI business group meeting for the last 18 months at the Mercure. Service and hospitality has been awesome. Great staff and food every time. They have been very accommodating and friendly throughout. Thank you.

Service and Room Quality were Amazing!
There are only two reasons why it wasn't a 5/5. The food took much to long to come to our table when we ordered breakfast. We were the only people at breakfast and the food took 30-35 minutes. The self-serve coffee machine was very complicated and ran out of milk. In my opinion, a server/instructions should be placed near the coffee machine to explain how to use it. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and I hope to come again in the future.

Great hotel clean fresh beautiful friendly people enjoyed our stay, we will be returning for sure.

Stayed on Saturday night, room was excellent nice comfy bed and pillows with the added bonus of a balcony. Had breakfast good range of choice but would if like a fried or poached egg, not a big fan of scrambled egg. Staff were beautiful and nothing was too much trouble, would stay there again

The service was super good. Easy check in and late check out request. Very central and still nice and quiet. Nice decor and clean. The bed I rate 1/5 though. It has a hump is hard and the pillows were bad. My partner didn't complain but my back did. Other then that 5 stars :)

Friendly and welcoming staff - I have attended many events at the Mercure, both social and professional and the team always look after you. The function rooms are always well-presented and nothing is ever a problem if you need any changes. The food in the restaurant is always yum and presented beautifully

Very clean, sanitizers everywhere, reminders for social distancing and sanitizing in multiple places. Clean rooms, lovely staff. Carefully organised buffet breakfast so that high contact items are avoided.

We are a member here and we came for breakfast and it was really disappointing to see no vegetarian or vegan options?? Makes it hard for everyone to come and enjoy. I wasn't able to eat anything but some fruit

We stayed in a premium queen bedroom. Very clean, neat and good quality rooms. Suitable for family of 4. Lots of in-room freebies and extra pillows and blankets. In town centre and closer to few attractions.

Nice room and a good restaurant. Convenient location. Very nice staff. Door was very hard to open as was the sliding glass door. Good for a workout. One lift is not adequate for that size hotel. A good place overall

This place... Great room, friendly staff, not a 10 minute walk from anywhere in town. Pool area was great, not too busy. I would and will definately stay again.

The hotel as such is conveniently located right in the heart of the city. Staff were friendly, but service could be improved. The rooms especially the bathrooms are badly in need of renovation.

Well placed in middle of town close to shops, short walk to river! Great venue, sanatising & social. distancing at its best! Felt very safe from Covid infections! Staff very pleasant & helpful. Food at restaurant very nice, big servings at breakfast! Parking underneath at small cost. Plenty of things to do close by.

Staff helpful to fix mistakes rooms were adequate a few broken light bulbs in room 301 but overall not tragic

I had a pleasant stay at Mercure Centro. The room is new and spacious. It is in the town centre and close to everything, i.e. food. Will stay here again

Nice room could do with an update. Internet was very slow. No safe in room . Room was fairly clean. Staff were polite. Parking was nice . Shower door always was in he wrong position and water leaked out all over the bathroom

A modern spacious hotel located in the CBD area of town. Underground parking is available. The restaurant and bar (small) areas are very pleasant and the food is well prepared and well presented.

Someone had smoked in my room previously, the smell was still in the room. The bed was comfortable and the shower adequate. The breakfast is not amazing but okay. Parking is easy.

Breakfast was a little sparse on our arrival no mushrooms or tomatoes. Wasnt checked whilst we were there. We could have asked but didnt bother. Other supplies were adequate. Juices almost empty.

room 401 - right next to the elevator, very noisy. Also - has very unpleasant odour. I have stayed here before in much nicer rooms - I am very disappointed in this room - what with the noise and the smell :(

Worst place possible to be at in Port Macquarie. Would recommend to anyone to stay anywhere else possible. Management of this disgraceful establishment is the reason I am leaving this review. Shame on you

My Parents stayed here for their 35th Wedding Anniversary, loved it. Great service, friendly staff, and it's so close to everything they didn't need to go far.
I will be staying here the next chance I get.
All they talk about is the lady on the front desk named Sue, must be a credit to the property.

Central to stay but the view is a bit average. Cant be helped if you want a full central location for everything. Staff are sensational! Awesome service.

Was a great place to stay for the weekend. Pretty close to anything you could need, room was great, service was great. They were very accommodating with a late checkout as I was in town for the Port Macquarie Run Festival

Attended a Wedding and this was followed by a reception at the Mercure. Outstanding service, amazing views and located a short cab ride home from the remainder of Port.

Immaculate comfortable room in perfect condition. The whole property presents as tidy and fastidiously well-run. First class staff. Excellent dining room for dinner and breakfast. Ample parking underneath premises. Located right in the CBD of Port Macquarie. Scores 10 out of 10 for me !

First time staying at a hotel with my newborn and the staff were lovely, had a little mess on the bed and the staff were quick to replace. Room was exceptionally clean and the buffet was accommodating with the newborn as well. I will be looking to stay with mercure again in the future.

Very consistent, I have stayed here over 5 times and always good room, great food and close to supermarkets, coffee shops and restaurants.

Function room labs a lot to be desired. The room is so dark and dingy they have several lamps on extension cords to add some light

We just had 3 nights at the Mecure Port Macquarie and LOVED it! The room was clean and fresh from the minute we walked in (it didn't have that 'closed up for ages' smell about it). The bed was super comfy too! :) It's really well located with only a 5-10min walk to the beach and even less to the shops, restaurants etc. We love Port Macquarie as a whole and will definitely stay here again when we get back there :)
