We are new to the area and heard good things about this place. Our server, Maria, probably one of the BEST waitresses we have ever had, made sure to make our visit amazing.

However, we noticed her shirt was drenched, and we assumed she was assisting with dishes, so we asked. She replied, "it's a team effort."

I feel this is extremely unsanitary. Although our experience was amazing, it really makes us question the cleanliness. Hats off to Maria for being an efficient waitress. However, I feel for the level of business we experienced, they should have a dishwasher! I don't want my waitresses shirt covered in dish water and others food.

So the four stars is for our impeccable service and amazing food!

We hosted a baby shower here and let me tell you, I will host SO many more events at Merchants Cafe. Everything was absolutely amazing! Emily did an amazing job with the food, (SO much food and really really delicious!) Service was on point, pricing was VERY fair and the space is so cute and eclectic. Would recommend Merchants Cafe to everyone.

I have heard good reviews and was very excited to try this resturaunt. First impressions were good, it was nicely decorated and I loved how they left some things from when it was a bank, like the vault doors. It was busy so we expected to wait for our food, but it was breakfast food and we found the 45 minute wait for food ridiculous. The server seemed to get annoyed with us being there after our food came as my sister had to leave for work and immediately asked for the check and a to go box. I never once received a refill on my drink which was gone before the meal arrived and she ran off so fast everytime she was at our table i didn't get a chance to ask. I want to try again due to the mostly good reviews this may be a fluke, but it was a horrible first expirience

Future staple of North Branch!! Fabulous use and preservation of history. Charming & clean atmosphere. Extremely friendly staff. Best of all, food is delicious. Limited seating but that's part of the charm. Great addition to North Branch. Looking forward to trying their new limited dinner!

I had vegie Benedict - Super Delish! My friend was raving over the multi grain toast. My other friend had the senior classic with marble rye and he said definatly worth the trip we are going again. They open early 6 am. nice friendly service, clean, spaced, masked.

The stuffed French toast tasted like a carnival. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious. Home cut fries are my new favorite here! So nummy. I always got the eggs Benedict but today I got the 1/2 lb chicken sandwich from the burger section. That's my new favorite. And as always my favorite waitress Jenna.

Great place for breakfast. The only bad thing is that it is so small, that if you go on a weekend, it is hard to find a seat. We have been there both on a Saturd,ay and during the week. The eggs and biscuits and gravy were great. Will go back for sure

Was happy to see this restaurant busy and we did not mind waiting for a seat. Where they disappointed us greatly was after we ordered our food 2 other groups came in 20 to 25 minutes after we ordered and they received their orders 25 minutes before we finally received our order. Close to an 1.5 hours to receive our order and we watched two other groups receive their orders despite coming in 20 to 25 minutes after we ordered. Other than the atrocious wait time for our food and being bypassed the food was good..but not worth the wait.

Just left from my second visit. I will start with that I wasn't very impressed the first time, but I was open to giving it a second chance. I ordered the chicken quesadilla, which is a pretty basic menu option.
HUGE FAIL. The chicken was bland and had a spongy texture. I had to peel back the shell to see if there was pico de gallo like the menu claimed (minuscule specks).
The sour cream had the texture of ice cold, whipped butter that had gone bad. My knife could free stand in the portion cup. "Salsa" was basically watery crushed tomatoes that had a bitter after taste.

Good service but low quality ingredients made for a tragic meal.

Amazing food and very friendly staff. For a small town you typically don t have very many options when it comes to food locations unless it s pizza, fast food, or some random sit down restaurant. The atmosphere at merchants is different. It s modern, yet homey. You feel welcome and comfortable. They cater, offer delivery and pickup, and have delicious menu options with specials that change. They also offer to go lunch options, which is amazing imo. The cheese curds are my favorite, along with the burgers, Asian/Thai flatbread, Reuben, breakfast items (eggs benny anyone??) and they have hand cut french fries that are to die for. I m extremely grateful that a restaurant like merchants opened in a small town like North Branch because we needed it. I ve never had a bad meal there or a bad experience. I can t wait to see how much they grow within the community.

Website shows pictures of food, including delicious looking hand cut fries, but with my wrap I got frozen crinkle fries which was a huge bummer. And for how small the place, waiting 35 min for food to come was unexpected, and sucked with a 1 year old with me.

Excellent food and fast, friendly service. My fiancee had the reuben and thought it was one of the best she's ever had (and she's had many). I had the French dip. The meat was very tender and tasty, the bread fresh, and the seasoned waffle fries came with a delicious dipping sauce. Located in very old bank, you can see the old bank hardware including the doors to the safes. We will be back.

Weird tables and slow service but in a way it s charming in that small-town way. I ordered the Merchant s Benedict and was a little worried that it had biscuits instead of English muffins. I needn t have been worried, it was excellent. If you re not in a rush and want a satisfying and tasty meal you won t go wrong here.

The place is certainly cute, we loved the decor. The food was good as well but it took so long to get that we had to get to go boxes when she brought the food. 45 minutes from order to table for breakfast food. Even if the restaurant was full, which it wasn't, that's more than twice what I'd expect time wise. We had hungry kids too, so that didn't help. Not sure I'll be back. I'll probably give it one more try to see if things are different.

I've been here 4 times and can honestly say this is a great place with amazing staff and amazing food. Highly recommend the southwest wrap. I only give 4 stars because the place is so small when it first came to north branch people had to walk out. Since then, it's been full but always has another seat just for you. Food times when place is slow or busy seem to always be reasonable. Longest wait time was 40 minutes but I feel this is totally okay when all 8 tables and the "bar line up" are completely full.

The cafe was small but cute. I liked the menu selection and the staff was friendly. My mom ordered the side salad and it was nice to see celery sticks and radish slices on a side salad. The prices were really reasonable. I'm deducting a point only because the crispy chicken in my salad and my family's wraps was just a glorified chicken patty lol. It was still good food though and I'd go again.
