Great animals. Well laid out. One of my favorite zoos and I always stop when in town.
It's great for the kids and grand kids, lots of improvements, and interactive settings.
They closed everything down way too early. The zoo is open untill 6pm and all the restaurant's inside the zoo were shut down by 5pm. We were not able to get anything to eat before leaving the zoo.
Fantastic time visiting for Christmas!!! Brought our granddaughter and she was so excited!!! A definite must see
First time in coming to Memphis zoo. My kids loved it. We will be going back to this zoo.
We went during Covid, so I understand the guidelines, but several exhibits were closed or did not have names. Still a fun day, just not as nice as it used to be.
I live right next to this zoo, and have not been to many other than this one. I didn t notice how good our zoo was until I looked at different zoos. All in all, we have a great zoo, love it here!
AMAZING selection of animals to observe. Go when it's cooler. The animals are more active.
We really had a great time here , they have every animal you can think of,we explored this place for 3 hours for my son Birthday and still didnt get a chance to finish seeing everything, we made it like 2 and they closed at 5, best to go early, they have so many attractions and food, bathrooms, rest area, the qhole family can enjoy it here ....i will be returning to see the beau zoo lights next month in December..
This zoo is really nice. Very well laid out to help with social distancing. We'll definitely be back when the pandemic is over.
Had a great time with my children. They keep the zoo in really great shape and very clean. (Bring your own food....it's pricey here)
Just like any zoo. It has animals. Decorated nicer than most.
One of my favorite zoos in the country. Very well-organized. Always very clean. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
They allow only half capacity during this covid time, ticket charge is 18 dollar. Now it is a better location in this time to relax with children, well maintained.
Cool zoo. Nice exhibits. Pleanty of shade and some ac buildings to get breaks from the heat.
Most the big animals were being lazy but all in all its a great zoo
Loved seeing all the animals will definitely be back sometime! I have never fed a giraffe before until today. It was amazing!
Love going here. One of the best zoos I have ever been to.
My two daughters love it! Very big wide and open for distance with COVID.
I love going to zoos and this is a great one. They had a few things under construction when we visited but that being said there was still an entire day spent looking at animals I have 4 kids and they had a blast. I drove from jackson mississippi at 4 AM and would do it again in a heartbeat. I would avoid the food court there though as it is very pricey and the staff is rude.
Best zoo within hundreds of miles!
If you live in Memphis consider becoming a member! It pays for itself in 2 visits. My wife and I love going here to walk after work.
Really Great zoo to attend with the family !! Full of events for the Holidays !
The zoo was really clean and they have pandas but no sloths. It was very affordable, a great value for your money. It wasn't to big that you had to rush to see everything. The reptiles need more space.
Always my favorite place to unwind. Make sure you go into the tropical bird house and see the waterfall at the Teton trek
Its good to visit Memphis zoo during pleasant weather. You will find Elephants, Lion, Cheetah, Panda, Flamingo, Tortoise, birds, reptiles, and many more. Don't forget to watch the seal show... its gud one.
Very underrated zoo--one of the best in the country. Great variety of animals and habitats and splash fountain and wading pool for kids. Plan to spend all day to see everything--if you're local, the annual pass is absolutely worth it so you don't feel like you have to see everything in one visit.
Very nice small zoo. I have never seen the big cats so active. The monkeys were very playful as well.
Stellar zoo with an abundance of major animals. My children had a blast. We loved the tiger, lion, and reptile exhibits!
Great fun! Been going since I was a kid and it keeps getting better. If you need a good cool off head toward the polar bears. It's refreshing and right next to it is the seal show and the Grizzly bears. Best part of the zoo, is if you have a TN license you get in free on Tuesday starting around 2:30pm. So go and enjoy everything from Giraffes to Turtle to Red Pandas.
Always love going. The Cat house has delicious food... hard to choose. But I chose this Cesar Salad. Delish!!
Great variety of animals, friendly staff. Great extra exhibits as well
We had an awesome time and the price is good considering how much there is to do. Tons of animals in nicely maintained pens. I love this place and it's so much fun to be able to bring my daughter with us now. It can get pretty crowded, however.
Fabulous, constant improvement, loved the new Lego art displays.
It was the perfect afternoon to hit the zoo. Not busy, and the temps were perfect. One gripe I do have though is the price of bottled water, and other drinks.
One of the best zoo's I have been too. Easily walkable and I love the Egyptian theme throughout.
Good place to spend the day although has restrictions due to covid-19
It's very family friendly, with a wide variety of animals. Very clean and well maintained. It's always difficult to rate a zoo because realistically the enclosures are miles smaller than what their natural habitat would be. However, as a zoo, it is educational and clean and is as accommodating as it can be for both families and animals. I haven't posted many pictures because you should go and see it for yourself! It's a worthwhile experience.
The kid enjoyed it. The lions, penguins, monkeys were out. There were a lot of ppl there and a lot to see. Due to covid, some things weren't open
Most excellent place to go for family trip....the zoo is definitely well maintained and the animals always put on a show for the younger kids
I have visited a few zoos across different countries and this is by far the best. The zoo is well laid out and the Egyptian theme runs through it. I was very excited to see a Grizzly, polar and panda bears in a single zoo. The animals look very healthy and active. The gift shops are brimming with various different items. It is a great place for a family day out.
Fun zoo with many interactive exhibits. Would certainly recommend!
Massive zoo, plan on spending 4-5 hours here at a leisurely pace. Certain exhibits the animals are really close to you, which is neat.
It's so refreshing to walk around and learn about the wildlife from around the world. And, what better place to go than the Memphis Zoo. Of course, almost any local zoo would have its own theme, and special animals from other countries. But, Memphis is unique because of its own rich history.
The staff is helpful, and knowledgeable of the species. As busy of a day it can be, they still have a smile on their face. Unless one misses a specific event, or animal before they leave, hardly anyone leaves unhappy.
Good variety of animals. Very clean. Some things closed due to Covid.
Beautiful zoo. But get there early, since it gets very busy.
This is literally the best zoo I know of, they take really good care of the facilities and they love the animals. They are literally the Hidden gem of Memphis. Favorite exhibit is Pandas, Hippos, and Polar Bears... Teton Trek with the the Grizzlies is pretty awesome as well.
My family and I just love the zoo. The animals are well taken care of and the staff is pleasant. The rides for the kids are so cute and the mist fans that are placed all around the zoo are so helpful and cooling. The gift shop is so cute. The cafe could have to go boxes and prices are a little high but i still give the zoo 5 stars. I love the membership prices they are perfect.
Absolutely great experience... Haven't been since I was a kid, and had the opportunity to take my kids on TN. Tuesdays for free... Bigger and better than my childhood experiences ever were... Love what they've done with the zoo
Great zoo, lots of things to do. Plan on spending a good part of your day to see everything.
We love the Memphis zoo,its very clean and BEAUTIFUL,yes it does cost to get in but it's well worth it.
Easy access and animals were active while being fed..
The ride is worth the money to not have to walk around this whole place
The set up of this zoo is amazing. I loved how the animals were portrayed and my most favorite was the display of information about the animals and what the zoo does for them. Easy to go through with about 4 hours of things to do. More if you look around. Will definitely be visiting again in the future.
Always fun! Zoo membership for a family of 4 for a year ( free admission,15% discount on merchandise, and includes Zoo Boo and Zoo lights) for about $100. Best deal Ever.
Very clean. Animals look happy and well cared for.
Lots of walking and mostly all of the animals were out
I enjoy visiting the Memphis zoo, I have been going since I was a child. My only complaint are the bathrooms, as I do think they need to be monitored more often. Overall, a good experience
Good exhibits. Even better shows. I was so impressed I got a membership. Highly recommend. Great place for family outings. Plus they serve Alcohol now
Love going to the zoo. Always clean and nice staff.
This zoo is absolutely beautiful. The animals are well taken care of. The whole park is very clean. They do a wonderful job of educating people about the various animals. My favorite exhibit was cat country. I love all the big cats and learning about them. There were plenty of restrooms and places to get a drink throughout the zoo.
Loved the new exhibits! I hadn't seen the "Hippo Campus " . The baby is adorable! Loved the baby leopards as well! Lulu and Bella! Memphis Zoo is always improving! Please help support them!
Seem to be really cutting back on everything because of losses sustained by covid. All staff are friendly and try to make it as enjoyable as they can.
A lot of animals live a healthy life because of the wonderful staff and management. A great selection of species that well represents a sampling of the wonders and majesty of our wonderful natural world. If you are a nature lover then add this place to the bucket list. A sprawling park with acres and acres of well-maintained parks, play areas and picnic spots. Especially kids will enjoy this area. When you get there please take some Longer time to be here.
Had a great time with family seeing all the animals. Heart broken when I saw on the news that one of the red pandas had died.
Love this zoo...its set up so beautiful hut a lot of walking....but we'll worth the trip and money.
I love the zoo! It just keeps getting better every year! I remember from the 70 s and how much corporations, like Federal Express and many others have donated to make the Memphis Zoo a world class Zoo
My husband and I went during the off season. It was great because it wasn't crowded. There is so many exhibits to see. They did a really great light display at night throughout the whole zoo. The only drawbacks were: it had rained, it was cold, and the food places were closed.
Nice zoo with panda bears! Well laid out, lots of different animals (some were temporarily off exhibit). A couple eater areas for cooling off - a big hit with youngsters. There are also Lego sculptures throughout the park.
so gorgeous and the section themes are always so fun and colorful! one of my favorites is the Northwest Passage exhibit, the Chief Seattle statue and speech is just so meaningful. there's also this one old, fat seal that I always look forward to seeing. and who can forget the pandas!! we always visit the zoo whenever we come to Memphis
What a fun zoo great place to take the family and look at all the different animal they have their really fun.
Great place to take your Family. We had a great time.
The zoo is fun as always, but a lot of the animals weren't on exhibit because of the transfer to winter time. For example nearly the entire bird are was vacant.
Lovely Zoo. Lots of exhibits, very clean and well designed. I appreciate that it doesn t smell like a zoo.
Had a great time at the zoo! Definitely worth the trip and even though it was a very cool day we enjoyed the adventure. Wasn't ecstatic to find out they charged $5 for parking but seems about every place does now. As we arrived the entrance was larger than expected with many stone carved statues and Egyptian motifs. Was about $15 per ticket, moderate considering. Would be nice for family day packages like I've seen in other cities. As you enter it has a similar feel to many other parks, someone taking pictures and shops as you enter. The park itself felt well kept and was large. Lots of interesting animals and exhibits that changed throughout the different sections. Overall it was entertaining and we had a good time. One thing to note was there was an extra charge to enter where the sting rays were, $2 per person and more to feed them. Maybe necessary during busy periods but seemed a little unnecessary with how busy they were.
From exotic animals to farm house goats, Memphis Zoo has it all!! Door prices are reasonable for the quality of the zoo.
Well worth the drive.... Loved every minute of it, got to see it through my Grandsons eyes.
Great trip to this zoo! There is so much to do and see. Lots of walking. Good food. They were building more trails and areas to walk when we was there. Would recommend!
We always the memphis zoo... clean friendly park and ghe staff always knowledgeable and have great shows...
A great place to visit for children, teens, an adults. We LOVE Memphis Zoo.
Admission price is reasonable and the zoo is wonderful. We stayed 3 hours and saw lots of animals, but there is plenty to see if you want to make a day of it. Food is a bit expensive, but we saw people with coolers and a picnic area. If you have young kids, don't miss this!!
