Memorial hospital west Review

My son was born at Memorial West and was recently admitted there 19 years later. Nervous of course, but never doubt that he was in good hands. The staff cared for him like he was their own child. They were always respectful when I call, and not only provided me with accurate updates, but also comfort. It was most heartwarming one morning when I called and was told by the doctor that nurse Vivian, on her way to work made a special stop at Star Bucks to get my son a smoothie. I was literally overcome with emotion by Vivian s kindness.

I cannot adequately express my gratitude to the staff at Memorial West, but to Vivian, your thoughtfulness, compassion and kindness certainly makes this world a better place. Thank you for being genuinely helpful. This kind deed will be told many times over.

Don't make you feel umwelcome , they dont care about their patient, please avoid this place

Avoid this hospital if you have CoViD I was recently admitted to this hospital ; I was constantly giving blood thinning shots every day on my stomach since I ve been release from the hospital I am now left with a lump on the side of my stomach which now I will have to get check by my pcp I was giving multiple unnecessary shots every day to check my blood which didn t make sense which caused both of my arms are to be bruised and swelling, since I ve gotten home I ve been feeling extremely dizzy when walking due to whatever chemical they were giving me through the IV hopefully it wears off and go back to normal I m so glad to be out of there Beware!!!

My mother-in-law was treated deplorably at this hospital. We have reached out several times and they claim to want to speak to us, but this is false. No one in four months has addressed her treatment before, during and after her passing by email or phone. Due to the pandemic they said we could not be with her. We explained she could not communicate her own needs and we were dismissed. Upon entering the ER with fractures she was not assisted when requiring to go to the restroom. When she begged for help, she was ignored and we called in for assistance, she was given a Pan and was told to assist herself. When she called us in distress again, her phone was taken from her and not given back. We called and address this situation and were either disconnected or told she would simply have to wait her turn due to overload of patients! This is only the first encounter among many that led to y mother-in-laws passing under distress. Do not bring your seniors here, they do not listen to the senior let alone the caregiver who is trying to advocate for them. It took our family three weeks to get her medical records! After requesting then daily to see how her care was progressing since we could not be with her. It s saddening that the replies received via the reviews are generic, let alone not true. This institution does not address wrong doing. BEWARE, no one deserves to go through this pain. Seniors and their caregivers deserve better, it s not free and regardless of medical insurance deserve compassionate care.

Sending a huge thank you to Nurse Joelle in labor and delivery! I had 2 other great nurses but Nurse Joelle made me feel extremely comfortable and reminded me of my mother who was not able to be there. She took her time with me and gave me great advice. She even made me laugh when I felt the lowest. I can t stop thinking about her since leaving :(... I unfortunately lost my child due to stillborn but I hope to have her as my delivery nurse again when I do decide to try again. If you re reading this Joelle, you re awesome! God bless you! <3

What happened?? Memorial west was a 5 plus HOSP. Now it s a 2 the service is horrible. Nurses don t care , give Pt there medicine am one at noontime. Especially the diabetes which must have their insulin in am! My cuz just informed me that her food is all over her on the bed she is a stroke PT . WHAT happened I use I recommend you highly!!!

Came to Er to be admitted for a surgery tomorrow. And I was told there is an 18 hour wait. The Er waiting room is so dirty so disgusting. As a patient who just needs to be admitted with a compromised immune system there should be a better way. I will not wait here in this dirty room for 18 hours which means no surgery for me... I am not even in and already find this hospital disgusting

My son was born here and our experience was excellent. The nurses (in part not including the night nurses) were professional and helpful. Things were done correctly, safely and everything was in good shape and order. They're a good birthing hospital.

If 0 was an option that s what I would give them. After waiting an hour and a half to fill a prescription they tell me they don t have it stocked I would if waited until closing time and no one would of approach me. Never ever will I use them. First and last time.

I have not visited here yet but I will soon be giving birth here, I noticed the visitor policy for the birthing center had changed from 1 guest to 2 guest on the website which I was very excited about wanting to have BOTH my spouse & mother present for this very important event in my life! When I called the hospital excitingly, the front desk lady kept telling me that only 1 visitor is allowed...which confused me because I m sure the website wouldn t be updated for no reason & when I tried to explain where I found the information she proceeded to talk over me insisting it s only 1. I m confused & want to have the best visit possible.
