I decided to go into this place today , big mistake horrible food . The bread wasn t toasted , and the cheese wasn t melted. It was , a totally waste of $28.00 I work really hard for my money . And I really felt cheated, with the meal that I received . I ordered a margarita it was horrible , syrup and ice no tequila for $12.99. I ve been, in this place twice and the service sucks . The waitress , was very rude I told her that I didn t care for the drink because it was diluted with water. She informed , me that she saw the bartender add two shots . It was one of the worse , placed ice are at before. I will not go back to this place, and would advice that they work on customer service. Clearly, if I didn t like the drink the waitress could have asked if I wanted something else . I would advice, that people go somewhere and spend your money and get quality service and food. This place is way overpriced .

Food was absolutely horrible and way overpriced for frozen and microwaved. It is not the same as I remembered. It s gotten gradually worse. Will not be back, ever!! Reply not necessary!!

Asked for rotisserie chicken, and they didn't have it. So I ordered the fettuccine alfredo. After waiting 30 minutes, the waitress told me that the chef didn't have the sauce for the dish. So I left. God awful service!

I Was told once upon a time many years ago this place had half decent food ...MANY years ago. Today however,The food quality is very poor and barely edible, which explains why the place seems to be barren most times I walk by. They don't specialize in anything and the food they serve is just...bad. I would assume people may go here out of desperation for a quick cheap meal void of quality. It's just too bad, just wasted space in the Hyde park community. I truly don't understand its existence. Much better businesses can occupy the space which would actually contribute to the overall experience in the community. Thank goodness for all the new restaurants in HP!!! Close already!

NEEDED A LITTLE "ME TIME" THE DAY I VISITED(DESPITE THE COLD/RAIN) I ENJOYED MY VISIT..S/O TO ALEX,THE FEMALE WAITRESS AND THE GUY(WHOM MADE MY MIMOSA AND CASH ME OUT AFTER I WAS FINISH)! COMFY QUIET ATMOSPHERE,FRIENDLY PLEASANT STAFF,SOS(SPEED OF SERVICE) ON POINT, MY FOOD WAS DELISH(I HAD A TASTE FOR A ) SO, ALEX RECOMMENDED THE "GARBAGE " IT SHOULD BE RENAMED TO THE "ULTIMATE TASTER "..BECAUSE THE TASTE OF THE AND "ALL" THE TOPPINGS WAS DELIGHTFUL! MY MIMOSA WAS TOO...I MET A FRNDLY LADY(WHOM WAS ON HER WAY OUT) SHE, I AND ALEX TLKD BRIEFLY( ABOUT CHGO WEATHER)WHICH I ENJOYED! 5 IS MINIMUM...I GOTTA GV 10 ..AND, I'LL DEF BE BCK AGAIN! The service was absolutely horrible. The waitress was supposedly new and she had a hard time understanding what I was saying because she appeared to have minimal English language skills. The food come out super later and then my order was all wrong. Requested to see the manager, she took forever to come over and speak to me...the worst experience I have ever had.

Horrendous cuisine. There is no seasoning, no flavor or no personality to the food. It's as bland as bland gets yet unfortunately the price tag hovers around $15 for a plate (yet after a meal and drinks for two, I always wind up paying near $50). They have the worst mashed potatoes you'll ever eat. The drinks are CONSISTENTLY watered down to the point where it tastes like you're eating a melted snow ball, a drop of juice and a morsel of fruit hidden somewhere within. The reason why I'm done with them for good though is because they had the audacity to charge me $4 to add bacon as a substitute for ham in a Denver Omelette. To top it off, the cashier wanted to argue with me over whether or not I would be able to buy an entire pack of bacon for $4 at any grocery store. If it weren't for their courteous waiting staff I would have given them a 0 score for service. To hell with Mellow Yellow.

The food was below deserving of a full star. The waitress seem nice, however not attentive, forgetful and possibly overwhelmed. The issue was the head cook, no seasoning, possibly microwaved and terrible presentation for the price. Best item on the menu was the mimosas. Very unsatisfied customer. We were not rude and still tipped very well.

Comfy food in great location and reasonably priced. Parkinv is terrible.

The older waitress TALK TOO MUCH. FOOD HAD GOTTEN WORSE!!! DON'T THINK I'LL BE GOING BACK...TIRED OF GIVING THEM CHANCES. UGGGHH and she told me I was ordering TOO much food!! Smdh. Good thing my mom taught me manners. She almost got cursed out but I'm trying to change. And how the chef don't know how to cook eggs. They get me every time

The food is horrible. This restaurant has lost its flavor. It's damp and clustered. I thought the prices of the food is high for the amount you are not receiving. I had corn beef hash and scramble eggs. I will not visit again. A great disappointment.

Food was ok but overpriced. The waitress had an attitude seemingly the whole night, like she didn't want us there. Drinks were watered down and also overpriced. They have drink specials listed online but did not honor in restaurant. (Bar Native has never steered me wrong before.) And lastly the waitress rushed us out before 9 even though the place wasn't supposed to close till 11. Will not be revisiting this establishment.

Very nice quiet place first time I've been to Lincoln heights

Food was pretty regular. I had the fried chicken and waffles. Fried a little too hard for me but waffles were good. I think this is a better breakfast joint.

Went to have lunch with a friend and spent 60 dollars. On a cheese burger and fries and my friend had the fish and chips with two drinks , I asked Slyvia the waitress to give me change for a 5 to give her a tip and she takes the whole 5 and says , she has to pay the busboy . Food wasn't good and service was horrible .

Always great food, great atmosphere, always treated nicely by greaters, wait staff and cashier, I have never had a bad meal here!!!

When did Mellow Yellow get so expensive? Just wasnt worth $51 for 1 person and it was breakfast

I ordered a patty melt and received two hamburger patties with two pieces of cheese on it on toast. Had to send it back barely any difference the second time. Can't blame the server though he did a good job very attentive. 420 not recommended. Really wanted a patty melt

Great breakfast...really good home fries...large portions...very friendly staff...may become a regular for Saturday breakfast.

I walk past this place all the time so today I decided to go in. Worst mistake of my life. I ordered the buffalo wings and chili. The chili is worse than Hormel chili out of the can and the wings were fried hard, when I didn't ask them to be and literally had hot sauce poured on top, not buffalo sauce (there's a difference). Not once during my stay did the waitress I had come to check on me and I was the ONLY customer in there. I clearly didn't eat the food and yet ended up with a $30 bill for some worse than canned chili and nasty wings. And in order to get my bill I had to literally walk to the back and yell "hello". Talk about rude. I'll never come to this place again.

Price to high food not that good waitress not good either

This may have been my last visit here. I get protecting your servers, but when you decide what I'm going to tip, and it is a party of two....I'm done!!

I went here and my waiter Alex was nice. But the food was ok. The Meat & Cheese Omelet was too meaty to the point only thing really holding it together was the cheddar cheese. I also had the French toast which was just the Texas toast toasted with too much cinnamon. It wasn t dipped in egg and fried with butter. Then my grits were cream of wheat and not grits.

Didn't like the fried green tomatoes and the cole slaw was downright nasty

Purchased the buffalo shrimp. It was okay, it would have been better with medium size shrimps instead of a shrimp basket type of shrimp. They gave me frozen cocktail sauce..smh!! Enjoyed the sweet cantaloupe.

If i could give no stars I would I hate I didnt read the reviews before I went there. Our waiter was rude I asking a question about the menu and he walked away as I was speaking to him we were sitting close to the kitchen I watched the cooks eating while cooking and putting food in the microwave. When I told the waiter I didn't want my food cooked in the microwave he got very nasty with me. I dont recommend. My first and last time.

Mellow Yellow's A Chicago South-Side staple. Ample portions; reasonable pricing, what more could you ask for other than more parking?

Today mellow yellow said that they had a 20% off sale before my group orders. We get breakfast and we check out, My friend notice that s they didn t take 20% off after we paid. So we asked them and they said they didn t know that s it was 20% off day. So just to say don t go there because they do cheat you out of your money

I can honestly say I was very disappointed in this place. I've heard about this place for years about how good their food is. Well it wasnt! I ordered hot wings and soup which is pretty hard to mess up. I had to ask for water (which never came the first time I asked) and napkins. The food was hot and presented nicely but there was ABSOLUTELY no flavor whatsoever! Felt like I was eating air. Just a word of advice to the owner or cooks...PLEASE season the chicken! The sauce you put on them once they are cooked doesnt not substitute for the flavor. Also there was hair in the chicken, which was taken care of by the waiter, which I appreciated because I was highly disappointed. And one last thing, I'm not sure what you guys need to do about the fruit fly problem but its really unpleasant to keep swatting bugs away from your food especially if you're hardly enjoying it!

I thought this place was very nice. I like the extra space it has for seating. My waiter was great and friendly and checked on us often. My food was prepared great. I will definitely be back in the future for more brunch or brinner lol!

Brianna was very professional. My son and I enjoyed the food there.

Pancakes were tough
And potatoes were un seasoned and hard undercooked..

They ran out of cat fish !!! The whole reason I drove 45 mns to this restaurant.
