I was here a year ago and they were not well stocked. That has changed since they stopped selling online. That sucks for people who can t come to Leadville but the store is now full of inventory which was great to see

They said during the summer months they could run low but the other three seasons they re fully stocked

I've had most of my Mellys for 5 years and they still look and feel new - this place is incredible, with the only downside being the low inventory due to high demand!

So impressed with the clothing this company produces! My wife and I picked up two micro grid hoodies and some beanies. Then came back and got my daughter a micro grid dress and beanie. Then back again and got her a pro fleece hoodie and my wife picked one up too! I would have gotten one as well but the men's had been picked over (so none in my size). So warm, great quality and American made of American made materials! Win-win!

Great as always. I have Melly clothes that are 10+ years old and still rock solid. Just picked up some power dry shirts and a hoodie. They all needed the sleeves shortened by like 3-4 inches, and the Melly crew did a perfect job quickly and free of charge. Love that store...

I love this store, the gear is functional and lasts forever. I actually still have a shirt I got 10 years ago. I have washed it so many times that the tags are completely white, with all the words washed away, and the shirt itself looks brand new

2nd time i have tried to shop at Melanzana, waited 45 mins in 37 degrees on Sunday...crazy!

Very nice, inexpensive good quality clothing for outdoor enthusiasts.

There's nothing more comfortable than melenzana clothing. They allow nice leashed dogs in store which is important to me. They will check the production in the back if they think it's possible that what you want is in the back. Overall my favorite store for ultralight and utility clothing. I just wish they had leggings and dog clothes!

Maybe best value, product quality customer service I've ever encountered making an on-line purchase. Great products obviously designed by people ski, board, mtn bike, climb, etc. Not NYC hipsters. Their hoodies & beanies are as good as it gets regardless of price. And when I ordered on line and they had a bit of a delay they called me 10 minutes after I submitted to ask my about my preferences. This place is Made in the US quality.

It felt...homey, somehow. I love the gear I purchased, and I kind of love that they aren't doing online orders for now. It's worth the drive, honestly.

Omg this place is the greatest place. Super well made clothing, and you can literally see them making them in the back. A small business that could make it huge, but isn't taking advantage of people in its ventures. Love love love love it! Also the people are so kind!

THE rudest customer service. The short man just looked at me like I was an idiot while I was chatting with him. He didn t even answer my question, just walked away. From other reviews below it s evident that others have had problems with him too. The chick behind the desk was a little better, would actually talk to me, but had an attitude about her as well. This was my second visit. Writing a review now because I understand that people have bad days - but my first visit was unpleasant with respect to rude staff as well.

Regarding the actual clothing - the dress will fit a woman as long as she is 5 5 or under. Any taller and it will shrink from washing (not drying). I basically have a long shirt that shows 2 inches of butt. I m only 5 8.

Went to the store in Leadville. Limited stock and very expensive. I asked if they had a particular sweatshirt in my size, and the gentleman at the counter just said ,"No" without any more information about how I could get one or any help whatsoever. Horrible customer service!

This place makes outstanding clothing products. Recently got a new jacket from them that is of excellent quality, unique features, and much more.

This is Colorado, home grown gear. If you do Colorado activities, this is what you should be wearing. Bonus points for getting it from the source, not the internet.

Located on Main Street in historic Leadville. Watch the clothing being sewn. New items placed on the racks as they are completed. High quality Colorado clothing every local has in their wardrobe. Soft, warm, durable and functional. Styles and colors change all the time.

I have high end mountain hardwear, black diamond, and arc'teryx winter jackets...hard face hoodie from melanzana is still my go to winter jacket in the mountains of CO, none of the others come close in terms of combination of comfort, durability, wind protection, and warmth

Simple, durable, and amazingly comfortable. They offer many different layering options, both breathable and warm. I never leave home without my microgrid hoodie.

This store is employee owned and the manufacturing area is directly behind the retail space. It's great to know that the items you're purchasing are made by people you can meet and talk to. The local emphasis isn't a recent fad, either, as they've been in business over 20 years. Great clothes, too!

I love my sweater! It is so amazing. It fits great it is super soft and it is a perfect piece for fall or winter. Great for hiking in the mountains. A little tough to get them you have to go to Leadville but I am always looking for reasons to go. I am getting all my kids one for Christmas!

Melanzana's products are THE best. I am a professional river guide in Colorado, and almost everyone in my profession owns at least one piece of melanzana gear. The staff at the store are friendly and helpful, and the products are super easy to browse in the store.

I've been wanting a jacket from here for years and finally purchased one. I love it and for how light weight it is it keeps me plenty warm.

Great quality stuff! If you want to set yourself apart from the North Face wearing masses this is a perfect place to do it. They have several options in terms of material for jackets with color options that are simple but attractive.

Well a group of us drove three hours from Grand Junction. We get to the store all excited and walk in and were a bit confused. Very little inventory on the sales floor (only a handful of x-large sized pants and hoodies for the men). We chatted with the nice lady up front who said sorry we have no inventory on the floor we are stock piling it for our big sale in October. We want to have multiple sizes and colors for this upcoming sale .

We could see a large area in the back with loaded with apparel. We kindly explained about our long drive and she recommended that we make an additional trip on their big sale day.

We practically begged her to let us buy something, please let us give you money, we know what we want, we just don t want to have to redrive up here again. Why not sell it to us today instead of October. She declined .... worst business model/plan ever!!

If you know it, why are you looking at reviews? Go toward the end of the before or early in the weekend, they sell out!

Great clothes for reasonable prices. All hand made in Leadville.

The products that Melanzana produces are fantastic!! They are all hand-sewn in Leadville at their store. The jackets are a bit pricey but totally worth it!! They will keep you warm and give excellent ratings on the tags of whether they're meant for cold or wind or a combination of the two. Some of the colors are not the prettiest and their inventory is usually pretty low unless you go in Mud season (Late April-Early June). If you are in the area it is worth stopping by to see what they have.

Nice clothing as long as they have what you want. They need to ramp up their manufacturing.

I am a local in the area and love Melenzana. However, today (3-18 at about 1130) I went in with my family including two small children going to get a gift for my daughter. We walked in and the lady at the desk interrupted her own phone call to yell at my children to not touch the clothes. This is my first bad customer service experience with this company, but my father (who was there with us) said this lady in particular is always extremely rude. She must be the owner because I can't imagine anyone that rude keeping her job long driving customers away like that. At least she wouldn't in my business.

Won the lottery back in late August placed my order waited nearly 2 weeks and it still hasn't shipped. Decided it was worth calling to figure out what was going on, was told that I could come into the store to pick it up the next day and they would refund the shipping fee. Drove an hour and a half to get there 20 minutes before they opened and had to wait over 2 hours just to get in! Once in I was told that it had been sent out that morning even though when I called the woman said it would be set aside. On top of this one of the men working there seemed very upset at me for coming in to pick up an online order and scoffed at me for being upset that it had been mailed. Literally the worst retail experience I've ever had. I will be giving the order away because the last thing I want is to be seen supporting a business that treats there customers with such disrespect. I'll be sure to recommend to all of those I know that no one gets anything from melanzana moving forward due to this terrible experience.

These guys have a SERIOUS inventory problem. No online sales, shelves are bone dry of anything in stock. The retail is just sad. They know they have a problem and I get it, the demand is high, but please make something work here. It's a bummer for all

These days you can't buy anything in the store. They are always out of stock. Better to buy online.

I made sure to arrive early before the store opened. I wasn't too terribly far back in line. I waited patiently for my turn to go into the store. I was able to get my limit of two micro grid fleece hoodies. I am very happy with the hoodies, and with the shopping experience overall.

I love that they use Is sourced polartec, their clothes last forever.

This is a very unique shop. Their clothing isn't available online, so you have to come in person to purchase. As soon as you walk in, you can see their whole manufacturing operation behind the counter. The garments made here are soft, comfortable, and fit so many body types amazingly well. I highly recommend this store for grabbing reasonably affordable ($70), comfortable garments.

The quality of their products is next level. Worth every dollar!

I've been living in Melanzana clothing for years, and their stuff works hard I've only had to replace one piece so far due to an unfortunate bonfire incident. If you've complained in your review about the lack of stock, you're dumb... it's a small specialized business not a giant superstore chain meant to cater to your every whim. You'll never regret your Melanzana purchase, trust me.

Walked into the shop this past Sunday and was told Saturday & Sunday is not a good day to go shopping - all the inventory is gone. Come back on a Tuesday said the man behind the front desk that looked at me like I had 10 heads. Seriously, you want me to come back during the week? You don t even know where I came from. My boyfriend was actually wearing Melanzana! I buy my friends and family gifts for the holidays from Melanzana. However, after the unpleasant experience, I will never support this business again. Which is too bad, because I enjoy supporting local shops like this that create jobs in small towns like Leadville.
