Melanzana Outdoor Gear Inc Review

I was a lucky winner of the summer lottery for online shopping and want to express gratitude towards Melanzana for this opportunity. With everything happening in the world, I was happy for a chance to safely support a local business. Plus, I am very happy with my new, incredibly soft hoodie and can't wait to wear it on all of my run, hike, bike, ski, and camping adventures! There was one hiccup with my order where only half of my order was sent but this was quickly resolved. It took some persistence to get ahold of someone (I tried both email and phone) but their customer service was excellent when I got a response. They promptly mailed me the rest of my order and now I'm quite literally a happy camper :)

My husband and I both recently ordered a micro grid hoodie, and we could not be happier with the product we received. Great customer service, responded to emails within a day, fast shipping. We spend a lot of time camping and hiking and the hoodies are light weight and warm.

For the whiners about "lack of inventory", this is niche company--not REI. Everything is made in house instead of a sweatshop overseas. So, get over it!

worst small business i have ever encountered. Customer service was terrible, worse than terrible, worst people i have ever spoken with over a phone. I ordered a product they didn't have in stock (which is their most popular color and product) then proceeded to wait for 3 months till it was "back in stock", mind you they make everything right there in the store. How does it take 3 months to get me a product you can make in the store in less than an hour? furthermore after waiting three months they sent me the wrong color. I sent it back and was then told they were sold out of the color i wanted. At this point i am sure you could see how angry I was. I said fine send it to me when its made. another 3 months later and still no wind pro hoodie. I called and demanded a refund and she said she "couldn't find my return". Then I asked to speak to a manager and she refused to put her on saying she had more important things to do. More important that dealing with an incredible upset customer and the livelihood of your business? So not only did they not send me a product, they sent me the wrong one and lost all my information, and management wouldn't even talk to me. This company is garbage and their product isn't that great either compared to others. Way overpriced for what you get and their company's integrity is terrible. I would recommend staying as far away from this small town garbage dump store for as long as they are in business, which im sure if others have the same experience i had with them, won't be long.

This place has the best clothes! They are normally sold out but are very good about getting products back on the shelf!

This was a great sewing store by staff who see everything they sell!!! Such hard work for great soft fabricated clothing. Great prices for all the hard work they do. Lol they can't keep up!!! Definitely worth stopping by.

As of September 9th they re-opened with limited hours (1-6pm). Be prepared to stand in line, it's worth the wait! I really value how they take in one customer at a time or (limit 4 in your party), allow you to pick what you want and you are out in less than 5 minutes. It's a great and safe system during Covid19. The customer service is really friendly, helpful and overall awesome! Just be decisive and know what you want. Stock will vary and you won't know what they have until you arrive, but this is the current board. Loved my experience. I live in my Melanzanas all winter. They last a long time and wash up well!

What a great place. Walk in look for a garment you like. No internet sales. Very cool to watch them making product in front of your eyes.

I have a small addiction to Melanzana. I love all of their clothes and it is made to last! They come out with new products and sell quick! Everything is hand made which makes it even better. It is my go to gift for anybody! Now yes they are a little expensive but you ar repaying for quality items! If you haven't tried them you are missing out!

Love the service, the quality, the prices, you can't beat it. Had to come 5 times before I could get my hands on a jacket, not complaining though. Worth every time.

Fabulous clothing store with gear you cant find anywhere else. You can also watch them make the product. The gear is pricey though.

If you want gear meant for the outdoors, made right in front of you, this clothing store is the place to visit.

Applying my extensive education on business from The Profit, this place has great people and products. Process could be better but I do somewhat admire the owners lack of ambition for greed. I ll be back.

World famous place because of a world class product! You won t regret purchasing their hoodies and fleece. It will be your favorite base layer or outerwear.

Love their products, but NEVER have any children s sizes in stock. My husband and brother-in-law buy something everytime we stop in, had nothing in their size the last two times. No stock and have asked three times if they at least have a sample to try on for my hard to fit child. They do not care!

So genuine and I appreciate the quality of craftsmanship

We are still wearing Melanzana tops that we bought when the store first opened. My fleece vest is my favorite for winter cycling- never too hot, but even keeps me warm when I'm sweating. The best gear for the price!

Nice quality fleece nothing that revolutionary but over all good quality and support a local Colorado company.

wait to get into store is normally about an hour and a half right now. high quality, all USA pullovers. very comfortable

Not sure why they even have a website if they don't plan on selling anything on it. I used to be a huge fan but I will never buy anything from them again. It really is a shame but with a little work I found a better jacket than their hoodie that was actually a bit cheaper.

Expecting people to go to Leadville (a tiny town in the middle of the Colorado mountains) just to get a jacket is insane and they claimed that they were working on their supply problems.... but it's been going on for at least two years now so I don't believe they're actually trying.

Oh, and if you'd really like to buy them online you can buy them from people that live in or near Leadville and then buy them at the store and then sell them for double or triple the price of the store. It's really quite insane. I'll stick with other companies that know how to properly run a business.

I love the dress I got. It s super warm and comfortable. I can t wait for winter now. It will be great for xcountry skiing, snowshoeing and running to keep me a little warmer on those cold but sunny winter days. They didn t have much on the floor. The man behind the counter said they get pretty cleared out over the weekend and we went on a Monday.

Love Melanzana. The clothes are well made and reasonably priced. Have to time your visits to get what you want as everything is in such high demand.

If you are in Leadville be sure to check them out. The melanzanas that they make can only be bought here. The people that own their products are proud Coloradans. The products come in unique shades and sell very quickly. If you see something you like be sure to grab it. They are sturdy and very warm. One of the great things about Melanzana is if you buy something and it gets worn out and old you can take it back to the store for a credit toward a new purchase .

I love this place! They have the best hoodies and vest for an active outdoor lifestyle. If you get a chance go in and pick up a hoodie. You wont be disappointed!!!

The wait to get in was two and a half hours on Sunday, September 27, 2020. I arrived at 1pm, right as they opened, and the line was already around the block. At first I thought their one-customer-at-a-time policy was a bit overkill, but once inside I saw that this is really the fastest way to let people shop safely. The staff who helped me were remarkably calm and friendly considering how much more difficult their jobs must be during the pandemic. Make your selections right before you walk in (current stock is listed on a chalkboard in the window and constantly updated) and you'll be out of there in 5 minutes or less.

As for the products themselves, I think their reputation speaks for itself. I talked to a few people in line who've been wearing their Melanzana gear for years and years. The micro grid hoodie I bought is feels extremely comfortable and high-quality. The price is very reasonable for something with this much trail cred.

Really dope local outdoor clothing shop. All of their gear is great quality and well-priced. They make everything in the shop which is really cool

Love the product, love Leadville and love the uniqueness. Our Melanzana experience was well with the longer route we took thru Leadville to get to our destination!!

Love my micro grid hoodie. What they have out is what they have to sell. It seems they have a hard time keeping up with the demand but that's how you know you're getting a good product.

This store is LOVELY. The staff is friendly and the products are high quality, no wonder they don't ship because the demand is much too high. For corona times they are closed but you can enter a lottery to purchase online and they are making a shipping exception for obvious reasons. Melanzana clothes hold up well in any outdoor activity and keep me toasty warm. I just thru hiked the colorado trail and this was my only warm layer and it worked beautifully. I have multiple hoodies and dresses. Totally recommend as a staple in your pack!

I drove my daughter to Leadville on April 9, to purchase one of your wicking pullovers. She loves the color and the warmth.
PLEASE go back to selling on line as I was issued a $25 parking ticket, with the curbs covered in snow, by Community Service Officer Jose Renteria. There were NO "No parking" signs at the corner of 8th and Harrison.

You would be better off closing your online business until you have your poop in a group. I wait for the Tuesday release, put the item in the cart, when it s time to pay, the item in my cart is no longer in stock... crazy frustrating.

These folks are so awesome. They are working their butts off to meet the demand and to keep it local. When I went in close to the holidays, they were obviously busy, but super friendly and the customer service was excellent!

This place has some very awesome clothing. They make it in store. You can see the people on the sewing machines in the shop. They say the material is the warmest to wear in the winter months. I love the style. It's very stylish.

Best fleece wear on the market and handmade in Leadville

High end outerwear. Locally made and owned. Ive had Melly gear last FOREVER! Takes a beating. It is pricey, but for clothing that is MADE IN THE USA and will LAST 3 TIMES LONGER longer than other high end brands, I consider it money intelligently spent.

my garment ripped very easily and I did not like the functionality of the awkwardish hood under my arcteryx shell. I strongly support colorado companies but gave both garments away because of the bad experience I had. I strongly recommend LOKI OUTERWEAR for their hidden features like a neck gator in the hood, the sleeves turn into mittens and the whole hoodie turns into a backpack.

I understand that the selection available in the store front is what is placed out on the racks. However, when asking a gentleman that worked there a question about a possible color combination, he looked at me like I was an idiot, rolled his eyes, and then couldn't answer the question simply and kindly.

They kept putting new stock out as they finished sewing (which you can see them doing in the store as you shop). So, I bought something in one size too big in colors I sort of liked early in the morning. Then I took a long walk down adorable historic Mainstreet and by the time I got back to the car, they had put something out in my size in my favorite colors. Great little place!

Stopped in at Melanzana this weekend on our way through Leadville after hiking a 14er. Was excited to check out what they had in stock. Turns out nothing but a bunch of empty racks and no one doing anything about it. The man behind the counter was very cold when telling us it was our problem for shopping on a weekend and we should do our shopping during the week. I don t know how this company is still in business, a temporary lack of product may be excusable but the lack of customer service certainly isn t. Hopefully these guys get their act together but not going to bother to find out. No, I won t be back in during the week, or ever again.

What an awesome store! Their layers are super comfy and you can see them making the cloths behind the registers! When I found out you couldn't order online I made sure I at least got a hoodie to tide me over until the next time I'm in Leadville!

Will never shop there..rude ..and when made a simple request to hold an item for a flat no..this was after another employee said sure no problem..
