Avoid

Just avoid dealing with them and work directly with your insurance and pediatrician. They promised me that I would be getting formula covered by insurance for my month then told me never mind because they charged the insurance too much and they wouldn’t pay. They only care about making money and ripping people off.

I followed all the instructions with putting in my insurance information and placed an order for a breast pump. My insurance company was charged $500 for the pump and 18 months after I delivered my baby I received a bill for $95. Originally, the info stated it was all covered by my insurance company as long as I chose an option that was fully funded by my insurance- I wouldn't have to pay extra. Unfortunately, apparently I do 18 months later I owe money on a pump I no longer use.
When I spoke with customer service they stated they would look into and get back to me. The never did and I had to call again to ask for help. She responded I owed the money and here is my signature. Feeling frustrated and annoyed that a company is doing this to people.

This company exists to rip off your insurance company, and, by extension, you. They charged my insurance company $664 for a pump that retails for $160 at Target, plus another $80 to us for an "upgrade". They make it hard to tell what they are actually charging before the transaction, of course, otherwise they would have no business. Healthcare costs in this country are high because companies like this one are stealing from your pockets. We all pay for their greed with our premiums. They should close this business and find ways to contribute to their community instead of finding perfectly legal ways to steal from their neighbors.

This company exemplifies what is wrong with Healthcare. My insurance company was billed $500 for a breast pump, and I paid an additional $105, for an "upgrade", totaling $605 paid for the breast pump. On Amazon the same EXACT breast pump (without insurance or this company involved - free market) = $199.99 for a 300% mark up. Working in healthcare for years, it is not unusual for markups to be huge, however, when it is this blatant, it is shameful. This is just another example of why healthcare costs consumers so much, unnecessarily, per year. Don't involve this company, use your HSA money on Amazon, and cut the middle men out!

Avoid this horrible company! Read the reviews giving one star - the same things happened to me and my family. I wish I had read the other reviews before doing business with Medsource, they are a bunch of scammers.

This company does not operate in good faith. Let me lay it out very simply: Their business model is to sell you medical supplies, and then to sign you up for automatic monthly parts without telling you, and then bill you and your insurance for those parts and extras you didn't sign up for and don't need at a massively inflated rate. These are cheap plastic parts and accessories that you can find in retail stores for a fraction of the price. For example, they billed our insurance $300 for a tiny plastic bottle that costs $10 everywhere else. So far they've billed my insurance over $5,000 worth of charges for about $50 worth of plastic replacement parts that we never asked for. So they are making a massive profit on these extra accessories.

When the first box with replacement parts arrived I was confused, so I tried contacting them multiple times using the numbers on the included invoice. The phone numbers they print are not accurate, I got the run around from multiple reps and transferred all around to different people. They make it impossible to contact them to resolve these issues.

It looks like they have replied to other reviews, and they will probably respond to this review saying that what they do is legal, or maybe that they have set rates and pricing with insurance companies and they can't do anything about it. While that might be partly true, it doesn't mean it's ethical. If it isn't already, what they're doing should be illegal, plain and simple.

They might also say that I somehow agreed to this arrangement for monthly charges, that it was explained by a representative, or maybe that I didn't understand it, or that it's very clearly written somewhere. Let me be perfectly clear: None of that is true either. There was NEVER any mention of monthly charges or replacement parts or ongoing charges. Not once. We only ordered one piece of equipment, that's it.

To top it all off, I noticed that at least a few of the 5-star reviews on here are fake - they are from employees and their family, not from real customers.

To the people that work at MedSource and enable these business practices: Shame on you. Your company is truly awful. MedSource is a perfect example of why healthcare is so expensive in the United States.

Avoid, avoid, avoid!!

I received great customer service in ordering a breast pump. The representative that I spoke to made the process of getting a breast pump easy and seamless. If i ever need any other medical supplies they will be my first call.

beware of this company, they repeatedly trying to double charge me and the insurance company. I had to make multiple phone calls to them and my insurance companies to clear this up. They repeated states they will contact the insurance company, but according the the insurance company, they never did. I get statements from the insurance company stating the bill had been paid, but they kept sending me additional states saying the payments were not made. BEWARE!

This company is shady. I ordered a breast pump through them, which should be 80% covered through my insurance. But they are charging a pointless $100 upgrade fee, which my insurance said they've NEVER heard of or seen any company do. I ordered a breast pump that costs $220 if I just were to buy it in stores but they are charging insurance $300 for the pump and an extra $100 "UPGRADE" fee that makes zero sense.... So they are getting $400 for a pump that costs $220. What they are doing seems clearly wrong and they are just overcharging.

I delivered early and filled out a form on their website. Filled out my breast pump decision and then once my doctor sent in my prescription they shipped pump free shipping to my house. I chose the Spectra S2 and so far I like it but wish I could recharge it. They send monthly replacement parts so i have some extra bottles to keep up with my supply

My doctor said I could use the prescription she gave me to order a breast pump through Medsource. I filled out their form and sent prescription into email, and they contacted me a few days later. My insurnace said I had to wait closer to due date to have pump shipped to me but still arrived on time for my baby's early arrival!! They also let me get monthly shipments of bottles and tubing for my SPectrum pump

This company gets 0 stars. They're thieves and will charge your insurance company an exorbitant amount of money.

We've called the company twice to cancel, but they keep charging our insurance company. We receive parts for a breast pump every month, even though we don't need new parts. Also, Medsource LLC is charging us $1,390. for parts that cost around $100 (total). See screenshots for proof.

Karma is real, and I hope the execs in this shady company get what they deserve.
