Great selection but getting more expensive as time goes on

I always enjoy walking through your store. The selection is great. The people are helpful. The store is clean and prices very reasonable. To top it off, I live in Michigan which makes you a destination when I travel.

This place is Awesome! I love just browsing and getting good deals!

You can find almost anything if you're willing to look long enough. Great prices and trade ins make everything worth it. The only downside is due to customers constantly rummaging through the shelves, organization is a bit sloppy.

Love the low prices, and how you can take in your old things for money or store credit!

I love this store! I always find way too much stuff that I just have to have! Check the "scratched" CDs for GREAT bargains - I got three of my favourite childhood CDs recently for less that a dollar TOTAL!!!

I love Mckays ive been going sense i was about 10 years old im 36 now I didn't realize how long they have been there i baught all of this for 18$ 9 movies and a big minion lol thanks Mckays !!! ill be back every weekend.

Most likely the best used "everything" store you could ever visit. It's advertised as a used book store, but their endless supply of music, movies, games, and more only adds to the limitless curiosity of what you'll find next.

Huge selection of books, games, comics, music, toys. More than you'd expect.

It was big but very crowded. The books are reasonably priced and they have a free bin outside the store. The free bin was so crowded it was hard to look through. They will also buy books from you for credit at their store.

It is almost TOO big ... Great selection but you loose that little bookstore feel.

Best book store in town. You can spend hours there looking at all the different stuff they have there. If you're looking for something specific it's generally not hard to find.

I used to like this store a lot a few years ago. I feel like lately they overprice a lot of stuff though. It's not the same. I usually compare what book I'm getting to the brand new purchase price just to see, and usually it's the same price as purchasing said book brand new or only a few dollars off. I'm sorry, I'm buying a book USED. That doesn't mean price it the exact same I could buy it brand new. Maybe like half off or a little more like it used to be. This used to be the place for some good bargains, doesn't seem to be such anymore unless you really dig and get lucky.

To the children who keep leaving bad reviews because "they discriminate because I won't wear mask!!"y'all need to GTFO. This isn't about you. You should really care about the health of others, this just shows how self absorbed and ignorant you are. Stop bashing businesses over this. Get over yourself, and wear the mask. Y'all wackos need to stop thinking politics belongs in everything.

Best bookstore around. Definitely well priced and has something for everyone.

I love the selection; finding exactly what you want can be difficult sometimes. I wish the books were sorted by authors only.

A very booming business for a buy/sell business. Most things they'll give you wayyyy more store credit but their shelves are definitely worth checking monthly for new blu-rays, games, guides, books, cds, electronics, accessories. The list goes on.

Great place for old records, cds, video games, books, and more

McKays is a good place to find an old movie or buy a book series for cheap. Be ready to hunt though. Its pretty organized however so its not too bad. They don't offer much when we usually trade in books/old movies but its still nice to get the credit. Like I said before dont come here in a hurry, trading in old items takes forever for them to give you their offer, and it can be really hard to find something specific. Overall good place though.

I love going to this place on as regular basis as I can afford timewise! Honestly, it's like a warehouse full of all the media you could think of, from records to books to video games to even old video cassettes! They have recently started offering musical instruments, and specialty video game apparel (think 'Donkey Konga). And they are all competitively priced as compared to other local alternatives, usually to a ridiculous extent. They are closer to the prices one might expect to see online. Not necessarily as low as eBay, but definitely comparable to Amazon and the like. I have to allot myself time to go, because I usually spend at least a good few hours just wandering around putting everything of interest in my basket. When my basket is full, I start the arduous task of deciding what to put back because if I always bought everything that I wanted, my place would quickly look like McKay's Jr. I honestly hope that they stay in Knoxville forever. Seriously could not imagine this place without it.

Good prices, amazing employees, and just an all-around great place.

Friendly staff and cashier's. Took my grandson to find a particular book series which was a little challenging but we did end up with 3 books he wanted. He also picked I just thought 2 books for his aunt's. There are so many books to look at make sure you are ok for in a hurry.

I love going to McaKay's because I always find stuff I didn't even know I was looking for and I don't have tospend a lot of money.

nice selection of books, music, cd, records, dvds and video game materials for sale. wheelchair and stroller friendly due to their elevator. making a left turn during traffic is quite a wait.

Didn't find the book I was searching for, but staff made every effort to locate it. She even went out of her way to manually look for it in incoming book area.

The only place of it's kind. The best combo book store.

Love this place. It is the only used store I know of. The magnitude of media, music and books is overwhelming. I would have gave them 5 stars but I think they are a bit picky about the books you sell to them and they are a bit underpriced on their offers for great condition books and what they will accept.

This place has more books, DVDs, etc than a person could ever look through. Staff is helpful. They were very helpful in helping me find an item I was looking for.

It's a cool place to walk through. Some things are a bit pricey, but overall reasonable

First time I've ever had to take something back for a return at McKay's. Couldn't have been easier! We are a family of and readers and McKay's helps us save money while "feeding our habit!" If you've got time to look through the stacks, or if you're not looking for one specific thing, McKay's is the place to go!

I love McKay's we go there about once a month and get decent trade in for stuff we are finished with.

Always a great place to go for a movie, game or book. Merchandise is always in great condition and a plethora of choices and titles. A must for the budget-minded person

This is a great place to buy used books. A lot of the used games are over priced, you though. They have some neat features now like a Lego bin where you can buy baggies full of random Legos and a Magic: The Gathering card stand where you can pick through their thousands of cards and buy them in stacks for a certain $ amount. They get 3 stars because they are always super busy but never seem to have any staff. I used to enjoy going there a lot but now you almost always have to face what seems to be an insurmountable line to check out and no one to help you anywhere if you have a question. Also, price check. So many things other than books there and a lot of it you can get cheaper elsewhere. They do have some good deals, but just always check on your phone before buying.

What is there to say? They have it all when it comes to books, CD, and video games.

Good for books but for you anime/manga lovers and gamers, it is no longer a great place. All the manga is almost the price of brand new copies (like $2 less) even if damaged, the games are getting out of hand on procing as well especially handheld related products (an old style regular ds is still $115)

My family and I practically live at McKays. Very good bookstore!

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!! Sell your used books, movies, games, and console systems. A lot of miscellaneous free books in two huge bins outside. Never know what your going to find in them, sometimes its not worth the look, other times youll find so many its almost sinful!!

Great place to find books, movies, CDs, records, toys, games that might be a little tricky to track down! They have books in foreign languages, anime, manga, and game consoles as well!

Make sure to stop in if you like anything I just mentioned, as you will definitely not be disappointed.

Good place to find used books. However,
they will not check for a book if it isn't on main shelves in front, aggravating.

The store is still great. All the employees are wearing masks and they have setup to adhere the social distancing guidelines.
