If you are in search for the builder of your dream...

If you are in search for the builder of your dream home, look past McGuyer Homebuilders, Inc. (MHI) Coventry Homes, Plantation Homes and Wilshire Homes. If working with a company that will go out of their way to do the right thing is important to you, MHI is not your builder. If they don t have to do it, MHI won t.

Faced with doing what s right or closely scrutinizing what and where you initialed in a contract, MHI has demonstrated an unwillingness to bend, care, or go out of their way to preserve customer satisfaction. Your initials by a paragraph in a contract will supersede any verbal agreement made by MHI sales staff.

For one year, I ve been working with a sales representative to get screen doors for an 8x12 sliding glass door in my new home. This was an item noted on the inspection report and promised would be addressed. A year later, the sales representative is no longer employed by MHI and corporate denies all knowledge of the arrangement, suggesting the MHI employee wasn t representing MHI at the time he agreed to provide screens. So here I am, a year later left holding the bill for a $980 screen install I had to arrange on a $380,000 home.

In a time when beautiful customer experiences, brand reputation, doing the right thing and going above and beyond to understand what customers want, need and care about, MHI is more focused on what they re obligated to do. When faced with the opportunity to take the high road, MHI went a different way.

Customer loyalty and satisfaction after the sale are best left to homebuilders who care about someone greater than themselves and who firmly believe the customer is always right.

Horrible, Will not honor warranty! Everything is ...

Horrible, Will not honor warranty! Everything is not covered not matter if warranty book says repair, replace. Bad business when the Division President Rudy Pospisil & VP Chris Terhune come to your house see the issues and tell you "you bough the house its your problem now"! We have barely lived in this house for 1 yr, issues just keep pilling up. Constantly threatened by MHI / McGuyerbuilders were going to pull the house from us during build process for pointing out issues with the house during the build process, and they will its written in fine print on the contract. They will also not return earnest money or deposits research it, tons of posts. So if you sign they got you! We are $85,000 deep in needed repairs they refuse to resolve, using a lawyer has been pointless you sign away all of your rights in the contracts & they know it. DONT BUY or CONSIDER high price for the flash they will not honor. If you own an MHI home do not leave your keys for the service rep. they hand out your key to any one, we have had multiple items stolen in addition to workers drinking your drinks out of your refrigerator, "picture of hand print attached". They will also build a house with Moldy wood picture attached, & they just covered it up with sheet rock.

WORST ONLINE SERVICE EVER. I had forgotten my password hence I sent a reset request. But after putting new password code they sent, it asks for my old password. The hell? Why would I reset if I know my old password after all? Why is it asking for my old password to change password? Stupid.
update: they do get work done but takes quiet a long time

MHI Homebuilders (Builder of Coventry and Plantation Homes) discriminates in its employment practices. They like Blacks to buy their homes but they don t like them to work in positions of management. Buyer beware! #boycott #discrimination #homebuilding #metoo #employmentlaw

Poor quality, do not stand behind product. Had 2 roof warranty claims for leaks, then roof at 3 years old needed to be replaced due to poor quality product and poor install, they refused to take responsibility. Stated that there is no way to prove what happened over 3 years. Well, we did not have a track meet up there, it has a 12 inch pitch. Had to spend 16k to fix their poor quality work. Buyer beware.

This company now goes by the tradename "MI Builders". Bought this house in 2008 from Plantation Homes, which is one of the trade names MHI uses. This has been the lousiest house/build quality I've ever seen in a home. My father was a master tradesman/craftsman, and he taught me about build quality when I was a kid. We have had nothing but problems, but mostly with the A/C system. We have had at least 20 service calls, warranty and out of pocket, in the 9 years we've lived here. The system costs me over $400 to keep this house cool during the hotter months, which is pretty much year round in Texas. The builders put in substandard units, which are too small to properly cool the house, by about HALF the size it should be. That makes the system have to work way too hard and causes excessive cost to run. We recently replaced (yet more) grass in the front yard and when the flowerbeds were dug up, there were HUGE chunks of concrete, thrown in as fill when the house was built. UNBELIEVABLE... this is what has been causing all the grass to die repeatedly, because all that concrete (and other rock) they left behind, holds the heat for much longer during the evening hours, killing the grass. I've had cracks in my walls (many of them very crooked), creaks in my floors. The salesperson was a joker, and really knew nothing about the build process other than he made a huge commission off the outrageously priced upgrades. He told us it would take a minimum of 4-6 months to build, so we rented an apartment for a 6-month term. The house was ready to live in within TWO months, which did not even give us time to correct/upgrade any of the things that we wanted changed along the way. Once the house was ready, they started hounding us to close on it, which means I still had to pay for several months' worth of apartment rental for no reason whatsoever. These are only a VERY FEW of the issues we've had with this company. Incompetence on a grand scale. I would avoid this builder at all costs.

If you are looking to buy a new house in Houston. I would recommend you think twice about plantation home (or MHI). Their quality is poor and they will not honor warranty when you ask them to fix it. See the pic for their quality yourself

Closed on a brand new - inventory home, never lived in on July 31st and on September 10th summitted a home warranty claim on several things. Today is November 11th and still haven't repaired everything. And only started the first repair on 10/22/20. You purchase a $300+ home you shouldn't need repairs after a month. Poor construction especially with front door and all interior door handles. Two have come off completely!!! Kitchen faucet came unattached from the granite and was hanging by a thread. Still waiting on the door handles to be repaired and was told twice a time the guy would come by and was home both times and missed work for one of those and ....NO call - NO show!!!! Lights have burned out in the kitchen. There is no sense of urgency and this is RIDICULOUS. I can't keep making arrangements to be home and have them not show up. Buyer be weary.

We had taken to corporate office and no one no responded back even after multiple follow-up. I would strongly disagree buy plantation homes. Don't loose your money values spending here!!

These folks at Plantation homes in Harvest Green a...

These folks at Plantation homes in Harvest Green are certified money scavenging crooks from kevin, chris, and kelly with fc lending. We signed a bogus contract for a whitney home at 3400 sq ft for 350K with these builders and their common senses knew quite well that it was a incredible long shot in order to get this deal closed. They snatched 8K from us knowing that it would be a miracle in order to close. Do not sign a contract with these builders unless you have secured a pre approval letter from an outside financial institution and the number one inspector in Texas. I will disclose the entire factual story if anyone is in need of all the details because we do not want anyone to get burned the way we were misled and misguided. We are in the process of reporting MHI, MCGUYER HOME BUILDERS to the national builders association and a host of others. " GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY OR GREED" "THE KARMA IS COMING" " BAD BUSINESS"
