McArdles Restaurant Review

This is one of my favorite places to go eat! The food is great, the owner makes you feel valued when you come in and the service is top notch.

Good traditional menu, not a million choices but good variety, and the chef specials should always be given serious consideration

I always enjoy going here for dinner with family. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with tasty home cooked style food. I highly recommend the pot roast a tall McArdle's ale!

Great fish fry and awesome staff. Very busy on Fridays during Lent, but moved along quickly without feeling rushed at the table.

We went out for lunch bit at 11am they were still only serving their brunch menu, which was mostly just fancy breakfast items. Will want to go again sometime for lunch with their regular menu

Best potato skins made with real bacon and just the right amount of crisp. Server was attentive but not intrusive.

Owner involved in checking with guests to make sure they are happy. Incorporating vegan options which I was thrilled to see. Good food, friendly, clean.

Greasiest, most horrible fish fry I've ever had. Won't ever go back.

I complimented the two Receptionists as we left that I was well pleased and impressed that the entire staff backs each other up. She commented "We're a team." and she was exactly right. It was apparent that when there was a task to be done, someone immediately stepped it to do it.
Congrats to the owner/management for inspiring your employees to perform this way.

Good American food, with a decent selection of drinks.

Others got fish fries and burgers. I got pot roast with mashed potatoes and butternut squash. Tasted like good home cooking. I'm told everything else was delicious, too.

Also, they have a decent selection of beers on tap.

This is third or fourth time eating here. Never been disappointed.

Called here to get a fish fry, and while the pick up dinner wasn't the best the place looks amazing and was packed full. I bet it's more the experience with the food that sets this place apart. Great for families!

This is where our family goes when we want to go out. We have been going here about once a week for the last 6 years. The food, staff, and service are wonderful. The menu has a bit of everything. Specials are always worth a look. The Sunday brunch is a great menu and very tasty!

We have been going s to McArdles since it opened. Friday night I had capers ravioli.it was the best meal I have had there.

Great local place, nice specials, good variety of dishes. Had the French onion soup, prepared perfectly with a nice subtle Sherry flavor. They do a great fish fry on Friday night. Quick Service and reasonable prices. Good selection of beers and wines and cheerful servers. It's our go-to place for a nice meal.

We always have an excellent meal and experience at McArdle's on Fairport Road! We even brought our pup with us as they welcome paws on their patio! Finally a pet friendly place where we can take Bella with us ! Thanks McArdle's!!!

Very mixed experience. The Irish omelette tastes pretty great and the bangers taste pretty great. The potatoes were soft and not even a little bit crispy. Honestly they tasted boiled. The rye toast was thick and marbled which I enjoyed. It was hot as hell and our party was drenched in sweat. The sausage patties were huge and I could tell they weren't a hit with my group as no one ate them. Really weird experience.

Had dinner and it was ok, menu items have changed from the last time I dined here, and personally not for the better. It wasn t bad, but just was as good as what it once was. I ordered the pecan crusted chicken salad and the lettuce mix was a bagged mix that was starting to brown here and there. The dressing was heavily mustard based, which some might enjoy, personally I like balsamic heavy. The chicken was juicy and cooked well. The buffalo perogies were difficult to cut, and tasted like a frozen item they just deep fried, not what I was expecting, but I might have misread the menu description. I wouldn t order them again. Service was interesting, asked the waitress for extra napkins, she grabs a stack and delivers them to the table past us. She also asked twice if we wanted coffee and dessert, in a way where it seemed as if she thought she was asking us for the first time. Over all, it was ok, the restaurant was clean, staff friendly, and food delivered in a timely manner. However, I m not rushing back.

Dined at McArdle's last week. Tried the Swordfish special. It was outstanding! We always have a good meal there. It is one of our favorite restaurants. Nice people, great service & great food!

Given COVID restrictions this restaurant still ran efficiently. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was very good.

The food is very good! Prices on the high side. Service was efficient and friendly.

Service and presentation were fine, but the food was just awful. Dry, over cooked, gristly prime rib. Same for the chicken French. Even the fries were terrible - soggy, apparently previously frozen, possibly microwaved at some point. How do you screw up fries?

I've had worse, hence the two stars, but nothing here to recommend.

Good food, huge portions, overpriced appetizers. Great for taking your kids, as they have high chairs, booster seats, and coloring books for them! If you're going by yourself, the bar had only one tv without the sound on, so I might not recommend it if I was going by myself. But for the family? I already have my next meal in mind when I return.

The food is always fantastic! Went there for lunch Saturday we both had the Rueben, we both took half of it home. You will not leave hungry. John and his staff I must say are most friendly and attentive. Go you won't be disappointed

Very disappointed overall with the quality of food. The appetizers we all had were all good, but when the main dishes came out, my hamburger was burned beyond belief. I honestly couldn't see how the kitchen sent it out. Anyway, the manager refired it for me, but the carrots in the dish were completely raw. I didn't bother letting the staff know, as I had enough and just wanted to leave. The waitress was not that friendly, but the manger made up for her. I won't be going back here at all.

Recommended. Good service. Many times repeat customer. Busy on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Food was good, not great. The service was average at best and unfortunately, we had a 45+ plus wait form order to service of food...not good with 3 children for breakfast.

We re in town for an event and found this Super pub-glad we chose such a delightful place. Great service with a great smile. I very much wanted a salad and our waitress was Very attentive to my allergy and seemed truly not to be bothered. She could not have been more prompt, polite and friendly. Ordered the panini-amazing flavor served with a marinara sauce from heaven. Could have ate many plates if we were here for a few drinks. For dinner we had the fried haddock (cod was sold out which is actually a good sign) It was huge, flaky inside with a crunchy batter. Not greasy or soggy. My bourbon burger was deliciously thick, original bun, with bacon slightly crunchy. The sauce was slightly sweet with a def taste of bourbon. Excellent food. Owner was onsight and very friendly. Runs his place very professionally, good mentoring to staff and awesome customer service. Atmosphere was fun yet still able to be friendly. Will def recommmend yo anyone who s in the area!

Delicious food! A great place to stop in for a great meal.

Wonderful new outdoor dining area makes you want to stay all day and night. The Reuben was high quality all around but my corned beef was cut into 1.5inch cubes which made it impossible to eat without a fork and knife.
It was wonderful to meet their owner whom is warm, welcoming and smiley :)
Wish it was closer to irondequoit though... Maybe another location will open!? (Hopefully)

Local Irish restaurant/ bar in Fairport. It has good food at reasonable prices. It has a nice warm family feel with workers who are always pleasant. It is a good place to go for a casual drink or have a family dinner with kids and is locally owned and operated which makes it all the better

Owner is always there, making sure things run smoothly. The wait staff rarely turns over...same ladies from years back know you by name. Food is good and fresh, homemade soups and nice selection.

They have some good outside seating and adequate COVID precautions.

The pork chops here were so delicious, and I really like the location of the place too. The waitress did a good job and made sure our food was brought out hot, just like we requested.

They changed their potato skins from a pile of yummy to "oh, looks like 5 potatoes with some stuff on it" Not a cool change. Soup was "eh" They're not what I remembered how they used to be.

I always enjoy my visits to McArdle's. Whether I'm in the mood for comfort food or brunch, their food hits the spot. The service is consistently awesome and I honestly just love the casual atmosphere.

Decent family restaurant with some unusual options and good service. We went to McArdle's Irish? Pub recently with great grandma after a day of puzzle making. They were able to quickly seat our largish party by lifting one of the dividers and provided amusements for the kids. The group was largely made of healthy eaters and actually 3 out of 5 adults ordered the Turkey Club, which was one of the few lighter fares on the menu. No one tried anything from the cute bar there, but they did charge for seltzer water.

Our usual family restuarant, always great service and food!

Two meals came wrong to our table, but everyone has an off day. Poor server wasn't her fault I don't think. Not sure we will return there, but I am sure some of our dinning group will.

Everything you would expect out of a great Irish pub. Cozy atmosphere, good beer selection, friendly staff and amazing food. I was in town for two weeks in business and are here twice. The fish fry was great and the lobster mac and cheese was to die for. I really recommend you give it a try.

This was our first time trying Mc Ardle's. We went in early on a Saturday night (5:30). I was happy we did because the crowd steadily grew, from that point till we left around 6:30, at which time parking would have been an issue if it weren't for the overflow parking they offer. Apparently, this is a popular place. We were seated quickly, and all the staff treated us well. Our server, Ashley was delightful, knew the menu well, and was able to answer our questions. Our food didn't arrive as quickly as one might expect from, say a Chili's, but this ain't Chili's. The quality is well worth the wait. I ordered the prime rib burger with fries; my wife had the cod cakes with broccoli and mashed potatoes. Everything was very good. It's easy to ruin broccoli, but my wife's was done to perfection. Her cod reminded me of seafood I'd eaten while living on the gulf coast. Very tasty; perfect spices. She mentioned she liked the potatoes weren't over whipped. The burger and prime rib on my sandwich were also grilled exactly as I ordered. The spices they used on the Angus beef complimented one another well and none were overpowering. Even the horseradish. The atmosphere was nice and although the restaurant was crowded it was still quiet enough we could enjoy our conversation at a reasonable volume. Ashley checked in on us just enough we felt cared for but not bothered. We loved it here. We'll definitely be returning. Soon!

Great family owned restaurant. Craft beers on tap. Nice menu selections. Great food. Very personable staff.

Wonderful place to eat. Great service. It was a wonderful surprise to find seafood on a menu and have it nice and fresh. Scallops were cooked perfectly. Clam chowder was delicious. This was a nice change from our every day retaraunt. There was as little weekend wait but it was very short.

Even on Mother's Day, when it was packed, the quality of the food and the service was outstanding. That's why we keep going back to McArdle's time after time.
