People are friendly. But this is the strangest hospital I have been to! Waiting in ER for five hours while the ER is not busy? Having to stay the night before getting a sonogram? That is ridiculous! And MIXED WARDS??? Why on earth would one be expected to be on a mixed ward? And taking pictures of patients at admittance? And sandwiches for lunch? Very weird situation!

My father has been in the lung department for three weeks. He was very confused and anxious. Many pukers were now respectful to my father. They treated him like a child. on the floor. Doors of the room are very damaged, so it is not easy to keep clean. Information from the nursing staff to the family was downright bad. A great hospital! I have been coming there for exactly 3 years now. My experience with the specialists in lung diseases, ENT and the recently deceased dental surgeon Baart, who are almost literally available day and night, is excellent. An additional mention for the estimates of the radiotherapy department is absolutely in order. In general, the atmosphere in this hospital is excellent and the personal approach excellent. VUmc wants to be the best oncology center in the Netherlands / Europe. They are well on their way to living up to that claim.

Unfortunately also a negative experience. I am very dissatisfied with the dermatology department. I complained and the head of the department agreed. I am now at another hospital for my skin.

THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT MY OPERATION IN 2017 AT MC ZUIDERZEE !!! Operated on my meniscus last week. Apart from the fact that as a diabetic I had to stay sober until 2 p.m. nothing but praise for the nurses and dr. Nijland. During the operation I was able to watch on a screen while Dr. Nijland was busy in my knee, she gave excellent explanations and put me at ease. Once again all praise and thanks to you. You can keep an undressed hospital open, but that does not entitle you to my review regarding the MC ZUIDERZEE !!

after the takeover my husband had to be admitted through the emergency room, we waited 4.5 hours before a bed was free. An MRI of the intestines and a heart film would be made the following day. Not so good, the doctor told him from the doorhole that he could go home. Not a hand yet, and not even introduced himself.
Now we have been waiting for the medical file for two weeks, because my husband wants nothing more to do with St Jansdal, needs surgery and the file does not get loose. It seems that they are taking the patients hostage

My father was urgently admitted to the emergency room because of heart failure.

On September 17, 2020 I was operated on for a double inguinal hernia in the hospital St. Jansdal / Lelystad. Contacts prior to surgery with surgeon Dr Akkersdijk were pleasant and relaxed. On the day of the operation itself, I was well received by very friendly staff from the hospital in Lelystad. Before the operation I spoke personally with Dr. Akkersdijk ,. He has humor and is very knowledgeable. Operation was successful, repair now !! My overall experience with St. Jansdal has been very positive.

What a top surgeon and with a nice team / assistant.
