The sandwiches in this place are absolutely amazing. I haven t try any dishes though but I ll recommend the sandwiches to anyone. It is always crowded which is a good indication. (I m wary of the quality of the food when I go to restaurants that look empty)

I absolutely love this place! Wonderful food! It gets crowded at lunch time and pretty much all day on Saturday so go prepared with that in mind. Get some wine and drink it on their patio, hang out.
It's always packed, but that's probably because EVERYTHING there is soooooo good. The prepared sandwiches and the dessert counter are my personal favorites.
I Love Mazzaro's.. The service was Amazing!! Everyone there is Super friendly and welcoming.. Not to mention there cannolis are to die for .. Definitely check in and have a cup of coffee and a cannoli sometime.. Your tummy will Thank You .
It should be on everyone's must visit grocery, it's a italian deli like no other I have seen since moving to Florida. If you are from the city in NY, jersey, Ohio or Pennsylvania you will enjoy it.
If you dislike crowded spaces, do not go. This place is typical of all the little local stores we grew up with before grocery stores took over. Italian is their specialty and if you cannot find it, you do not need it. Plan at least an hour or more for your visit and come hungry, to enjoy their offerings. Meats, pasta, baked goods, delicacies salads sandwiches and more. MANGIA
This place is always busy during lunch. The nice thing is that they have lots of parking east of the restaurant. Met a friend for lunch and we both had Italian sausage lasagna and a beer. Total cost under $6.50. Very good beer prices. Also stopped at the bakery section and bought peanutbutter chip chocolate cookies, Nueske's chocolate covered bacon and a mini decadent chocolate cake. Tried a cookie on the ride home. It was great.
Best chicken parm I've ever had. This place is a grocery center for everything Italian with a cafe, deli, bar and outside lounge all in one. I can't wait to go to Florida again and visit this place.
I drive an hour just to eat here....so good! Love the food especially the deli and bakery. So many speciality items. It is a must try place! Can be very busy during lunch hours, but worth the wait!
Anyone from the Capitol Region of NY knows about Cardona's Market, a wonderful Italian grocery store on Delaware Ave. We are thrilled to have found the equivalent close to home in St Petersburg. We are happy with everything we purchased there and can't wait for our next trip to Mazzaro's!
An Italian oasis, and a must-stop when you are in St. Petersburg. Growing up in NYC there was no shortage of great Italian markets. From little mom and pop shops in the neighborhood to larger groceries in Little Italy, great Italian delicacies were usually a short distance away. Since leaving New York and living in various places across the country, sometimes you find a good Italian market and other times you simply become wistful for what you used to have. Now living in Tallahassee and driving to St Pete somewhat regularly, we are ecstatic about Mazzaro's. No more wistfulness. Instead, we pack coolers and bags of Italian goods and bring them back to Tally.
Mazzaro's is huge: at least a city block. And it is broken up into sections: the cheese shop, wine shop, meat case, and refrigerated cases are all close to the entrance. But the best part of the shop is in the back. There you'll find the bread and pastry counter, the deli and sandwich counter, and the fresh pasta counter in addition to a coffee counter and canned/packaged goods.
If you want bread/pastry, grab a number and wait. No matter how busy it is, and it WILL be busy, the line moves quickly. Use the time to look at the pastries in the counter and at the breads on the counter, in the counter on the left, and on the racks behind the counter. We adore their semolina bread, seeded Italian bread, and ciabatta bread and rolls. The cannoli are also pretty tasty. We buy loaves of bread to bring back to Tally where we slice them and put them in the freezer for toast. Delicious!
Our next stop is the pasta counter. Grab a number under the hanging salamis (the number machine at the other end of the counter is for deli items and sandwiches) and then turn by the Prosciutto. There you will see trays of ravioli, gnocchi, manicotti, pierogi, and all manner of fresh pasta. Everything we've had is excellent. And it all freezes and reheats very well. We buy many pounds and then freeze them when we get home.
There is so much more to see and buy that you owe it to yourself to wander around. When you check out you should note that one of the freezers on the left has small bags of ice on bottom. Grab some (they say it's a limit of 2 per person but we always manage to take a few more) to keep your goodies cold in the cooler. You did bring a cooler, didn't you?
If you've been there you know how great it is! If you haven't been yet - just go! From fresh gelato to espresso to cheeses and wines and pastas and fresh meats , prepared foods in the deli, hoagies and OMG this place is it! Parking is always hard to get, but with the new bigger lot, its easier to find a spot.
This place is usually packed but you have to try Mazzaro's at least once. They roast their own coffee, sell coffee beans and have a coffee bar with items like espresso shots and americanos They have desserts including gelato, prepared foods like pastas and salads, and a wine and cheese room. My favorite is their breakfast sandwich but it's not served everyday. They even have wine tastings sometimes and cheese samples. They also sell their own pasta noodles and sauces that you can take home and use to whip up a quick dinner. My favorite is their vodka sauce.
This place is pretty amazing, very popular. Lots of wine and wine tasting available, a big coffee bar, lots of Italian products, take out lasagna, desserts, etc. They make delicious sandwiches that you can sit down inside or outside and enjoy, and so much more. A must see if you are in the area
I've hesitated to review Mazzaro's because they deserve more credit than I could ever give in a google review, and selfishly, I don't want to tell anyone so that I can always find a parking spot. Every weekend I try to come up with elaborate reasons that I need to drive an hour into St. Pete so I can "swing by" Mazarro's. Maybe this weekend gas is cheaper than Lakeland?
I literally had a dream the other night about their meatball subs...
Great produce and good meat! Believe it or not, it's less than what you pay at Winn-Dixie. A bit busy so if you can make it before lunch rush then you're better off.
Large variety of foods and drinks. Probably anything you could be looking for was there. My opinion only, some things were a little pricey. Bought 2 gourmet cupcakes, carrot cake, and the cake was very dry, but icing was extremely rich and good.
Food is great , one of the best places to eat. BUT the management team is rude and they dont care about your health! Went today and the p[lace was so packed it was nervous environment. WHT DON'T THEY MONITOR THE DOORS! If you want Covid its the place to get it. I asked a Manager "Bob" who would not give me his name why they are packing all these people in and the rude response was " Go shop elsewhere, its not mandated" What a great customer service response!
Been going to this store since it was just a little meat market. They've catered my baby shower, christening, birthdays, Christmas parties and I've never been disappointed with the quality or quantity of food. It's the closest thing to a salumaria I've been able to find in St. Pete.
Hands down the best Italian market in the greater Tampa Bay area. Large selection of domestic and imported foods including pastas, meats, and cheeses. Treat yourself with some gelato while you're there!
It was the best breakfast sandwich and latte I ever had with the fresh sour dough bread. Fun!!! Great gifts!!! Absolutely loved it and could have spent all day there.
Excellent lobster rolls and eggplant parmesan sandwich! Crowded but so worth the wait...great dessert, wine cheese and Italian olive oils selection!! LOVE this place!!
I go here almost every week. I really enjoy the wide variety of meets, cheeses, wine and sandwiches. I recently bought one of their sausage lasagnas and I must say, it was THE BEST I've ever had. It was so flavorful and cheesy. They have some of the friendliest staff as well. I recommend them to everyone who asks about an Italian market.
Oh my gosh. Best Italian market around. Live in largo but the commute is worth it. Amazing fresh meat. Beautiful winery. Cute coffee lounge. They even have a restaurant!
Maxaros is so nice. The food there is great. The look of the place is really good too. The Italian theme and the food make the pace a really good stop.
My favorite grocery store in the city. Great bakery and deli with a wide selection of prepared items and catering options. Associates are very helpful, we've made several catering orders online over the years and they always do a lovely job.
Mazzaros at PIE airport. $3.20 for a bag of stale chips including tax and the menus dated 9-11 are already outdated with price according to the cashie . $10.99 was mor high enough for a chicken ceaser wrap, as of today, it is now 13.99. But the cashier could make me the children's grilled cheese for $5.99.
My mom took me in this great place...OMG if you like fresh food and Italian foods this is the place..They got so many Items..Fresh and you can even dine there...What a place...
Great place with tons of eat in options as well as shopping. This is an awesome place but just too busy given its size to provide a comfortable shopping atmosphere (during my several visits). That said I will continue to go back and enjoy their goods and services.
Oh my gosh, there are just too many wonderful things about this place to list! Affordable, fresh produce (MUCH BETTER than Fresh Market!) DELICIOUS deli & bakery offerings! Even fresh made pasta!!! Sitting there eating, tasting wine & sampling cheeses, meeting people at the espresso bar, you feel like you are in Italy!
