Max and Benny's Restaurant & Deli Review

Food is high quality, but you pay for it. Prices are not absurd, but also not considered a deal by any means.

The classic deli with high quality traditional offerings. Matzo ball soup and Rueben sandwich (also served as a panini) top the list but so, so so much more. Great service, large portions, a massive menu that spans omelets to full dinners. If you've got a craving for any deli food you can think of, it's here. Reasonable prices and always satisfying! Great for kids.

This is a very good place to eat. "There are two types of people in this world, those who like delis and those who you do not wish to be associated with." This place is very good. It is no Rascal House but quite a good place to eat.

Staple deli for northern chicago. A must if you're in the area. Expect long waits during lunch.

We came to this place for dinner. we heard about this spot from many people. Well, it was a winning. The crew were extremely nice and we had a great feeling. The food was just great. We had a great time and we will visit this place again. We recommend this place to all.

Excellent corned beef and pastrami. The mish mosh soup is a meal(or three) by itself.

Very busy in lunch hour. You actually have to wait upto 20mins for your table. Prompt service.

As someone who used to visit the Carnegie Deli in NYC regularly, I can be tough to impress when it comes to this type of restaurant, but Max and Benny s absolutely nails it! Great food, generous portions, and an authentic deli section to boot!

This is one of my favorite places to eat. I've never had anything bad here and, seeing as it is always busy, I think most people would agree. Despite how busy it is, there is never a long wait. Service is always quick and polite.

Been coming here for 20 years but watched the service and quality deteriorate. Today was last straw. After a recent meal I bought a frozen "Chicken Noodle Soup" to go. Awhile later, I was looking forward to a nice, satisfying, nutritious meal. To my surprise it was only a few noodles floating in broth. No chicken to be found in this "Chicken Noodle Soup," and no tomatoes, no carrots, no celery like it lists in the ingrdients.

Today I was in the area so I stopped by and had lunch. After my meal I asked for the manager and I nicely told him about my disappointing experience. He was confused, and he admitted he didn't know much about the soups. So he brought out the kitchen manager who didn't really have much explanation, except that's just the way it is. He couldn't give an answer to why "Chicken Noodle Soup" has no chicken, and it doesn't have any of the vegetables listed in the ingredients. He did however think it would be helpful to emphatically explain to me that gluten-free means it doesn't have any wheat. Thanks for that.

I was looking forward to buying a bunch of items, like stuffed cabbage and kreplach, but was so annoyed I just grumbled something about "bad business" and walked out. I even forgot my bag with a half a reuben sandwich I wanted to bring home to the Mrs.

This place was pretty good! I loved the sweet and sour cabbage soup. The patty melt I ordered was ok. Not horrible but not the best either. Service was great!

Used to love coming here, but the food quality has gone down and the prices have gone way up for tasteless food. I miss the old days of better portions and flavorful food. Ive been coming here since 2005.

We were five people and four were right with the food. One of the dishes was very simple and not very good, but everything else was perfect. The buns they put on the table were spectacular and when we sat down we already had a glass of ice water on

This is the hang out for all in our area! Food has a lot if Jewish type dishes. Very good!

. Everything was delicious and when I leave after having a wonderful breakfast I always go in their Bakery get me some fresh bialys bagels and homemade cookies I just love it every time I go there I'm never disappointed very good food nice people who work there

Really good deli food. Although I have noticed the broth in their soups are really weak. Like salty dish water. Not a rich stock.

Used their new on-line ordering system and was extremely pleased with this new feature. The order was ready on time and even though we had some special instructions (like no carrots or kasha in the soup), everything was prepared perfectly and was ready on time. Personnel at the deli were waiting for me, acknowledge by name and couldn't have been more efficient or polite. We did carry-out and were impressed with the packaging. All the food was at the right temperature and perfectly presented. We'd recommend you give this a try!

Love this place! Fresh meat and the sides are perfect.

The matzo ball soup is something you definitely have to try. The broth is rich and flavorful and the matzo is light and fluffy. :) You can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. Check out the specialty sandwiches and the salads. You won't be sorry that you did.

The servers are very attentive and I always feel at home.

Great deli sandwiches and soups here. Sit down or order charcuterie, lox, and other good stuff from the deli. We ve always had good service here and they also have a good bakery with fun cookies in particular.

You go to Max and Benny's expecting good service, a tasty overflowing bread basket and a menu longer than a Russian novel - and they deliver on all of it.my go-to is the turkey burger on Pumpernickel with grilled onions and a fried egg and it never fails. Seasoned curly fries for a yummy side dish and don't forget to try the soups. Highly recommended

Pricey but worth it. When we need our Jewish deli fix, this is the place. Our goto dishes: chicken mish mosh soup, corn beef sandwich, brisket or lox and bagel.

I visited the restaurant on January for breakfast. I think the portion is very generous and Delicious. Price wise also very worth the money. Will return if I am in the area.

Very disappointing. We waiting more than 40 minutes for our food. When it finally arrived, my chicken in the pot was ice cold. I was visiting from out of town and was hoping for a comforting Jewish deli meal. This was not it. Max and Benny's was more like an exercise in aggravation.

Love their menu. Lots of poultry alternatives for those of us who don't eat red meat. They have turkey pastrami, chicken sausage and even chicken gyro meat.

I cannot believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. I've been coming here for years and I don't think hat I have eaten my way through the menu yet. Mostly because I have my favorites and I generally stick with those, but honestly you really can't go wrong with anything you get.
