Unfortunately Mr. Lee's review hits the nail right...
Unfortunately Mr. Lee's review hits the nail right on the head. I am a parent who has invested a ton of money in MMA and would love to say that I think it was worth it, but it wasn't. International kids are sent to MMA for a variety of reasons, like to learn English or for a secure enivronment, but American kids are sent to MMA because they're having academic or disciplinary trouble or both. The admissions office assures parents that MMA can transform their kids and that kids are rarely dismissed and only for drugs or serious offenses. Not true. In this 2016-2017 school year, MMA dismissed an estimated ten per cent of its student body. Some of us parents wonder if MMA has some financial incentive for its quick trigger finger on the dismissal button because MMA costs $30,000 a year and there are no refunds if your kid is dismissed. MMA makes serious errors with random drug tests, has high staff turnover, and stonewalls parents about rumors of teacher-student relationships and staff adultery scandals. We should not hear scandal news from a kid first, the school should be contacting parents. The school is mum about its financial situation too, and some say it is shaky. Read some of the ex-student reviews on the internet. MMA needs real leaders who care about the kids and good managers to save it from its self-destructive downward spiral. Until then, there are other good schools that really aim to achieve what the MMA sale pitch promises.
