I found Maryland Homebrew a few years ago, visited frequently and have never been disappointed. The staff impressed me so much on my first visit that I never really wanted to shop for brewing supplies anywhere else. The owner Chris has thought of everything. Their selection is great and always well stocked. Recently I moved out of state but still make the trip back to Columbia for my brewing and wine making needs. MDHB is my go-to store.

This place is amazing. Largest selection of home brewing equipment and supplies I have ever encountered. Friendly and helpful staff can get you started for the New Brewer or give excellent tips for even experienced home brewers.

Everyone here is super into their craft and products. I was given a guided tour of the store and products, and told what I could do with it. Definitely not a small store!

As a hobby Brewer since 2011, I have always been able to turn to the staff of Maryland Homebrew for any unexpected issues with my brewing. They have a wide range of brewing equipment, kits, and grains for making your own type of beer. The wine kits are simple and are really quite good. They provide training classes for beginners and advanced classes for those wanting to know more. This is really the place to go for brewing at home.

The staff here wants to help you get started. They'll take you around and make sure you get what you need, without trying to up sell you on everything.

Oh man I could get into trouble in this place. Ended up having to make an emergency run here one afternoon after I ran into a problem on brew day. It is a bit out of the way but well worth the travel. All the supplies that you could ever need. I came looking for yeast. Left with a hard cider kit, bottles, some cool designed caps, and of course my yeast starter. They have kits if you are an extract brewer or they have all the grains and mash tuns equipment you could ever need if you are the hardest core of all grain brewers.

Good selection of grains, and knowledgeable staff. Love that they are carrying Imperial yeast. Appears they are expanding their equipment offerings.

MD Homebrew has everything you need, fair prices, and the MOST helpful staff you could ask for. They have been very helpful and willing to let me and my wife pick their brains about the brews we're working on. They also hold classes which I haven't taken yet, but sound great. Of course you can get most things cheaper online, but I highly recommend buying from them for the personal interaction. It's WELL worth the small amount extra you pay.

Let me tell you about Maryland Homebrew.

I first went in there because I wanted to try brewing a mead, but really didn't know where to start. One of the employees walked around, gave me advice on the recipe, and carried EVERYTHING THAT I NEEDED to the register. I had never met this man in my life and he had just given me more help than plenty of online communities.

I also went in about four months after that because I wanted to try my hand at brewing an Imperial IPA with very, very little knowledge of what I needed. The same guy remembered me, asked me about my mead, and then went around AGAIN and got everything, giving me advice along the way.

My lease is about to expire and this homebrew store is the reason I am staying in Maryland. Yes, I want to repeat that: I am choosing to stay in this state because this homebrew store is that good.

I have been brewing for 13 years in various states, and Maryland Homebrew is the best local shop I have done business with. Super friendly staff that offer sterling customer service and a large, comprehensive inventory. They go out of their way to help and make sure I get the supplies I need. Can't say enough good things about this business!

I have been home brewing for 16+ years and started to go to Maryland homebrew about 15 years ago. These guys are great they have a how can I help attitude.
I have given them some of the strangest problems and they always are happy to help. I talked some of my friends into trying home brewing and they all feel this place is a goldmine.
If you want to have some fun and try something new you have to go there, you can even take a class or 2. If you don t drink no problem they have some cool things for you also.

If you are new or experienced homebrewer, this is the definitive place to visit. You may find cheaper ingredients online, but you will miss some excellent customer service and a very knowledgeable staff. I've also bought wine and cheese making ingredients here.

Great, knowledgeable staff. They are very friendly and willing/wanting to help. MD homebrew offers a fun recipe board when you first walk in to try out local breweries recipes. They also offer a cheese making room and a wine making room.

A great place to learn about the process of beer making, as well as all the supplies you will need. The staff was more than willing to help out and answer any and every question you may have. Prices were reasonable as well. I will be returning for future shopping needs.

Surprised by the location, not what you would expect really. They have a huge selection, not just for brewing beer, but wine, cheese, etc. Got a kit to brew some cider for the fall. Can't wait for it to be done.

We were new to homebrewing and stopped in to pick up a starter kit after finding the store online. The owner greeted us, gave us a rundown on starting out, and ended up giving us a tour of the whole store (it's massive). She answered all our questions and was very helpful. A great experience. I'm glad we stopped in, and we will definitely return.

During COVID 19, they were very accommodating. They are only open for curbside pickup. We didn't know upon arriving, and since we were in the area-tried calling to see what we could do. Fortunately, we were able to call in an order and pay/pick up within a few minutes.
