This is a great local homebrew store, very knowledgeable staff and prices comparable to online stores. On occasion they host really great group brew events, they also frequent brewing classes for both beginners and those making the switch to all-grain. The store also sells wine and cheese making supplies, it's really an incredible selection of everything.

Love Maryland homebrew. Got into homebrewing earlier this year and Maryland homebrew always comes through with what I'm looking for. They have everything from kits and extract to a ton of grain malt to choose from. Sometimes you can get some of your equipment for cheaper online but nothing beats MHB's customer service. Everyone in the store is friendly and willing to help you with whatever your latest brew is.

Great store with nice staff. They sell grain bags of 50 or 55 lbs for the all grain brewer. Plenty of wine making items as well, hops are decent too. Quiet location but near the Frisco Grill which has a great tap selection!

Love this place. The employees always ask if they can assist me and are knowledgeable when I have questions. Their prices are competitive with most other online retailers and they have a great selection (available both at their physical location and for order online). My online orders have been processed quickly as well. Highly recommend.

The staff was incredibly helpful and the selection is fantastic. I stopped by after having to work in the area and learned they had an online presence as well. My first online purchase I ordered the Saturday before the 4th hoping to be able to brew onnthe holiday and they they had everything packed and shipped for a Tuesday arrival, even with free shipping! They're definitely the best Home Brew Shop experience I've had in the DMV area and recommend them online even if you can't make it out in person.

This place is great... This is maybe my 4th visit, and the staff here is awesome. I always feel intimidated coming in not knowing much, but the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I see the passion they have for their job, and it has me coming back over and over. Prices are great too, they beat Amazon by a long shot.

Great staff. Great inventory. If they don't have what you need they can get it. After you spend a curtain amount in the store you get a 15 percent discount for being a loyal customer. I think it's over $1000 dollars total over time. It's way better than shopping online for Homebrew supplies.

Options are pretty limited when it comes to home brew stores in this area. This store is tucked away in an unassuming, industrial-looking shopping center. One that looks more like office buildings than it does retail stores.

They have a huge selection of beer-, cheese- and wine-making equipment and supplies. Everything from yeast, hops and malt to rice hulls and cracked corn. They even have malt/grain mills to go along with their huge selection of malt. Tip: they'll mash the grain for you in-store. We picked up an additional brewing kit yesterday and a nice 4 gallon steel pot.

The staff and even most of the patrons are extremely well-versed in beer making and are always willing and able to help. The prices seem reasonable, but again there isn't really anywhere to compare to since this is pretty much the only home brew store in the area.

Yesterday I went in and noticed for the first time that they have whiskey casks which were pretty expensive, but perhaps worth it if you want to make Whiskey or some type of Bourbon Barrel Ale.

Bottom line: Maryland Homebrew far exceeds expectations.

Stopped in here today because my local store was closed. The prices were a lot cheaper and they offered a military discount. The place is huge and has a lot of things that you may need. Lots of different kettles, fermentation vessels, hops, parts, etc. if I were to say anything negative, it would be that they only carry dry yeast and White Labs yeast.

Everything you need to make a fine craft brew, cider, or wine is in this store. The employees are very knowledgeable on the subject and excited to help customers come out with the right product. Good store, good service. I am very pleased with my recent experiences there.

I really like this place! They have a ton home brewing equipment for sale as well as wine making and cheese making. The staff members here are super friendly and very much enjoy interacting with all of their customers! If you got a question about anything that ferments they will either be able to tell you from experience or will help you find the answer.

This is my favorite brewing store I've ever been in. The amount of variety of the available bulk grain waiting to be ground up is remarkable, much less everything else they keep in large variety.

The people are all knowledgeable, and will happily help you learn what you're doing, even going so far as to help you use their computers to research and print out recipes for you.

You can get (I think) every piece of hardware or material ever desired to brew and create your own beer, wine, and cheese. Definitely will keep returning here.

This is an amazing brew shop with just about anything you can think of. The staff are very helpful. They've answered a lot questions for me that couldn't be cleared up with books and internet sites. They even helped me build a mash tun for my one gallon batches that I make in my apartment.

I've been shopping here for nearly 8 years. The selection is always varied and fresh (never had a bad batch of yeast, yet!), but most importantly, the staff is always ready and willing to answer even the most complicated brewing questions. It's a little tucked away in Columbia, but well worth the visit whether you're a homebrewing veteran or upgrading from your first Mr. Beer kit to something more effective :)

Great selection of malts (that you can mill in house, if you want), fresh hops, lots of yeasts, and all the equipment you can shake a mash paddle at.

Overall a fantastic homebrew store. Great grain, hop and equipment selection. Staff is fairly knowledge, though I have gotten some advice that, in the light of my current knowledge, was suspect. My criticism that brings the rating down a star is yeast selection. Just a few dry yeasts and some White Labs liquid yeast. With the proliferation of awesome new yeast producers the past few years, I find only carrying WL to be disappointing. I drive the 2 hour round trip to myLHBS for yeast, but everything else comes from here. Overall a great store.

Excellent experience with the staff! They offered nearly 2 hours of their time to educate a first time brewer and provide product recommendations. After brew day I woke up to fermentation and I could not have been happier, all thanks to the staff! While there is a lot of time left in this process I feel they provided more than enough to make my first home brew a success. I will definitely be returning to this shop for products and advice.

This place is amazing. First, they will help you with anything, without the pretentiousness you find at some other places. They skip the douche-baggery, and just want to share their love and experience to make you a good home brewer. Their selection is great, and their prices are exactly what you d expect - well priced to make sure you don t go broke. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! Thanks Maryland Home Brewer for making me a better brewer!

Been shopping at MD Home Brew since 2008, very helpful for brewers of all skill levels. Just recently bought ingredients online for delivery and they called me almost immediately after purchase because I could have saved money buy buying a larger quantity item rather than multiple smaller quant. items. They immediately credited my account for the savings. You can tell that they are committed to superior service. 5 stars, highly recommended.

Impeccable service, great selection, and fair prices. Easily the best homebrew store in the state, potentially on the entire East coast. If you're a first-time or new brewer and you're apprehensive about asking questions, this is the perfect place to learn the craft from seasoned friendly professionals.

Maryland homebrew is my toy store of choice. The staff is knowledgeable, the inventory rivals that of many online homebrew shops, they host and support local events, and their prices are very reasonable. If you're a homebrew in there central Maryland area this place is worth the trip.

The best place to buy beer brewing ingredients and other brewing supplies in Md.! Any questions you might have they can answer or will find out for you. They also share many great recipes for brewing.

I have been using Maryland Homebrew since they opened many years ago. I started by making beer and we made over 125 gallons of beer during the first two years. MHB''s staff was always there to assist and answer questions when needed. Two years ago I started making wine from grape concentrate. Last year I made over 400 bottles of wine and MHB was always there when I needed them. They are a great source for all the supplies you need.

2019 update. I have now made over 1600 bottles of wine and Maryland Homebrew has always been there with the resources I need. If it is not in stock they will order it and it shows up in a couple of days. I am very grateful that they are so close and available.
