My name is John Common I remember in 1987 walking into the Martin Smith building on second & cherry, looking for office space I ran into Greg Smith. I had not money, no nothing Greg Smith literally gave me an office space to run my start up advertising agency. When I started my Warranty Company Warranty USA they represented me in all of leases and subsequent building purchases, I worked directly with Dan Stutz. These guys are awesome, understand the Seattle Market and always treated me fairly.
I had the pleasure of being in their Holyoke Building on 2nd and Spring for 5 months. However I would like to mention an incident that soured my stay there and lead me to move out.
The building itself is fantastic, however the assistant management staff can definitely work on their customer service. I had hosted an event at our workplace after hours and the property manager was unaware. Instead of politely explaining the issue of a door being unlock, he proceeded to insult my clients and guest; accusing me of solicitation underage drinking. He was not only unprofessional by downright rude. He pointed fingers within inches of my guests face and insulted them to their face.
I was lucky to get an audience with both Ryan and Mark after the incident. Both are genuine good guys, but was unable to grant my request for a new management staff to work at that particular building. Just be wary that if you are renting a property, to properly vett the after hours staff and also the person who is suppose to be in charge of building management.
