Truly historic & Educational. A must-see in Atlanta
This museum brought back a lot of my childhood memories. It reminded me of the struggles of the. Freedom Riders and how social change can work for the good of people. Great videos and film clips. Relive the experiences of the Civil Rights leaders. Learn about politicians who were leaders and those that obstructed social justice. Learn what hatred and bigotry are and how they hurt us as a people. Great place.
This place has certainly expanded since I last visited almost 30 years ago. Loved the chronological layout of the display of MLK Jr, his wife Coretta and also that of Rosa Parks. I learned most about Ms Parks here.
I'm A black history buff. So actually being in a place I only read and heard about was amazing. Knowing the history behind where I was standing was unexplainable. And my niece took me.Totally awesome and worth it.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The tour if his birth home is very informartive.
Martin Luther King Center is a nice place to visit and learn about history
This was absolutely amazing. I saw a lot and I also learned some things. You won't be disappointed.
Everyone should go. Very moving and awakening experience.
NPS visitor center has a hard mission, present a message, instead of artifacts. If you go willing to be receptive and reflective of Dr. King's work, it's a powerful place. I went before noon on a weekend, and crowds were minimal.
loved it! such a learning experience with my family
I was blown away by all the historical details of this place
Went there during spring break, we had an incredible time!
Very busy area, easy area to access, security guard wanted to show his authority. Considering Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was a cultural icon I expected more, but it was a large 2 foot deep pool with his crypt centered above the water line. It was not what I expected. But I do believe he was a God fearing Christian man that should be respected for his faith and his desire to change our country for the betterment of race relations. His "I have a dream speech" is one of the most powerful speeches I've heard. It inspired me to visit his grave, I thank God for people like him. Willing to die for a cause is what separates hero's from the rest of humanity. He is a hero to his race and a Godly example to all man kind.
A great place to visit and learn more about a very significant part of African American history.
Took my kids for the first time! Wonderful time and experience.
Interesting feels good to walk in the footsteps of the king
This is a great place to learn about the civil rights movement in the US. I found my visit very moving, but MLK's home was closed for renovations when I went. It's definitely worth going to this place.
A must see if you find yourself visiting Atlanta. Across for the King Center and Ebenezer Baptist Church, the National Historical site does a good job contextualizing his campaigns, including a replica of a Freedom March in the main exhibit.
If you visit Atlanta, this is a place you need to see.
Beautiful place, but not enough for a man who has done so much...
It is always amazing to know the history and culture. It can be crowded at times but it is awesome to learn these things.
Learning about history and walking the same streets that the Great MLK Jr did is a life changing experience. Would encourage everyone to stop and visit the area. If you haven't been in a while stop and get a refresher.
Missed the house tour you have to register at the place across the street from monuments I will go again
Beautiful and well planned space. You learn a lot and get a good feel for the history here.
I really enjoyed myself today and recieved some valuable information!! It was such a moving experience!!
A very well preserved grounds of historic information.
Utterly speechless. The emotions and reverence this place sent through me were amazing.
As a person who loves museums, parks, and galleries, I m very pleased with the MLK Center/Park! My partner doesn t know the full MLK history and I m pleased that our visit to the center provided him the history lessons he needs to know the full MLK impact on our history!
Everything is clean and a great representation of MLK legacy: From the visitor s center, to the park, to the wall of quotes, and the beautiful water stream.
Just a plaque. There is a Kunte Kinte sculpture Historical landmark worth a visit. Be aware of the crakheads.
A must-see from Atlanta and really recommended.
Partly goosebumps
A must visit when in Atlanta! It is free, historically significant, and far less crowded than many of the the other more popular tourist destinations. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the park was amazing. It has undergone additional updates following it's recent designation as a national historical park and looks outstanding. Great job guys! Put this on your agenda and skip the lines at the Aquarium and at Cocoa Cola.
Great exposure to learn about African American history and the King Family. To visit the birthplace of MLK Jr. make sure to get there early because the tours fill up quick. Paid $10.00 for parking.
Awesome experience! Free to the public. Everyone in America should ho visit at least once in their lifetime.
Get place to take the family.... clean and friendly..
Great history lesson. You can spend a lot of time in the Visitor Center so length of visit will depend on how much you want to read and watch. The house was closed for work but still got to see the outside.
It was a humbling experience to walk into places where Dr King also walked.
Can I just say ... GO GO GO you will NOT be disappointed.
Recommendation - to go in MLK house you MUST get a ticket at the information office 1st and it's 1st come 1st serve BUT free!
The main visitor center was not even open on a Saturday afternoon which was quite disappointing but we ended up looking through freedom hall....it's fairly small and can be done quick in like 30-40 mins.
Great historical monument that all should see and learn from our past.
Outstanding! Visiting his boyhood home was like a step in the past at my own grandmother's house! I was humbled yet rejoicing in how all Dr King had worked to see was just the beginning!! We will see the glory of the coming of the Lord! Thank you Dr and Mrs King!
This was with no doubts the hit of my trip to Atlanta. It is a must see! Very inspiring and powerful videos / pictures at the museum. I got to see Martin Luther King Jr's house and I also visited his church. And you can literally listening to him preaching as they have some audios playing. Very exciting experience.
Took my CHILDREN twice..we also cater events there..great place to take your family for positive legacy!
Was closed due to the government shutdown little or no access to key areas very sad
I learned more about America and what it took to get to this point as a Brown person. It's a humbling place to visit. The Peace Garden was nice
An amazing experience. My girlfriend and I were lucky to get a chance to be in the last tour group of the day. It was so humbling to see Martin Luther King's childhood home and hear the story of how he grew up and all that he did. I enjoyed my experience here.
Worth the visit, however the city of Atlanta needs to clean the area around Wheat Street towers and the large Church on the corner.
Great experience, great opportunity to learn about our history and a great way to spend your day in the beautiful city of Atlanta, Ga. I had been to Atlanta multiple times, but this was a more impactful and meaningful visit.
The MLK historical Park connects via paved walking trail that runs beside a freeway in nicely Treed areas to the Jimmy Carter presidential museum. I got it on nice brisk fall day and was super.
A magnificient spot which inspire you to become rejuvenated like never before. The cool but strong voice of the Dr King cannot be ignored by any one even the most casual listener. The oratory with which Dr Kind energized the public and woke up the common conscience of the humanity could be experienced as you move around the centre.
The audio CD help me to be reminded of him and his mission even today.
