Our favorite drop-in. Great atmosphere. Staff are engaging and menu is superb.
Food was great. I just expected the portions to be a bit more considering price. I would've enjoyed more fried potatoes but the biscuit was amazing
Found this place to be inconsistent in the past. Food was generally good, but not well run. When I heard they hired Chef Nick, I immediately went in to check it out, and my wife and I just walked out with lunch. Posting as I devour my Turkey, Avocado and Bacon, on a Croissant. Delicious. Perfectly balanced. If enough people ask, I have to believe Nick will add his famous Philly Cheese and Meatball hoagie.
I ordered take out last night and was extremely disappointed. My chicken thigh was just barely cooked through, the meat was tough to remove from the bone. On the flip side my roasted potatoes were soft and dry, they made it to the trash. We also ordered the salmon, dry and over cooked.
We did enjoy the pecan ice cream. Over all the cost of the food far out weighed the quality that we received.
Great place with great food. Nothing fancy - kind of cafe style - but a great place for breakfast or lunch. I've never been disappointed.
If it is your first time going, I'd recommend the dirty bird biscuit.
Cute spot in a lovely town. I went here for breakfast, which was actually pretty good. Very simple setup though, nothing fancy. I would recommend it though and will return if I'm in the area again.
Love the building & atmosphere, porch has seating around 2 sides, which was also lovely. Was a bit disappointed to learn the menu on google was outdated by 2 yrs so they did not have the sandwich i went there for, tho they suggested something similar. It wasn't bad, but there was very little meat on the sandwich. I felt it was pricey for mostly bread. Staff was cheerful & helpful tho.
Great Cuban sandwich. Good selection of local beers and wines.
Very friendly staff.
Unfortunately there's no zero Star.
Bad service, workers are not friendly.
They ignore you when you want to place your order and then act like if they haven't seen you.
Bad quality food.
The food was great. The people were all nice. And it's just a neat little place :)
I frequent this excellent restaurant once a month as I love the special air that is characterizes this restaurant. The team is extraordianrillyremarkably welcoming and skilfull. The service is very fast. Needless to say, the food they prepare is excellent. I frequent often and I was always joyful. The pay is fair. I suggest this place to all my friends.
Nice staff there's always a flavor you like or something you want to try.
Wow, I was surprised. The chicken salad sandwich was almost tasteless and by the looks of it, it looked fantastic. Unfortunate. The BBQ sandwich was a touch better, but I was underwhelmed. It's missing something more dynamic. The people were nice and the store had a good feel.
Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz
I love to have breakfast there ,the food is so fresh and yummy.
Just so so. Chicken tenders were very dry and they forgot to pack sauce in to-go order. Fries were inedible. Very over priced for what you get.
Excellent sandwich and service. Steak and Cheese! Would recommend giving a try for a lovely lunch.
This spot is the one I always prefer. I visit many restaurants but to this place I go the most. The stuff is very cordial and the cuisine they serve is so delicious. I never decline to have a nice dinner in this place. I recommend this place with pleasure.
Beautiful grounds, food is expensive. About $100 for a meal for 2. Food is subpar, which is disheartening. Rooms can be cleaner but its suffice for a massive hotel.
The food is delicious and the place is very cozy and warm. Perfect place for Sunday brunch.
Great place to grab a quick breakfast. They even sell small bottles of prosecco and orange juice for mimosas!
Have eaten here several times over the years. Very quaint; albeit a bit pricey, still a nice place to grab a sandwich or an Honest brand tea.
Cooked to order meals, great selection. Feeling of a laid back country store. Gourmet coffee bar would be a good addition.
Delicious food at off-resort prices. Highly recommend for breakfast or lunch.
I really want to rate this place a zero! burger with cheese was nasty and unflavored no real love! And the mac and cheese tasted like boxed
Kraft Mac and cheese it was gross!
Food looks good. Wouldn't know, there is no order to the lines. The staff closed one line down and didn't merge the two lines. A "line forms here" sign would fix this. Or some staff attention to watching couple after couple walk out. Went next door instead and was immediately seated.
Hands down best food in town! Awesome interior! So damn amazed
Ordered burger and fries. 30 minutes later, they had not even started the order. Once it was done, I had to chase the wait staff to get my food. Never coming here again.
When you have to try to explain how the restaurant works to every customer that walks in, you miss the point. Ordering, paying and receiving food could be easier. The food was good, but the prices run too high for the value.
Bring your instagram because the interior of this place is adorable and fun! The cafe has a bunch of options and the staff are very polite. This is a seriously unique place and it is loaded with character
What a great place! I spent the weekend in Middleburg, VA the weekend of 12/5/14. Enjoyed all the holiday festivities and Hunt Review. Stayed at the Good stone Inn and had Jason from the market create a beautiful cake for my boyfriends birthday. He designed a Harley Davidson Cake and it came out stunning. It was even more delicious! Was so authentic looking. Great job Jason! Cant wait to come back and have you create something special for our anniversary!
For some reason I thought the ambience was good. But food was prepared in haste so not much taste or flavor. Also bit pricey, well in Middleburg everything is price. But I did not feel I got any value for it..
Little pricey for Ice Tea, sand which was good, but mustard on Turkey wasn't great. I took off the bread. The turkey itself with Cole slaw was delicious. Also need a fan outside to deter flies.
Very cute upscale bistro with great food and beautiful desserts. We came here for a wedding cake tasting and we're not disappointed!
This is a $13 omelette !!! Forget the presentation.. even the taste sucks !! Too much salt. Very bad experience!
The coffee has soo much powder in it, we couldn't drink.
Newly renovated and it is beautiful. The food is delicious. My favorite is the burger or salad with salmon. Ambience is great and they added a tv to the second floor. I was truly impressed with Market Salamander when I went for lunch.
Wonderful little shop in downtown Middleburg, VA. Made to order sandwiches and other fairs. Comfortable eating area, vegan options, and unique fares. I stop by every time I'm in Middleburg!
Pricey but good food. Nice little outside eating area and friendly staff.
Nice food and environment. The prices are a bit higher than your standard but so is the quality.
Wife ordered the veggie burger without the chipolte mayo (which they let her try) specifically because she does not like spicy food. What they did not tell her is that the burger itself is full of cayenne pepper.
The chef was on his cell phone and seemed uninterested in correcting it.
The wait staff was excellent however.
Delicious, as always. Their crab cakes are to die for ^_^ the staff was extremely friendly
Jason designed our wedding cake and it came out beautifully! Not only did it look beautiful, it tasted amazing. I couldn't have been happier with how it all came out.
Cozy and friendly spot for comfort food and a nice wine country style shop.
Went there for Valentine Day Brunch on Saturday. Atmosphere was amazing. The facility and staff were clearly first class and the view outside was amazing; we saw deer and horses run by. Food was mediocre and over priced.
Wonderful atmosphere and the staff provided great service.
Quaint little shop in Middleburg we stop in occasionally. Food is good, a bit pricey but well its Middleburg so kind of expected.
Sandwiches are awesome! Difference between a sandwich maker and a sandwich chef!
The chicken salad sandwich is a great blend of flavors! The perfect amount of pecans and the smoked Bacon makes this sandwich memorable. Yum!
Staff was very nice, good facilities, but food wasn t that flavorful.
Atmosphere and service was great, chicken salad was gross. Can't speak for the rest of the food, but it seemed very popular.
I came on a Saturday in the summer so I expected it to be a little slow and it was. Most things are heated up on the grill and pre-prepared. I ordered the crab cakes (yum) with two sides. The sides were under seasoned but my crab cake was delicious. The patio seating was very nice.
Our wedding cake was made by Jason Reaves - the Salamander Pastry Chef.
Jason was very attentive to our wishes and made everything what we wanted: three different flavors, different decoration for each layer (waves, polka dot), and amazingly beautiful and refreshing fresh fruit and fresh flowers decoration!
I don t think that Jason needs recommendations, since he is already famous for his work, but we couldn t leave no review on his amazing job!
It was just okay yeah the sandwiches were not great and you know it seems a little pricey
Such a cute place to stop for food before we headed to a winery. The sandwiches were light and delicious. The cheese plate to go was full of flavor and very affordable. The desserts were delightful. A must go if near the area.
Excellent eatery with a colonial feel and quality food. Slightly pricy for what you get but it s worth it.
Amazing food. Probably the best turkey sandwhich I've ever had. Try the Rachel if you're looking for light and delicious.
Positives: The sandwiches they make for lunch are great. My favorite is the Grey Ghost, which I would drive from DC to have. If they have the chef's secret mixture for hot chocolate, you must must must get that. It is honestly the best hot chocolate we've ever had (although this year they haven't had it out a few times...).
Negatives: If it is cold out, there is very tight & limited seating space. This is not a place for large crowds. And it's a tad confusing for first timers because you order or make your drinks then go pay up at the regular merchandise cash register.
Tasty treats a bit pricy. Nice space upstairs for meetings
Friendly staff. The crab cake good. First time there.
Lovely lovely cafe with a tasty and eclectic choice of light lunch and breakfast. The interior is also beautiful - note the cloud painting on ceiling.
The only problem is that they have very limited hours and close at 2pm weekdays and 4pm weekends. I understand they have longer hours in the summer, but even on a gorgeous spring day with all the cafes around open, it was odd to see this one closed.
Regardless, it's worth a visit.
Great quick options and catering! We typically stop here before going to great meadow for twilight polo!
What a great find! The food was amazingly good and the atmosphere was great. I will definitely be returning to this place.
Excellent casual restaurant within Middleburg. Serves as an introduction to the nearby Salamander Resort.
A row of men in aprons serving up delicious brunch plates can't go too wrong!
Healthy serving sizes, beautiful classic preparations and combinations, delicious and decadent flavors. Go - and make it a habit!
Seafood soup was good. Thr bread for sandwich was dry and meat was just ok. Slightly pricey. Nice seating area. We enjoyed our time here.
Great place for great food! Always fresh food cooked perfectly. Sandwiches and regular plates, excellent crab cakes. Some outside seating available. Go try it!
