We lived at San Cervantes apartment for 2+ years. Apartment was good, well maintained and clean, I would give 5 stars to the maintenance staff.
BUT BE AWARE
Once you move out you will be asked to PAY for things which they think YOU are responsible for (even if you may not be responsible)
I paid $600 deposit at move-in thinking I will not have to pay anything at move out.
We got bill of $669+ and saying I owe them $69 and some cents, most of the things I could not defend as I am not sure how to prove it but I have been charged $200 for a repair for which I already have raised service request (multiple times) with San Cervantes BEFORE my move out.
One of the maintenance guys told us not to worry about repair as I will NOT be charged for that at move out. That was not the case, this lady from MT keeps saying Management is not accepting it so you have to pay!
What? Am I suppose to document each and every conversation with staff?
When I requested to connect me to senior management to resolve this issue, I have been told I will receive a call, which I NEVER received, instead I started getting letter from them which says, If I don't pay balance, they will take strict action.
I don't have any issues to pay the balance, IF I am responsible, but how can I be charged for something which I was informed by staff that I will NOT be charged and on top of it, they are not even letting me talk to any one from senior management?
I can only say Apartment experience was good but not worth facing this move-out trouble.

Mark Taylor is a responsive and diligent management company. I've communicated with staff at two MT properties and they have always been helpful, professional, and caring. I would definitely lease with MT again.
Hello, I am really not a person to do something like this. I am beyond livid with Christopher Todd Community at 2500 s 99th ave tolleson, AZ 85353. We pay $1,695 a month. Rent is always on time and we have never been an issue. I ve dealt with neighbors cats walking on my car, to my husbands car being towed even with this vehicle being registered to be on this property, to my husbands car being tampered with and hit on this lot behind the gate. When I confronted the manager all he can say is that since we are under new management all the paper work did not carry over so they had no idea his vehicle was registered to be here. With us in Chicago for my father in laws passing his car got hit. No call no notice nothing. I also had to put a lock on my back gate because we don t get a notice anymore before anyone enters our backyard. I do not feel safe here and highly disappointed with the new management at this location. He is not doing his job and being very careless with his tenants. I need action to take place ASAP. My husband went to the office asking one of the office workers for the manager to call and we are now on day 4 of him not returning his call. Having this guy as management he is putting a bad bad bad name and completely against what Mark Taylor stands for. He is using the community bulletin that IS NOT HELPFUL to keep tenants updated about there individual issues rather than call or email us individually to let us know anything. We had to pay to get our car out of towing, we have a damage vehicle that needs repairing ARE YOU KIDDING ME. This is not ok at all. What should do? I will keep posting and posting because I am not the only person on this property that has things going wrong.
FOR THIS PRICE AND AWFUL COMPANY, JUST RENT A HOUSE. Do not rent from any Mark Taylor apartment complex unless you've got a few extra thousand dollars when you want to get away from them. When we moved in, the staff was so nice and helpful and knew us by name and were just all around great. Then they did a full staff change and things just went downhill the last few months we lived there. We finally got a house and a few weeks after moving out, Mark Taylor sent us nearly a $2000 bill for a full carpet replacement, painting, and cleaning fees. It took me about 5 minutes to find multiple reviews from other mark taylor residents saying they were charged for full carpet replacements for no reason. Lets begin with the cleaning fees. They sent us a copy of our move out inspection and we were charged heavy cleaning fees for just about everything. The pictures attached were things like a single piece of hair, a leaf that probably blew in when they came in, a counter with absolutely nothing on it, and I could on and on. Even if you hire a professional cleaning team, god forbid they miss a piece of hair or a small section of dust on the top shelf no one can reach, youre getting charged a heavy cleaning fee. The paint they use is cheap, any furniture you place against it like your bed, desk, couch, etc., it will leave a large black streak that can't be cleaned. So dont let your furniture touch the walls or you'll be paying for painting! Our vacuum broke mid move after a piece of plastic wrap was sucked into it and we were unable to finish vacuuming. There was no visable staining on our carpet or any crusty spots, and they decided to rip the carpet up and charge us for a full replacement. So apartment 2069's new tenants, enjoy your new carpet and enjoy paying $1200 for a replacement when you leave!! Supposedly there was "stains from pets" in all the rooms, but thats not possible when our dog wasn't allowed in two of the rooms. The pictures they provided of said staining were blurry and shadowed by the person taking them, which made the "stains" look bigger. i wanted exact locations they said were stained and no one would provide it for me. based on what i could figure out, the "staining" just happened to be where we had furniture. The kind of people who live at the complex are awful too. If you go to the pool, its just a bunch of entitled old people sitting around talking bad about people, i caught them talking about us multiple times and didn't hesitate to let them know. And the tenants below us were the worst neighbors Ive ever had. They would bang on their roof when we would be sitting there doing nothing. they put in noise complaints when we walked around at night or if our dog jumped off the bed. we all worked nights and couldn't complain when the people above or below us were loud. Neighbors from their apartment app would complain about our cars being "too loud" but again, would never say anything to my face. When we moved in it was great, and now I wish I never stepped foot in the San Piedra office. We are now paying less in rent for a two story, 4 bedroom house with a backyard and full stainless steel kitchen. dont waste your time with this "luxury" apartment complex.
This is a proper scam! They added crazy charges when moving out, even though the person who inspected the unit said our apartment was in exquisite condition. It's unbelievable. No one should trust these people or live in their residential units.
The response from Mark Taylor corporate and BB Living Val Vista are equally horrible. It should be advertised as resort style living with mediocre service. No surprise the leasing office doesn't respond because corporate doesn't either to address concerns.
Being new to BB Living Val Vista, I inquired about additional reserved parking (since a 4 bedroom only allows 2 cars). I received a scripted response about vehicle dimensions and requirements in order to reserve an extra space.
Meanwhile I've seen cars small enough to fit in a shoe box, garages so full they can't fit a car- so I know they have reserve space. And not to mention an inoperable vehicle (that's been on a flat) for more than 2 weeks since we moved in!!!! Meanwhile I'm told it's a dimension requirement to get a spot; as if I'm blind and don't have a phone with camera/ video!!!!
On the other hand, I'm dodging dog poop just to take a walk around the community. Yuck!!!!
If they'd let me out my lease, I'd move!!!! For the price we pay, we can rent a HOUSE!!!
Beware.... if you decide to lease from Mark Taylor, make sure the leasing staff is ACTUALLY responsive and fair. Because working with corporate doesn't exist much. Maybe they don't care because they're just the property management for BB Living Val Vista.
Really enjoyed living here. San Milan is a beautiful property. Really wanted to comment on the staff. Always kind and pleasant from start to finish. We dealt with Kimberley V the most and really appreciate her consistent demeanor and kindness.
High quality apartment life with great amenities and superb customer service. Resort-like pool, state of the art fitness center, free bimonthly neighborhood parties ( with free food and adult beverages), security patrol, and more. Upscale living at an affordable price.
After the leasing office staff harasses you and demean you for having a medical condition, the corporate office refuse to answer the phone to address any situation. I've called 20 times, left voicemails, and I cannot get a response.
