First meeting with the house of the woods. The site is enchanting, the kitchen amazes you. But all that you already know. We also appreciate the chef who is a great personality. The team around it is really nice and your little care. It emanates a very pleasant family atmosphere, very soothing, and it feels oddly at home very quickly. A nice parenthesis.

Difficult to describe this place so different from others, in a few words: we are very well received, the service is impeccable or almost (the sommelier is limited ...), we eat very well, we sleep very well, the breakfast is top, the bill is a little salty.

Been a fan of Marc Veyrat with annual pilgrimages since 1986. Every dish is a work of art to look at and unexpected explosions of tastes to savor. Each meal a wonderful journey. Worth every penny & centime, and kilometer of travel.

Magnificent place! A small paradise full of natural corners with a huge spirit. Respectful and familiar would define the experience we have lived. Since our arrival the staff have accompanied us through all these magnificent corners. We are Spanish and we do not speak French or English and at all times the staff has made an enormous effort to explain every detail, we appreciate it! From my beginnings in the profession of chef Marc Veyrat was a reference for me and now once I had lived such a desired experience, I only have to continue praising such a task. A genius!
We also got to enjoy one night in one of their cabins, (Suites) and they are really AWESOME and cozy! We will repeat, not only for the room, for the dinner or the deal, but because if you want to enjoy the best breakfast in the world it is here !! Congratulations!

From arrival to departure you are greeted and accompanied with all the attention you need but without any pressure. We feel good in this house.
It is a permanent spectacle perfectly organized for the eyes first through the decoration, the living pictures composed by the stable under our feet and the henhouse in the wall as well as by the basement where someille number of treasures; then for the taste buds of course from the aperitif very well accompanied with the dessert.
Show still in the room, by the presence of the chef available and at work for a nitrogen dish prepared in the middle of the tables accompanied by his forest walk, then by the parade of dishes all more inventive and magnificent each other and served by a relaxed but hyper-professional team in the midst of which the baker and the botanist participate.

This is the restaurant that struck me the most. It is an extraordinary place for a restaurant and a gastronomic journey full of discoveries.
The atmosphere is family, you feel "at home". Places are very limited which gives an intimate character to the gastronomic experience at Marc Veyrat.
Almost all the elements that can be found in the house have been chosen with a clear idea, nothing is left to chance.
Regarding the dishes, they are simply delicious and surprising for the most part.
If one day you want to make yourself an unusual restaurant, go to the Maison des Bois.

The service was perfect, the sommelier studied the combination of wines with the different dishes very well, the baker is excellent, his breads are among the best I have been able to eat, the explanation of the different dishes by all the servers was perfect and the botanist / cheese maker was very good at his field and they are all very attentive. Marc Veyrat is, for his part, very close to his staff, very attentive to his customers and good company throughout the meal.
Perfect, really.

Incredible dining experience, in an extraordinary setting. The House of wood enjoys a superb setting, surrounded by nature and in the middle of the mountains. On arrival, the gardens give you a taste of the effort of Marc Veyrat to produce ecological cuisine, local and especially unique. The welcome and service are naturally irreproachable, the chef is present throughout the meal and strolls quietly while humming or to come to your table to discuss or answer your questions. The meal, associated with wine tasting is divine and offers a farandole of new flavors, harmonious and is rich. If you are a lover of food and good things: go for it, it's an amazing experience. I only want to go back!

My first experience with a great French gastronomic chef and frankly I am not at all disappointed!
All the dishes were worked and excellent, the staff always present from the beginning to the end of the meal, including Marc Veyrat in person who thinks of greeting people table by table by making them discover something to taste that he prepares for him. - even in front of you by telling a story that takes you through the forest.
Excellent homemade breads, excellent cheeses.

We will not put any photos of dishes or the establishment on purpose, we invite you to go there to discover for yourself the chef's creations. We can nevertheless say that the place is fantastic with a breathtaking view, the staff is very friendly and always attentive, finally, the chef Marc Veyrat is a real magician ... his creations have blown us away, c ' is an authentic person, always available, a raw man that we want to take in our arms to tell him how much we love him, how much men like him we miss in everyday life, the harshness of life teaches us to love real people and to hate idiots, Marc is a real person, we can never thank him enough for his welcome and his sincerity, we will undoubtedly come back, we were seduced ..... The wonderful meal - expensive but also it stands out - but deserved price. Rarely enjoy such a farandole of succulent and original dishes

I share your indignation at the unjustified diktats of the Michelin Guide, on the pretext of their seniority and their experience.
To pretend that you are replacing our legendary Reblochon with ordinary English cheddar seems to me to be the worst fable. I cannot believe it, even though I have never had the honor of knowing your establishment. Living in the Marche de la Savoie (PNR de Chartreuse), I don't see how you can confuse Reblochon and cheddar.
Very respectfully.

A unique experience in an authentic place!
Everything was sublime, from the view from the restaurant to the avalanche of dessert that ended this magical dining experience.

Having done other two-star restaurants, it seems obvious to us that this establishment deserves much more!

Thank you to the chef and his wonderful team for these unforgettable moments. And don't worry chef, the 3rd will be back soon if the guide does his job properly.

A wonder of a restaurant. Marc Veyrat is a peasant poet. He cultivates, transforms and tells the story of his region with elegance and passion. The beauty of our gastronomic heritage, our know-how and our art of living is sublimated by this master chef and his teams.

The @guidemichelin discredits itself by not awarding 3 stars to this culinary genius.

After dozens and dozens of 3 stars in the world - I can say it, the Michelin guide has completely lost its mind.

If the 3rd star were to be associated with a chef, it is this Savoyard chef with a great culinary personality who loves risk-taking and provocation to always remain in excellence.

Well done Mr. Veyrat, last night you proved to me that respect for the land and human know-how are one of the most beautiful things in existence.
