for grace and worker above. everything has gone down in packaging sizes due to inflation and for the guy saying birds are mistreated they have CFIA on hand watching the birds say that 10-15 years ago and i would totally agree but now days its termination if mistreatment is documented.
I have always bought Schneiders Steaketts and they were always good but this last time they were only half the size. Same price $4.97 for 4 burgers. I was so embarrassed serving my guests at our family birthday bbq such skinny patties. I guess it's all about the dollar and profit margin and not about customer service any more. Never again!!
Yes, I worked at this plant and I was tossed around and given a hard time. I got signed into 2 departments. I was doing great in live recieving however the birds are heavily mistreated. It's so bad that they have their own animal safe handling people who only walk in every 40 mins or so. I've seen birds get stuck in their crate tracks and fall out of their crates down to the ground about 25-30 ft from the top. They hire alot of foreign workers over people who live in St.Maries - London area. I would say more than 50% are foreign workers. They don't care about their consumers bc when they got in trouble for the meat being bad a few years ago and sales in other non-maple leaf branded food sales went up even tho it was still from Maple Leaf Foods. They didnt have to tell their consumers this. So in my opinion DON'T BUY FROM MAPLE LEAF FOODS (Schneiders). Those birds are anything from NATURAL. They are fat birds and are covered in their own blood and feces and I feel terrible for the way they are treated there. I left the job bc of the insanity of their management. Only a handful of people I asked even like their bosses. Everyone else says the same thing. Theyre all A-holes
